This was a neat concept! I hope you flesh it out more post-jam. In my playthrough I felt the hiding mechanic didn't seem to matter much if you're already near a distraction spawn point and just gobbling souls left and right to quickly become a reaper.

Nice concept, i needed a couple of run to get good at it

This is a fun concept! I like how you are forced to switch between hiding and going out to collect souls before they disappear, rather than just waiting for them to accumulate and then getting them all at once. It really elevates the whole hunter vs hunted feel. Good job overall!

I like this idea quite a bit! I enjoy hiding from knights, and then collecting the souls that result from their grisly business.

Submitted

I like the balance of wanting to collect souls vs wanting to stay away from the knights. The only issue I had was sometimes it felt like the knight's range was huge, and they would kill me when I wasn't close. Great job!

Interesting idea, I find it pretty hard to collect the souls, also the design is going to need some more polish. The base mechanic is cool tho! :)

I really like this interpretation of the theme.

loved the idea. good job

Oh wow, we almost have the same idea, but different ways of implementing that idea, nice.

The game needs a lot more polish, but I like the main mechanics, and also would like to see what you would do if given more than 48 hours. An arcade-ish game like this would benefit from having scores as the main goal as well. The potentials are definitely there.

Overall, nice job!

A cool RPG prototype, I can see a lot of potential in this game, congratulations

Needs a lot more polish, but the underlying mechanics are really good, and the concept is unique. Nice job!

It is not very appealing visually and the lack of win condition makes it repetitive. The interpretation of the theme is unique and creative. Gameplaywise, I think the game would be fun with some juice. But for a jam that lasted this short, good job

Submitted

Interesting idea, I think the game could benefit from a win condition or maybe some kind of progression, but still a great effort!

The game is fun, great job, fits the theme. Could use animations, and quieter sound effects.

This game is really fun! I like how the two different roles of the player work together to change how you play the game, and the pixel art is done well.

Not enough of..  motivation I guess..

Also, hat isn't really usefull, knowing that knights can be outrunned

I would have loved if the mechanics were better illustrated, like a timer that shows how long until you become the hunter/hunted for example, but lovely game regardless!

At first I didn't understand what I had to do. I also didn't understand that the other goblins are my allies and what the progress bar at the top of the screen means. So I had to take a look at the description. After that, the knights didn't stand a chance against me. At least when I first try to avoid them and later turn into Death himself. Nice idea, and good job.

Great interpretation of the theme. Good stuff that I read the instructions first :D

I love the idea of being the spectator instead of actually fighting! Great gameplay, could use some more artwork and animations.
