Loved the game! It was very enjoyable to just ram the platform straight into the falling characters. I always had the "Haha, fall idiots!" grin on my face throughout the game.
Though I found a glitch where ramming the platform into characters can actually trigger a loss because the game thought that you failed to stop the characters from getting on top.
It also got repetitive pretty quickly but enjoyable for a few minutes nonetheless.
Thanks for playing! The game is pretty barebones at the moment, it was just a proof of concept more that anything else. About the ramming enemies glitch, might be some property of Unity colliders that I have to change.
This is a very creative game idea. I think with some features it could become really interesting. Maybe you could make it that you have to transport enemies of the heroes on a specific path while you have to dodge the heroes. Just as an example of the potential this game has.
Thanks for playing! I'm thinking of making it a roguelike, maybe the enemies transported are the XP? I will consider it!
I like the concept! There seems to be no benefit in going down though, staying on the top feels like the only way to consistently score. I actually somehow got to 200 pretty much without moving as well, I just left my platform idle in the middle at the top just a little to the left and it worked for that long.
Other than that, it was pretty fun!
Yeah, camping on top will be nerfed next patch, enjoy your PB while you can >:)
haha this is probably the most on prompt game I've played XD. Very nice!
nice game idea
Cute concept, death noise made me smile.
it was very satisfying to ram the platform into the guys >3c
it's a fun gameplay idea, i think like a thiner plateform collider could be more balanced or maybe b able to smash the npc with the plateform
Thanks for the feedback! How is the smashing mechanic like in your head?
I think it could be like that :
The plateform you controls faster than the actual speed to have more controls and have bumpers on its side so you try to touch the npc in order to smash them on the side of the screen and also avoiding them to jump onto you. something lkie that ^^
The “oof” caught me off guard! (In a good way.) Fun little dodge-em-up. Red guys coming from the top really gave me a run for my money. Am also quite fond of what you did with the game’s thumbnail >:D Good job on this!
Thanks for the feedback! I have to balance the game, making the player not reach that high I think. About the thumbnail, reusing assets is a good skill as a developer amirite.
Fun gameplay! The jumpy guys caught me by surprise a few times in a way that I liked. I also discovered the camp at the top strategy quickly, so I didn't really interact with the enemies from the bottom platforms.
And I'll join the chorus in saying the roblox sound effect is funny!
Really nice and polished gameplay well done !
Lmao loved the Roblox sound effect.
Roblox's sound made me burst out laughing.
It's so much fun to camp on the top and make them fall faster by stomping on them
95! Very fun simple game, the collision did seem a bit off at times, saved me as much as it hurt me. (A green guy just ran across my platform once) More levels with interesting layouts could make this a cool little game.
Collision is finicky, sometimes players will hit the sides face first but it will still count as them landing on the platform. In general the game is easy to cheese when that bug doesn't occur though, as all you have to do is move the platform to the top and you can ignore half the game.
The roblox death sounds seem very out of place, as does the music playing the Mario coin sound effect.
If the game was reworked a little, I could definitely see this as a fun mobile game.
Thanks for the feedback!
To address some of the points you made:
Collisions: I should check only the collision that happen in the top of the platform, I just checked the y velocity so that's why sometimes it just fails.
Asset cohesion: Never really pushed myself in that regard, do you have any resources about this? As you may see, I prioritized making the prototype so I just threw some free assets here and there.
A good strategy for the game is to position the platform at the very top, then you don't have to worry about the players from the bottom. Not sure why, but sometimes the player can walk directly on the platform without triggering the game over prompt.
The game over is triggered if the enemy's y velocity was negative, that was done to stop weird collisions from under the platform. Gotta think of a system to stop the players from camping the top. Thanks for playing it!
Cool! It took me a few restarts to figure out the lose condition - i figured it would be if any of the guys got across it was game over!
That was the intention at first, due to time constraints I just set the lose condition to be "being stepped on" by the guys. Thanks for playing it! :D
Cool and fun take on the theme. It is just the right amount of frustrating to make you keep coming back for more. The little oofs absolutely got me! Great job and a fun game!
Very funny game but it's also really hard and surprisingly addictive.
The sprint is nice addition, but even once I realized that it existed I couldn't do more than 16. There's just soooooo many of them.
In the beginning I thought about adding different skills like blinking, maybe a shield and other things to make it easier, like a roguelike. But didn't have time. Thanks for playing! :D
