How does your game fit the theme?
In this dating sim, rather than pursuing one of many objects of your affection, you play as one of many princesses being courted by an awful prince. Be sure to not end up with him, but also don't do anything that might spark conflict between your nations.

Congrats on the game ! A really funny take on the theme !
I like the idea of a dating sim where you don't wanna date the person. I'm not a big fan of visual novels so I just spam clicked lmao (Still left a good rating for the idea and visuals tho 🥺)
Totally fair! It's not really our genre either, we just did our best to make the dialogue funny and strange since it's such a niche type of game. Thanks for paying and rating.
A really fun story, good job !
Our writers really nailed it, they put such an incredible amount of effort into the dialogue. It probably ended up being the element of the game that the most time was spent on. Thanks so much for playing!
Nice writing and a good spin on a theme, i really did not expect there to be so much content. Felt a bit confused at first though, but once i figured out what to do i got 3 endings (war, proposal, setting him up with a rat princess).
I guess making the goals and the mechanics clearer would help, because when i was picking correct answers for each princess i did not expect to end up with the prince in the end. I kinda can see the logic, but it felt like i was getting the wrong prize for the right answers. I hope you get what i'm trying to say. That wasn't much of a problem to be honest, just a bit confusion on my side. And it plays into subversion of the genre, so that's a big plus.
Good job!
Totally to be fair to be confused at first, we probably should have added a tutorial or prologue of sorts to introduce the concept. It was one of those thing we just ran out of time for. Thanks for the feedback and thank you for playing!
Funny story. There is plenty of dialogues. Unfortunately, I don't speak English fluently, so I can feel overwhelm very easily with lots of text. But I went through the end, and got the good ending ! I like the strangeness of some characters. The fact that characters have different emotions . Great job.
I can understand how the walls of texts would be a lot if English isn't your first language. We appreciate you playing all the same! Love that you still got the good ending too.
Impressive amount of content - had a good chortle at some of the dialogue~
We love a good chortle. Thanks for playing!
A chill narrative game with a funny story and characters. Good job!
Glad you enjoyed!
Really wonderful art, well done!
Thanks for checking it out!
Funny and entertaining, and nice to play a narrative style game. Quite bizzare, in a good way!
We turned the bizarre knob up to 11 with this one for sure. If you read closely enough you can tell the dialogue lines we were throwing together at 3am while beset by madness. Thanks so much for playing!
Quite the funny game! I enjoyed how you can just talk about horses and fratricide hahaha
Thanks for playing and rating. Yeah the writing was a blast and we definitely went to some buck wild places with it.
I love the art and it is so fun to play!
Just in general a very chill and silly vibe, great!
Thanks for playing! We only had one "true" artist, so we had several people giving pixel art a go for the first time with this project. We're happy with how it turned out.
Took me a bit to figure out what was going on, but once I got it I had a good time. I even replayed it multiple times to see what different answers would get me :D
Glad you tried it several times! We wanted a game that would be repayable to see all of the dialogue. We recognize now that we probably should have added more as far as a tutorial, but we kind of just ran out of time and had to make sure we got it in before the deadline.
I love the vibe this game has. It just feels very silly and fun!
Well, except Gog, screw that guy. I really don't care that you ate all your siblings!
Although, it is cool that another princess does care and that you can use that knowledge to set em up to get married together!
I did actually play all three routes since, if I'm correct, there's only one route which you can actually win? Could be wrong!
I think the art is very pretty, but the pixel density (I think that's what it's called?) between the characters themselves and UI doesn't really match, so it feels a bit disconnected at times.
Still, though, I love the character designs and I'm glad I got to play from the perspective of Rhae, since that is definitely my favorite design (not biased because I like dragons)!
Glad you also hate Gog! He's absolutely the worst. Thanks for trying out the different routes, and yes there's only one "true" ending. The idea being that you need to find his ideal mate or else he will get angry that you are setting him up with someone else and declare war. It's the kind of thing we'd like to make more clear in the final version. Yeah we only had one "true" artist with experience in pixel art, so we had several people trying pixel art for the first time as we just didn't have the time to make everything. So the art assets are a little all over the place. Looking back it kind of adds to the charm in a weird way though!
Rhae absolutely rules :)
I like the art and humor. Nice attention to detail letting text go faster if you click. Makes a big difference for a text-based game like this! Rhae is also kinda cute just sayin. Lots of text!!!
Also wooo nice to see another Godot dev.
I'd appreciate it if you check out my game too if you have a minute!
That's funny I was just reviewing your game! Major props to you, anyone reading go check it out!
Oh, funny coincidence! xD
Thanks for the nice comments and nice job on your game as well!
This was very funny. I was left a little confused at some of the dialogue, but when I did catch on it was very entertaining. Good job overall!
Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, we have a very peculiar sense of humor. Glad you had a good time with it!
We all know that frogs make horrible husbands; they change species when you kiss them. :P
and they taste like mustard!
A very unique interpretation of the theme. The game text is done very well. It would be even better if there were sound effects after selecting dialogue options to enhance the experience.
Thanks for playing and rating! Yeah we're planning on revisiting the game post jam and fleshing out some of those kinds of things. We have plans to add sound effects to denote correct or incorrect answers, adding a note keeping system for the player to keep track of each princess, and most importantly of all, a pause menu that allows you to quit the game!
Frogs!! :D
Frogs! They're good!
this game let me find love in my own way
Hopefully you didn't find love with Gog at least. Thanks for playing!
The art for the title screen as well as the characters is lovely! In a normal dating sim I would have gone for that praying mantis in a heartbeat! I like the idea of a dating sim reversed (our team actually had considered making such game)! If I could point out a part to improve on, it'd be on the clarity of how our answers are the "right" ones. Perhaps some visual feedback, or an audio queue could have helped in that regard to notify the player if the option they chose was the good one. Therefore if I struggled to understand when I did the right choice, I would imagine it could be slightly clearer in the writting too?
But perhaps it was only me who struggled with that part. Contratulations to the team!
Thank you for the feedback! Yeah it all kind of came together at the last second for us (thank god for the hour long extension) so there were a couple "nice to haves" we didn't quite get to such as feedback to the player and a sort of tutorial explaining how the conversations could effect the outcomes. We also can't take credit for the title screen, it was one of the few assets we got from outside sources. We're extremely proud of the game we put together though! It was all of our first times making a "full" game and we had a blast.
You can be proud of yourselves, great accomplishment for a first time making something like this!
