Not dead last, learned I suck, and then figure out how to over come it. Cheers!

Amazing work! The platforming was difficult, but not frustratingly so. Also, loved the color palette and the music was great too!

Really smooth movement, make me feel like spider-man

Music fits really good. Loved the gameplay and the artstyle/colour palette

Developer

Thanks! I love making palettes.

Slick and simple yet bloody challenging. Solid, polished stuff.

Absolutely no notes on this one, game is slick, art is nice, music fits perfectly. Can't think of a single suggestion that is not just a result of me being absolutely shocking at this kind of game. Great entry, well done.

Great concept for a game! I found it really difficult with the movement in the air, seemed a bit fast to me but I could just be bad lol

Submitted(+2)

Fun and fast paced platformer ! I loved it  ! Well done !

Not to boost your ego but so far this is my favorite game (Only about 7499 to go). Very good polish, has everything it needs to be a successful jam game

- I would have loved to either have no checkpoints so its full rage game, or not been able to go back to checkpoints, one level I kept falling and resetting my checkpoint which was sad

- I hit a bug at the boss somehow, I think after it exploded I tried grappling it and I froze, the timer didn't, and I could hear constant mechanical whining in my ears. Kinda horrifying if you think about it

Developer

hey! thank you for the feedback, yeah sadly you are the second person that reports this bug with the boss : (.

I fixed it already on a local build but sadly can’t be helped while the jam voting is going on.

hey if we keep pace as you go through, that’s top 500? hah, thank you so much for the very kind words despite the snags you ran into

I loved climbing this tower trying to better my time and climb the leaderboard. Once you get into a flow the game feels amazing. I wish misses were less punishing, but the speedrunning side of this is very real trying to find great skips, safe progressions, and pixel-perfect timings.

Developer(+1)

thanks for breaking our game as usual, you do have a special talent

I enjoyed the game a lot. The concept is really cool, the difficulty scales up nicely and there’s even a boss fight! Congrats for this amazing entry

It's pretty fun, but I find that missing the hook point is really frustrating because the margin of error is really small and the animation that plays staggers the robot midair so it feels extra punishing and not in a fun way :(

When you can get in the rythm it's great, but when you're out of it it's frustrating!! If I were you I'd add slight hookshot magnetism to account for that, making the game feel more responsive and fluid, but that's just my opinion

Developer

thanks for the feedback! this was a hot topic debate during development (how punishing the hookshot misses should be)

unrelated, your profile picture art is incredible

Submitted(+2)

Simple to understand and just good classic platforming! Really enjoyed it. Only feedback is as others have mentioned, the movement is a little too fast for me to full control properly

Developer(+1)

thanks for checking it out and providing feedback!

definitely slowing it down some amount would be positive (actually was a constant point of adjusting during development - making it slower, but still wasn’t enough in the end)

The music and art is so good! I think the left and right movement is a little to fast though but a very cool game overall.

Developer(+1)

thanks for the feedback, we slowed it down a few times during development, probably could have gone down a bit more indeed!

Submitted(+2)

I love the style!

Developer

Thanks! :D

Phew, did get a sub 10 on my first try, but pretty much as close as it could have been. Actually surprised it took so long for me to find a climbing game. This is a really promising start! I like the mechanical idea. The controls and hitboxes need some fine-tuning I think (I'd prefer if there was no key repeat and every hookshot action had to be manually initiated) and the camera moved a bit too much for my taste, but none of those issues are deal-breakers. The music could have really needed a B-section. All in all, a pretty good entry, maybe I'll give it another go one of these days!

Enjoyed this a lot! Satisfying to get through quickly, music gets a bit repetitive when re-trying, though an overall solid experience :D

The game is really challenging, but in a good way! I think the collider of the hook good be a bit bigger (but once I got confident with the cotrolls it wasn't a problem anymore). Some jumps needed a hole lot of precision, which was difficult to achieve. Nonetheless the core gameplay is really polished and the art style and sound is simply amazing. Very cool game!
