This was such an awesome throw back, and it was made for a jam!? HOW did you make something so solid in 48 hours!? I think you guys should expand on this, I really liked it haha. Great music, solid sound effects, zero issues or glitches I just wanted a gun for that ending! Amazing jobs my dudes!

thanks a ton for the feedback. I’m actually working on a feature length survival horror game with a completely unrelated story. I stumbled on the game jam and decided to give it a try. I’m using a bunch of assets I created at the beginning of the year before I knew the direction of my main game. I was able to repurpose them for this jam and take them out of the graveyard haha. So without asset creation the only thing I had to focus on was creating a story and programming in the game specific things like cutscenes and puzzles, since I have existing character controllers, camera system etc.

The music is also all of the music I won’t be using for my main game haha.

oh haha and the gun, I have a WIP gun system but since it was incomplete I decided to leave it out.

Very interesting game. The bgm and the sfx amazingly blended with the environment that you created. The camera movements were top-notch. I found the controls a bit weird for the first few seconds but then it was actually fun. Really enjoyed it. Well done!

Really well done - fantastic use of camera angles. I'm super impressed how much you put together! Definitely would have played a longer version in the future.

thanks a lot for the positive feedback! I’m glad you enjoyed it. It just so happens I am making a feature length game 😉

Brilliantly made and executed! Really faithful to the original style. Super creepy and engrossing. Well done! Cool ending, too!

I am beyond impressed that this game looks this good and is made in the same engine that I use! What a cool game, nice job!

You do an excellent job at replicating the RE style without feeling like an imitation. I particularly like how you incorporated the theme -- about halfway through, I was wondering how you would make it work, but that just made it all the more satisfying when it happened. Very good stuff!

I love the visuals, the camera angle, the sounds, and everything you put in the game really feels like I'm back in my childhood home and playing something like the Resident Evil. I like the twist at the end (assuming I got the bad ending) and everything played smoothly. This is really well made.

Awesome game! Only thing I would have done (If you had more time of course) was render out images as the environment like in RE. But your take felt very close, Mabey even better!

Developer(+1)

thanks! I think I’m not a good enough artist to do pre rendered environments. I took the silent hill approach with fully rendered 3d environments and dynamic camera to play to my coding strengths instead.

Mate, amazing entry! Super well polished and feels just right. Loved the PSX Style aesthetics and level design was great too!

I also really enjoyed the little homages to Silent Hill and Resident Evil with the soundtrack choices and placements! And I especially loved the little bobbing effect the camera was doing to create a sensation that someone on the other side was watching over you!

5/5 Well done!

Hey thanks for the great feedback. I really appreciate it. It’s very encouraging knowing someone had a good time playing it. I’ll give your game a play sometime today and leave some feedback and rating as well.

Very impressed with the execution as a RE fan myself (especially that it is developed in Godot).

FYI: Godot supports exportation to Web, it would give u better chance of people playing your game.

This could be the base for something much bigger!!! Keep it up! Rated!

thanks, I was really trying to get that RE feel. Those are some of my favorite games.

I considered exporting to web, but I was just too burned out by submission time to fiddle with it.

P.S. I am actually making a feature length survival horror game. The assets used in this short jam game are all assets I had created during my discovery phase and ended up not using. I thought the jam would be a perfect place to give them some use. (The zombie, and the dolls on the shelf are the only assets that will appear in my full game)

Great atmosphere, and I like the visuals and camera system. Reminds me of the original Resident Evil games.

Enjoyed this a lot, the music was great (although did randomly cut out every now and again!) and the story was interesting.

thanks! I appreciate the feedback. I will give your game a play once I get home today.
