This game is definitely not for me and that makes me sad not knowing anything about chemistry. It looks like a lot of fun
There no knowledge of chemistry required! Try to connect atoms to score points, it's not accurate to real chemistry at all :) (although it has a bit of a learning curve)
Thanks for playing! :D
As a trained chemist and self-proclaimed roguelike deckbuilder aficionado, I love the idea of a chemistry-based deckbuilder. I just wish it had a little better chemistry in it, if that makes sense? Right now, it seems more like a poker roguelike with chemistry theming. Paying attention to valence electrons would be cool (for example, the water molecule on the title screen that was connected H-H-O kinda hurt me a little bit) and maybe a couple more interesting molecules than just water and hydrogen. Maybe sticking to non-metals would help for a start. Cause if this was based a little more on actual chemistry, I could totally see this become a fun game with educational value!
So cool to hear a chemist played my game haha. There was definitely a phase in the design where I considered going full accuracy. But I settled on focussing to make a more fun experience, I just couldn't make a accurate and fun game in the short time span.
I'm definitely debating on continuing development on the game, and how I could incorporate actual chemistry with it (chemistry is just really complicated and it's difficult to make easy-to-get and fun gameplay from it)
Very nice ! I like the fact that playing and creating molecules are done using rigidbodies, making you manage your molecules for them not to play themselves. It adds an enjoyable layer of micromanagement on top of an already strong deck building game !
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the physics, I also thought adding that, combined with the shaking of the atoms, would add a nice extra layer :)
I wish I had this when I studied chemistry in high school!
Joke aside had a ton of fun! Once it clicked I really got into it. Loved how varied the modifiers are between each round. And you even made a card booster pack system! Thats awesome.
If I could give one suggestion it is to signal the atoms in the cheat sheet differently from the actual attom cards. At first, I thought I needed to chain atoms from the same color.
Thanks for working on this!
I really wish I weren't dumb lmao.
This is really cool though, I feel like this will encourage people to learn chemistry just to get further in this game.
Very fun premise & gameplay! Really interesting concept that's executed well!
Oh helllllllll yeah. A chemistry deck builder roguelike is exactly what I needed. I only had a limited amount of time to play this due to travel restrictions, but damn this is polished, clean, and super fun. Saving this one and coming back to it later once I have more time. Very excellent submission
I really like this game, clean UI, calm sounds. It's beautiful!
Pretty surprised to see so little subimissions that work on the atomic/molecular scale! Nice work!
Very clean UI, but I think I know to little about molecules to be good at the game :)
Such a fun concept and unique spin on deck builders! I think it would be nice for the round to automatically end once you hit the score goal, as I was a little confused at first as to what "redraw" vs "end turn" did.
I liked the game mechanic. The cards and style felt well thought out and executed. I would definitely need more time to understand all the mechanics. Very well done!
I'm too dumb for this one...
nice job, tho!
Really nice game. The concept is very unique and the game is simple enough to be understood but challenging enough to be fun. Also, the visuals are really impressive and the whole flow of the game is quite consistent. I believe the only thing this game is missing is some more sounds or background music which might be able to give it some life, as it results a bit dry if your not going through the cards of making any actions.
So good that, despite softlocking 10 minutes into the game, I refreshed the page to continue playing. Banger potential!!!
The idea is original and neat. I like the tidy and smooth style in the animations and visuals. Impressive!
