Hi and greetings from the stream! As promised, I finally got the time to play your game.
I reeeeeally like the concept and idea. The relationship between the "scaling screen" and its effect on the FPS world are sooo well executed! Seeing the giant moon in the sky was a great WOAH moment for me, as well as as seeing the water level and heat / cold relationship.

About the gameplay, I don't think I can add anymore than what has been said in this comments before. It's easy to cheese some sections, but don't let that deter you. These are no big issues and if you were to go back to the game, some iterations and in depth playtesting will do.

Overall great fun and some interesting ideas!

Also, have you played Outer Wilds? The transition between FPS and Scale mode, gave me such vibes!

suuuper creative idea, and always love to see marble runs. crazy what 10 people can do from the ground up!

Thank you to the dev who came to my stream with this! LOVE LOVE LOVE the concept and vibes. I mentioned on stream that it would be nice if the music didn't start over every time you tabbed over, because I'd love to be able to hear the full soundtrack through without staying on one screen for a long time. Would be excited to play a fully realized version of this someday. Thanks again, good job!

So I kind of have to point out the elephant in the room, that is the quite few bugs (mostly inconvenient, and you could argue the ending cutscene one is game breaking but I digress), the very choppy performances and the occasional wonky physics.

With the boring stuff out of the way, man this is such a cool concept. I'm not a huge puzzle game player but I can see the bread crumbs leading to some real creative stuff. I wish the game explored more than what is effectively a boulder pushing game but I can't deny what you got in your hands can easily evolve into something great. Coordinating such a huge team as your first time jam is also crazy. I don't know if the lot of you plan on continuing this project, but I am totally curious to see where this all leads if you do! Also the assets are really cool and the style piques my sci-fi nerd interest so you got that going as well.

Thanks for pitching me your game, if this is any proof then your game making future is very promising.

Really interesting game. Unfortunately I had a very persistent issue right at the beginning. The boulder would consistently just roll off the stone path. And once it did, I was just stuck. I have retried like 5 times, and it happens every time.
Otherwise looks fun.

Developer

Hey, you can actually reset the boulder with R as listed in the hotkeys inside the game! Also changing the gravity changes the physics of the ball. Pushing it harder/lighter also makes a difference :D. Thanks for playing!

much much respect for the ambition going on here.

sure it has some issues and jank (to be expected for something like this done in such a short time) but you guys put together something really cool.

having not seen the images before playing I kept getting surprised by the different levels (space, first person)

This is such a cool take on the build theme - I enjoyed it despite it not being the normal type of game i'd play - The art work was also amazing!

I was quite confused until I realized that Tab would send me into Iron Man mode. The modifying of planetary scale and bodies to affect the puzzles is so awesome and feels so great to discover.

Submitted(+2)

The concept is really unique and there's a lot of puzzles that come to mind that incorporate it. I think that I ran into the same problem as everyone else where turning up the gravity and heat all the way allowed me to skip most of the puzzles. I had some issues with the boulder puzzles, it felt like there was a very specific gravity I was intended to get it to but I couldn't figure out what it was. I liked the animation of transitioning between the planet and the character but after a few switches of it, I started to get a little tired of it, I just wanted to get the planet adjustments. So maybe make the animation play only at the beginning of the level. I also didn't fully understand that the sun could be moved in closer until I was clicking and scrolling rapidly in space to figure out what the arrow was talking about. I feel that this was a very ambitious and creative project and the scale (hehe) was a lot, I use unreal engine and can tell that a lot of work has gone into this. I think after implementing the changes people are suggesting here and watching some good playtests then you'll really be on to something awesome! You definitely have a good starting point.

Very beautiful game with an aweing sense of scale. Manipulating celestial bodies to affect the world is a really cool mechanic, and the visuals really sell the incredible scale of the game. Awesome work!

Submitted(+3)

Really enjoyed playing through this (and trying to boundary break it) on stream! The visuals of moving between the surface and space were really cool and I loved the mechanics of changing the scale of the planets and sun to affect the surface and solve puzzles (almost zero gravity ftw). Can't wait to see more from you guys!

very good concept that must be hard for the level designer to create the puzzle right.  the aesthetic aren't really good looking as their is no followed DA. and the control need way more tuning !  But great submission !

(+2)

Unique concept for the theme. A puzzle game that requires the use of planets, moons and the sun to change the scenario for the puzzle solve. Congratulations for your first game jam.

Submitted(+3)

Really intriguing concept. I love the changing of planets and the impact on the landscape. However it isn't currently well utilised. I finished the game (there was no place to go forward after the 2 balls, a simple "You have finished the game" would be appreciated) by setting all the planets properly only once. I think that with some more polish and cleaver puzzle design it could be turned into an amazing game.

really unique concept and the vibes are great! level design is nice to look at :)

This game looks amazing, but it lags my computer so hard

Thanks, yeah, a dedicated GPU is necessary to run Unreal games!

Wow.... I really tried the game and I will start by saying the good parts and then the bad parts... The good thing about the game is that it is looking decent, the music is ok and the concept/idea of the game is really unique.

Unfortunately I couldn't be able not to observe a lot of problem with the game, so I will try using also screen shoots and explain for some problems what is the problem and how should be fixed... So the problems I found about the game are the following :

1.During the first level when I encountered the first boulder, I tried pressing it to see where it is going and it actually opened the door to the second level after the boulder was able to reach a mechanism... The problem was that I was walking in all places and even tried to jump over the door to the second door (I couldn't and I give you credit for that), but it took a while to understand what I was supposed to do to open the door.

2.The game didn't have any pause menu and I found it difficult to restart by exiting and re-entering the game. The "R" button restart just the boulder positions, but I highly suggest you to create a new option that restart the player position to the last checkpoint.

3.The concept of the game that it let you change your gravity is both good, but also really bad, for example I was able in the second level to jump out of bond and discover some small little problems...

Did you think that I stopped there ? Nope... I tried to see how well the game kept the player from the outside world, but then I found this :

I really enjoyed the view especially with a good coffee in the morning... Aaaahhh to be a beginner dev... I also found this :

Beautifull isn't it ?

4.During my "out of bound journey" I discovered a little problem with the boulder (but it is optional).

5.Returning to a specific screen shoot, THE LIGHTING IS LOOKING WEIRD. In the following image you can see that there are some lighting rays that are not supposed to be there, because there are no openings in the rocks, so the problem may be from the way the boulders are constructed... Maybe that inverted/not-existing face let the light pass through some boulders...

6.I didn't know what to do in the last level, because I tried pushing both boulders, but still they didn't open anything and they just remained underwater... So I did what I knew I did the best and tried to force my way to those 2 gates, but unfortunately it didn't help me at all and what I passed the second gate I remained in that corner without the possibility to jump back and had to re-enter the game because the "R" button didn't reset the player position and also because there was no pause menu.... I will put some screen shoots, just in case you think I am lying...

7.During my jumping over the gates (mentioned at number 6) I also saw that the water wasn't moving and it didn't bother me, but still, the use of some shader code will make the game more worthy to be called and "AA game". I put an image below as reference...

So that's all I could come with the problems in the game... This comment isn't meant to judge you for your problems, I am just a chill guy that like to rate beginner devs game so much that I want to show them how dedicated some players may be.

For your first game it was an amazing idea and it had a nice concept, the single problem that it really need to be solved is the way the player is guided... The player need to know what those boulders do... I myself tried to figure it out but it was without success... Then when I was out of bonds I realized that there isn't any next level so I left it as it is... So good job, and be carefull with these mistakes, because it may ruin the experience in the game a bit...

Also the itch.io page f the game is just plain white and it make it look boring and also during the night, it may be a bit too powerfull for some players eyes so a darker tone to the game's page would be a really good way to make the game look better.

Good job again, and hope to see a reply soon.   :D

Yeah... I am glad that I was able to help. Keep the good work ! :)

This looks great, changing the planets position, size, and the sun is a very clever puzzle mechanic but it create a constant transition back and forth which can be a little annoying. Maybe if we can shortcut the transitions once you seen it the first time, that would good.
