it was really fun, with an simple but addictive game loop
Nice game! Well done. I got hooked without realizing it :D
Cool crafting game ! I like the roguelike upgrade mechanic, even though I think it made me a bit too powerful too fast, I just stacked upgrades that doubled the value of my scales and helped produce it faster, and just sold them directly, and that made me win the game ^^'
Having one screen for the shop and one for crafting is a bit tedious, as one always have to switch between the two to know what to craft.
Besides those few points, really good job, that's a beautiful game that kept me playing for a while !
We balanced for the easy side for the game jam.
This was really relaxing and it was so polished. Great job :)
At first i tought it was gonna be really complex, but it was actually a nice chill game!
Little bug report: When you try to craft 2 of the same objects you first need to select anothet object and then craft the second wich is pretty annoying sometimes
Nice job overall!
A very fun game built on a really nice idea! Good looking UI and art style. It has potential for expansion!
An interesting concept with a fun gameplay loop. Nice art and music, and a good UI. It was a little frustrating to spend all my AP trying to get one of the resources from a dragon, only to repeatedly get the other resource, but once I got the card to harvest both, it became a lot less tedious. Overall, I enjoyed the game a lot and was a bit sad when it ended.
I spent a long time on this game it was so much fun! Great entry!
I kept failing lol. Cool concept. I was addicted to crafting the items. And music was relaxing. Great job! Can I show game-play of your game in a video?
Glad you liked it, you can show gameplay in your video, you should also link it as a reply, so we can watch it!
Thanks! Finally finished editing one video. I'm still learning the whole YouTube process. Congrats again on your entry. Playing Games from GMTK Game Jam 2024 is the link. I deleted my comment on the main comments thread, as this is related to your game jam entry. Cheers.
Really nice, all the menus look good and feel good to click through and a nice vibe alround. I never felt in any danger though/overly challenged, my money quickly rose to double my target amount and stayed there so there were little stakes to any individual day, maybe balance with some negative daily cards?
We intentionally balanced it for the easy side for the Jam. Once we got the balance we liked it we reduced the gold requirements by about 10%
I would suggest adding more options for crafting possibly by using crafted items to craft more items and some more upgrades for like shop slots would make the game more fun to play longer. It was a bit exhausting clicking between the shop and the factory, but other than that the game was amazing. Amazing art and music and well balanced levels, wish it was longer.
The shop system was originally designed much differently, but we had to cut it for a more basic one.
Really satisfying game, I spend a long time on it. The art is great and the levels well balanced. I just found the fact of opening and closing menu quite exhausting : being able to see the craft menu and the shop in parallel would have been better.
I thought the same when I submitted it!
Hard to think it's a game jam game, amazing game, nicely done !
The art for the game looks really good, but at first I was confused because there was a lot of information all at once. However, when I understood what to do, the task system made it easy to know what to do next and I managed to get lots of gold to give to the dragons. A suggestion I would have is that there wasnt much motivation to collect, make and sell stuff. Anyway, well done on completing the game :)
I wanted to do a little story pop-up at the start of the game, explaining why you are doing what you are doing.
That's a very impressive entry! Very polished and neat graphics! It may feel easy but it lets us enjoy all the game has to offer!
We balanced the game on the easy side for the Jam.
Very entertaining game!
Very fun concept with satisfying art style and execution. Well done!
Cool idea and i like the rogue-like elements. The visuals are clean and the soundscape is relaxing, which works really well for this kind of game. I do feel that at the moment it is a bit too easy, mainly because you keep leftover money from one quest to the next, so if you start out strong, it's hard to fail. I would have also like to be able to check my bonuses to see where i was still lacking/which to choose next.
If you want to take it further, I think it would be cool if different customers gave different prices, depending on their preferences, and if you could use crafted items to craft even more high-priced items. Maybe even make it so you don't know who's in the shop before you start crafting, making it so you might need to sell some stuff below market price just to make ends meet? Anyway, lots of potential here!
Oh, and two (very minor) things i noticed: First, when you get 2 of each (or more) when harvesting, the two ressources seem to overlap somewhat. Don't know if that was intentional?. Second, i think the water amulet has the wrong name (was shown as 'Lapix elixir' for me). I'm aware that those are tiny things and they have no impact on my rating, just thought you might want to know ;)
Thanks for the feedback, time limitations, and having programmers drop out midway through without contributing anything (a programmer came in on the last day and saved the game) made it hard to hit every wishlist polish item.
Oh man, that sounds super rough! Makes me even more impressed with the end product!
Really fun idea, we love all the art, and the bonuses you can pick from at end of each day are a fun way to maximise profits. Awesome stuff!
Really nice art and audio. Unique idea for the theme. Good job!
