Beautiful game! I love the concept and the art! I don't know why, but I kept getting stuck in the shop window. Nice work!
I had so much fun playing your game!!
I wish it had more ways to get ressources and that the game was longer :D
Would buy the full version to play on my spare time <3
I have satisfied the dragons! =D Really cool game, fun to play, I really enjoyed it
Very good designed managment game with neat art and aesthetic. Really nice UI. Great work!
This is an interesting take on the theme scale. Well done! I like the art and the music. The overall vibe is nice. Congrats!
Very cool game! Everything felt super polished. The gameplay felt very satisfying, and the reward cards were very well designed. I can see hints of possible different routes that path the way to victory, which really adds to the replay value of the game. My only suggestion would be to maybe add some juice to the game. Maybe size up the dragon just by 5-10% when hovered, and shake the screen or the crafting window a tiny bit when crafting is completed (you've already added the hammer sound, so why not?). I think these would really add great value to the overall feel. But overall, amazing game, had loads of fun!
really loved the gameplay loop and the gamefeel was great! such a great job. my only feedback is it felt a bit easy, i had lots of leftover resources and didnt feel like there was any chance i would miss the targets
We intentionally balanced on the easy side for the Jam.
fair enough!
It was really cool! I love management games like this, and the dragons are adorable. The art style really highlights and adds a charming touch to the game.
I've also made a small list of improvement points since I find the game very good and just a few adjustments could make it even better! I think some icons are misleading, like the jade amulet which looks too similar to the elixir potion, making it easy to confuse them. Also, in terms of UI, it would be better to have less clicking between the shop and the crafting (for example, having the shop list on the left and crafting on the right, so you can see both simultaneously and avoid mistakes like confusing the jade amulet with the elixir potion). Since there are rare cards, we rarely choose other cards in terms of balancing. In the shop, there’s also little incentive to choose those offering small rewards, as there’s a huge gap between 'raw' and 'crafted' items in terms of value.
Despite that, for a first jam, it's super high quality, and I hope you’re proud of yourselves because you definitely should be ^^
If you want to check out our game, feel free to do so :3 https://butterflan.itch.io/spicy-king
Thanks! I had so many tasks on my Polish list that I couldn't get to them due to time. This is our 4th time entering the GMTK Game Jam. And most of us have done other Jams in the past as well!
Excellent management sim with wonderful art - those dragons all have such distinct personality to them! - and a really strong core gameplay loop. Really appreciate that you've kept the difficulty on the easier side for the jam, was exactly what I needed :)
This is incredibly polished, UI feels great to use and really intuitive and the sfx does a really good job giving feedback for each action.
That's a very different take on the theme, congrats on that! Also, the art style is really good.
I'm a fan of management games so I'd love to see what it would be like if/when it is developed further. Congrats!
The art is so good!
A cool art style mixed with a fun gameplay! Congratulation to all the team for making this!
I loved the way this game used the theme of the gamejam! Very creative, and fun gameplay. Good job!
I love management style games, and this is no exception! Very good game!
As for the Game Jam submission I don't really consider that referencing to it by using "scale" literally is a good fit, I interpreted it more like having a scaling factor implemented in the gameplay.
Other than that I really like the gameplay, it reminds me of luck be a landlord etc... the art is also very polished, I would love to see this developed further!
Very polished, very enjoyable, and I think it stopped before it became too tedious. Really good use of sound effects to juice the game up! UI was amazing and lots of small quality of life choices, like how you can just click on the wanted item and craft it, just made it easy to focus on making the choices! And even with the very simple tutorial, I felt very quickly I knew what I needed to do!
Only thing I think I would like, maybe a harder mode, something where maybe each dragon gets jealous if you favour one dragon too much?
Dragon jealously is a good idea! We balanced the game on the easy side for the Jam.
It's very beautiful, simple and relaxing! I saved your game, waiting for a calm moment to return to it. Thanks for the work!
I have satisfied the dragons! The game was simple but extremely well executed!
Creativity:
Super creative game, if i had an issue it's that the game quickly became repetitive and extremely easy. If the game gets more content i would love to play it, but overall the game is really well done.
Art:
The games art is immaculate for a game jam, the animations worked and there's honestly not much i can bring to the table, props to the artist!
Sound Design:
Music was pleasant to listen to and fit the game very well, the game comes with a full set of sound effects and they are well balanced and fitting for the game as well.

This is a very good entry and you should be proud, the gameplay loop could use some work but you made a real gem! Good job! :)
We balanced the game to be easy for the game jam, we also had to downscope the gameplay loop, the shop was boiled down from the original version due to time constraints. I have seen various people lose at the game. Our artists and sound designer did a wonderful job!
Neat little game, I couldn't see how much gold I needed to survive, but apart form that it's a very fun gameplay loop, good job.
A Quests panel at the top left of the screen would show how much money you need after you finish the tutorial quests.
I wanted to spend 30 minutes rating several games tonight... I ended up spending 30 minutes on this game.
Very nice on every point !
Great job
Never played a crafting style game before. This was alot of fun. Very professional looking game. Congrats.
