I think this concept is great! I enjoy the wonder around and find enemies instead of it being wave based. Would be cool to add a reason to go back to your camp.
I did feel like my scale dropped from shooting a bit too quickly. To the point where I'd get big, but the moment I start firing I'm small again. Took away from the needing to balance your size aspect.
Interesting concept! Found the aiming of the enemies a little to accurate especially when you get small and need to close the distance. But overall its a well put together game!
Gameplay is on point with this one, just needs polishing of art and music
Such a fun quick game! really well done! One of my favorite games!
The graphics department definitely need some improving, and the twin-stick shooter genre is really overused in game jams, so i usually try to stay away from them. But the gameplay is nice and fast pased, the shooting feels really nice, and it also has some depth withe managing your scale. I am not sure about the wild west theme. The machine gun like shooting would fit better with some 1930-s gangster style. But overall, the gameplay is solid. (If you can find the time i would love if you have reviewed my game)
Fun game! The screen shake is a bit too much, but otherwise the game feels very fluid and impactful.
It reminds me a lot of old flash games (in a good way), well done!
Very action-packed and chaotic—loved it!
Very fun and thrilling, love the idea that shooting makes you weaker, but the only way to get stronger is to shoot. Very fast paced, but did find it a bit difficult, and I wish there were just a couple more mechanics added.
A fun game! Despite the simple look, the game ends up being very addicting and the idea of using scaling as a resource to defeat enemies is quite clever. However, I found the game difficulty a bit hard.
I found the scale mechanic quite confusing. Sometimes it costs scale to shoot, sometimes not. Sometimes it recharges automatically, sometimes coins stop the recharge... So I destroyed five camps, then got into a firefight with some big fellas, somehow shrunk very rapidly and died :(
Sorry to hear that you didn't have smooth and clear experience. I'm aware that some polishing is missing and not everything is well communicated in game. I've updated game description:
- your scale will auto regenerate to 1 if you're out of fight
- shooting is free if you're scale is below 0.5
- enemies will drop scale gems only if you kill them (not if they run into you and die)
Thanks for your comment.
That was cool, good balance in difficulty :)
This game was awesome! i found the gimmick of your size is equal to your ammo very cool and gameplay was fun, but my only piece of advice is make the world border a different colour
Reminds me aboudt some old browser games like agar.io
Fun but hard, what I would have done was split the game in waves but all in all, Well Done!
really cool :)
Very interesting. I like the risk and reward aspect.
I'm surprised to see that one of the first games I tried is actually one of the main ideas we had (and ended up ditching due to scope!).
I think you're on the right track here - some exploration with varying degrees of difficulty. However, and I see you're aware of this, the difficulty is a bit too unpredictable. This is probably due to the fact that spawns are random and you can face huge enemies right off the bat, and that your health is too proportionally tied to your power. Perhaps if could be worth exploring some variation where being smaller makes you stronger (e.g. shoot faster and consume less ammo)? Like a glass cannon.
You should definitely further explore this idea of "explore and conquer". It really brought a smile to my face that we were not alone in thinking this concept could be interesting.
I'm glad that you liked it.
Scope was a bit ambitious, especially for solo entry ;)
These are really nice ideas, I'm definitely gonna explore them.
Seems like a fun game but I really struggled with the technical issues - there were frequent large FPS drops and the player aiming is affected by the camera easing, which means he doesn't aim where the crosshair is. Looking past those two things this is a good quality shooter.
Thank you!
Sorry for the technical struggle. Unfortunately I didn't fix all of them on time.
I'm glad that you've still enjoyed playing my game.
