How does your game fit the theme?
The more Jumbo your Pumbo gets, the bigger the threats. Also, you must literally build platforms to scale the gourd.

Great game ! Good take on the theme and really good art! Well done :)
Thank you!
You've definitely got something great here. We had a similar idea for growing a tree and scaling it but it wouldn't have been as strong as this execution. The loop is satisfying, the style and vibes great, overall very well done! I'd love it if your team checked out my game and rated it as well!
Thank you so much, glad you had fun! I should probably sign off for tonight (gotta go make up some of that game jam sleep debt, haha) but I've opened your game in a new tab so that I'll see it first thing when I open Chrome tomorrow and remember to review it, assuming someone else on the team doesn't get to it first :)
Nice take on the theme!
Thanks!
The game loop is so satisfying. This is the longest time I've spent with a submission thus far.
Thanks! Glad our plan to trap our players is working >:]
such a cute, goofy game lol, i love it! the artstyle is nice, the mechanics are nice, its really well polished and clean, it has high replayability with the shop, overall a great underrated game! i would think that this project would have taken months, but no, only 4 days!? all 5 stars!
Thank you so much! Not much sleep was had by anyone during those 4 days, haha, but glad that the end product was enjoyable!
Nice game, I really like the art.
Thank you!
Accidentally sunk a *bunch* of time into this one haha, great work!
Thank you! Yesss, our secret plan to ensnare our players is working >:]
This one is really cute. Top pixel art and nice music.
Thank you!
Loved shooing those pesky birds away.
Yes, those birds should go find someone else's pumbo to peck at >:[ Thanks for playing!
this is quite fun! the controls aren't really intuitive but i got it in the end! great job! sadly i cant post the photo
Thanks! Yeah, the controls definitely take a bit of getting used to at first, but they were the best out of the sets we tested during the jam. Definitely something we might want to iterate on if we come back to this game in the future!
Loved it!
Played for like an hour without noticing!
Really good entry :)
Also, i love how he doesnt harm the pests, he just tell them to leave hahaha
Thank you! Haha, our secret plan to make people spend too much time playing our game is working >:]
And yes, we do have some very polite pests in our game. Early on in development we also had yelling at weeds make the weeds go away, which I'm still a little bit sad is no longer the case!
Nice Game! The concept is great and the art is also appealing.
Thank you!
The artstyle is so inviting! I like you have to water multiple tiles and not just the pumpkin, it puts more pressure. Great game!
Thanks! We are really proud of the way the watering mechanic works. There’s a lot of logic to make the water spread out between tiles and to allow the pumbo to take water specifically from the tiles that it is over.
Glad you like the artstyle too! We do as well!
Very well done! The pixel art and animations are nice, and the gameplay concept and loop are interesting.
I could see myself getting addicted to a full version of this!
Thanks so much! We would love to make a full version if we are able to pick it up again post-jam (lots of spaghetti code to untangle, haha).
Very well done. One of the most enjoyable incremental games I’ve played recently. My pumbo scaled so big it covered the whole farm.
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed! Well done on being an excellent pumbo farmer =P
Omg I love this game! Really well done, the shop caught me by surprise and had tons of goodies!
Thank you, so glad you enjoyed our game and all the shop goodies! :D
My Pumbo got so big i couldn't jump on top of it and scare the crows! Really great idea and nice entry!! Happy Pumboing!!
Happy Pumboing! Sounds like you suffered from too much success, haha. Thank you for playing and reviewing, glad you enjoyed!
Don’t forget to build platforms to reach the birds and use fertilizer to grow that Pumbo! 7.4 meters is a pretty big Pumbo, but you can definitely go bigger!
A simple concept done extremely well. I was a little frustrated with the controls, but otherwise great game!
Thanks! Yeah, the controls do take some getting used to, but we tried some different configurations and thought this one was the best of the ones we tested. It's definitely something to think about if we revisit this game!
Awesome game! Love the artstyle and the Idea. The gameplay loop is realy satisfying, but the controls are a little but clunky.
Thanks! Yeah, the controls do feel a bit awkward at first, but unfortunately it was the best set of the ones we tried. It's definitely something we'll revisit if we keep working on this game!
If you continue working on that game and need some play test feedback I'm happy to help
Actually, we’d love to hear your thoughts about the controls! We iterated a few times but decided this was the best option. We figured a pick up/drop button, a context-sensitive interact button, and a create-platforms button all needed be their own buttons, and then that left the arrow keys for moving, jumping, and dropping through platforms.
Was there anything in particular you had trouble with, or was it just generally that there were a lot of buttons to keep straight?
I have to play the game again to give you that feedback. Played to many in the passt days to remember the exact controls. I currently have no access to a PC but when I'm back on Sunday I will give you the feedback :)
Hey I finally come to play the game again. I think for me the biggest point is the keybindings. Im just not used to play a game with 2 hands on keyboard and keys like Y,X,C are hard to reach. Maby think about using keys close to WASD like F, Q, E or R.
Also you could think about using the mouse. Clicking things like the birds and plants could feel satisfying.
Second thing is how much you have to press the buttons. The idea to pickup and drop the watering can each time feels kind of clumsy. Maby you could have a different button (or mouse) for using items and interaction (like scare birds) so you can hold on to the item.
I liked it! Good core mechanic, cute art, feels complete!
Sometimes platform placement was a little frustrating, might have preferred an option to click to place, although I do appreciate the minimal controls.
It was a little hard to figure out how composting worked. I also felt like watering was perhaps too weak at least without upgrades. It seems like it's almost never worth it to water except at the very beginning because after that you're too busy and compost works better / it won't last long enough to matter.
I didn't yet have time to play out how things feel in the end game.
Thanks for trying the game! I personally am terrible at platforming, so I understand your frustration at platform placement, but we also felt the midair placement added something to the gameplay.
The watering upgrades flavor text isn't lying, so I hope you play more to experience it ;P
