Nice idea and art style, good job!
thanks for playing!!
Nice game! I think I was not the best at it, but I had fun ^^. Well done.
Thanks!
Very polished and clean looking gmae and UI. Great work!
Thanks for playing and reviewing!
Well, my favourite game until now. 5/5. It's really polished, and the gameplay is amazing. I want this game to be in the video!
Many thanks! Glad you really enjoyed the gameplay, we too are hoping it goes noticed.
What an awesome game!! It seems like we both took the approach of "you build something in space and expand it", but still ended up with vastly different games. I really enjoyed playing yours and I'm going to be surprised if you're not somewhere in the top 100 when this jam is over. Super impressive!!
Thanks for you kind words! Top 100 would be amazing, high hopes though.
wow that is already a really polished game! Good work! :) It was really hard in the beginning, but after a few more tries I get the hang of it!
Thanks for playing! The difficulty is certainly a significant area of improvement.
Controls take some getting used to, but it's a really cool idea! First time i upgraded my ship i was a bit surprised that i lost all my gear from before, but it also adds some depth in your strategy. Presentation is really polished and coherent, great work!
Thanks for playing and reviewing!
The controls definitely could have been more intuitive, they were made floaty to emulate the feel of space and encourage upgrading rockets for more responsive handling.
I agree with you that the current ship configuration should have been saved when upgrading, the initial idea was to allow re-imagination of the design but it seems like it didn't quite work.
I really appreciate the feedback, will be very helpful as the game develops further.
Yes the floaty controls do remind me of asteroid-like games, so i do get where you're coming from. I think the balance is between speed & number of asteroids, initial rate of auto-fire and controls, compounded by the fact that you don't have any 'static' frame of reference (the only sens of speed you get is relative to the asteroids, so it's kinda hard to grasp if how fast you're moving). But those are hard things to get right in such a short timeframe, and overall it's a really cool entry ;)
kinda hard to control at first but its a very well polished game!
Im glad you liked the polish, since it took a lot of effort ❤️
This was a lot of fun to play! It definitely feels difficult at first and it took a lot of deaths before I started actually figuring things out, but I was eventually able to get the hang of it!
Appreciate the review! The difficulty could have been better with more time dedicated to balancing, but I'm glad you figured it out.
This is a very fun, stylish, well-executed game. I love the sound design and the upgrade mechanics. I think the balance is little off in the direction of too difficult, but it's still very playable. Nice work!
Thanks for the review! The difficulty balancing is one of the top prioritizes to improve the game.
thank u <3
The game is well polish and really pretty, love the art style and effects
I found strange that you have a thruster, but can move using WASD without using the thruster. Also losing everything you built when you upgrading the ship is strange and maybe a little annoying
besides that, I love the evolution and how you can setup different parts at different angles/directions, it can be very a strategic game
Thanks for playing, im glad you liked the polish, visuals and customizability!
The thruster was supposed to be an extra boost, and the spaceship would move constantly to increase the "Action" and encourage dodging, but I see how that could be annoying. Also definitely we would have found a way to maintain the current layout while upgrading given more time.
We really appreciate the feedback, many thanks!
Really cool! I liked the process of upgrading the ship and getting better, and the upgrading of the individual parts. The UI and the graphics in general are also great, and the music fits well. All around a great entry.
I didn't really like that I couldn't stop moving; it made trying to dodge the asteroids quite difficult and random-feeling, especially because you're always moving in the direction that you're shooting; it felt like the best strategy was to just fly in a random direction and just pick off the ones directly in front of you. But that isn't as fun as "hunting" them down.
Also, when you upgrade the ship, you don't necessarily have enough upgrade points to build enough parts to make a whole-seeming ship, which wasn't ideal. Getting the four spaces in the middle of the first upgrade to be blank pieces that could be replaced might have avoided that feeling? And/or giving the player the 100 points to use for upgrades in addition to whatever their current parts are worth?
thanks for the feedback and you can stop the ship with S but we didnt communicated that!
I like the idea but the game is a little bit too difficult for me, I'm afraid. Also, I don't think you mentioned the part where you can stop the spaceship using the S key (or if you did I missed it). I was gonna complain that you can't stop the ship but turns out you can (and it didn't help me at all).
thanks for the feedback and yeah we should add that to our guide
Game is very polished, the art is fitting together with music. The general idea is also awesome, I enjoyed building my spaceship. One thing though - I didn't expect my modules to dissapear after upgrading the ship. It's not an issue anyway, simply because the game is paused so you can build a new ship easily.
thanks for the feedback!
Cool game, nice execution and I like theUi layout and the graphics aswell. Nice work!
thank you :)
really nice and polished game! reminds me a lot of captain forever. tho i wanna echo what the other comments said about it being too hard to control. there's way too many asteroids to keep track of and there's a pretty limited FOV so you're bound to hit a ton of them one way or another. made it difficult for me to reach the later stages, i only managed to get to stage 2. otherwise, it's still a very pretty game!!
Thanks for the kind words! The difficulty could have definitely been more balanced given more time.
The game is incredably stylish and the gameplay loop is amazing aswell, but the ship kind of feels hard to controll. It seems to be very floaty, which is a problem seems the environment moves kind of fast. Nonetheless very cool game!
Thanks for playing and reviewing! The floaty controls were meant to feel like outer-space, and encourage upgrading the rockets to make dodging more responsive, but I can see how that could feel strange.
We appreciate the feedback and I'm glad you liked it.
Ahh that makes sense. I guess some sort of scaling would still be valuable, but nonetheless I kind off feel dumb for not considering this in the first place. Thank you
I really like the idea, and I like the graphics. The ship feels hard to control though: the fact that you have to face what you want to shoot without any possibility to brake at the start forces you to put yourself in danger, and the inertia of the ship makes it hard to avoid said danger. The UI looks nice but is kinda hard to read as you have to always keep you eyes on the ship.
That said, it's a pretty impressive entry, which fits the theme well and could easily get expanded into a full game.
Thanks for playing and providing feedback. There's definitely plans to make a full game out of this.
The floaty controls were meant to feel like outer-space, and encourage upgrading the rockets to make dodging more responsive, but I agree that it can add extra difficulty. There is a way to stop the ship by holding S, but we forgot to communicate that anywhere, apologies 😑.
Glad you liked it!
aesthetically this was really great! I found the controls a bit frustrating, might need a tweak imo. Maybe the base fire rate needs to be faster or something
thanks for the feedback and balancing seems to be the biggest issue, we gonna work on that!
Had a blast with this one! Music, artwork, gameplay, all of it was really well polished! Great job!
thanks for playing!
