The delightful idea of allowing the player to choose the unit's behaviour! Impressive!

Developer

Thank you! It took a long time to get it to work I'm so glad to see people appreciating it haha

The ending is a bit abrupt but overall it's pretty good.

Would be nice if it was easier to tell which of your creatures is which cause they all kinda look the same.
Oh, and on the later stages, their eyes were inside their bodies until they died.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! They originally looked much more distinct, but the later balancing builds broke the visual customisation unfortunately. Glad you enjoyed :)

Ah, that's unfortunate.

There's not enough compressions

Developer(+2)

hahaha god damn it, the meme has chased me from my stream. There's no bonking in this game, I will send people to your game for compressions :D

Submitted

This is what I expected from starcraft

Developer

That's a huge compliment to me, thank you! Glad you enjoyed designing your own over mind :)

Cool game! There are a large number of customizable parameters, and you can also further customize the logic of the critters' behavior. Just what I like)

Developer

Thank you for playing, glad you enjoyed :)

very good game and fun take on the theme! in a future iteration, it'd be nice to overhaul the UI and make the text a bit more readable. Icons would also be helpful to reinforce the meaning of the text.

Developer

Yes! Great ideas, thank you :)

Great use of the theme! It reminded me of Spore, which also came to mind when discussing what we would do with the team, so I am glad someone else did it!

I do feel like some of the stats you can increase don't feel very distinct from each other, maybe making their effects more isolated from each other would have helped. Or adding a number of how much it affects each attribute.

I was always looking forward to what resource the next level would introduce. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Adding good stat explanations and a pause in menus is definitely our first port of call post jam

Submitted(+1)

Pretty interesting idea for the game! I did feel like the stats were a bit confusing as while everything was red or green I couldn't really tell which of the attributes affected which stats the most, which I'd have to test by changing the stats themselves, only to forget by the next time I make new critters. Some kind of label would also feel useful on the different types of critters themselves. Otherwise I really liked the music and art and felt like it was really coherent together with a few minor polish tweaks I could see something like this doing pretty well outside the jam.

Developer

Thank you so much Dhafo! As a Team, we've worked hard for this jam.

Very fun idea and nice visuals (the cover art is amazing btw). Loved the initial story and the fact I had a huge amount of customizability on the gameplay - seems like I can create an infinite type of creatues. Good job!

Developer

Wow thank you for such a nice comment :) Glad you enjoyed

Am I the only one who feels guilty leaving all my critters behind?

Developer(+1)

Thats actually very sad I didn't even think of that.....are we the baddies?

Submitted

loooooved it, no notes! I hope you'll expand on this idea <3

Developer

thank you for playing and leaving such a nice comment :)

Spore-ish full game experience. Well done!

Thanks for playing!

This a really artistic game with nice visuals and a fun way to make units as I want to see the different mutations. I would personally reduce the stats to maybe 3: speed, visibility, and durability so that it is easier to manage. I also would like to know once we have unit spawning what they are by hovering of the pictures so that I know which ones I can get rid off and also it as hard to know and understand what the different stats do such as needed more visibility. One way to solve this might be to pause the game while I am editing a creature and then showing the range they will have

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I enjoyed seeing your experience live, despite it being scary when you hit a bug haha

I swear it was the first idea that we were going to do. Then we went for something absolutly different but in my mind I keep thinking "Will there be a game like that ?". And here we are !!

Developer

I hope we delivered on the fantasy :)

Love the concept! It reminds me of spore!  Great idea, well executed!

Developer

Thank you! Spore is a big compliment to me :)

Yess! Spore is awesome!

Very nice entry! The music and sound design are really good, I love the art and color scheme as well (the game banner looks simply amazing). Gameplay-wise it was also very nice, the pace lets us experiment with critters without feeling oppressed. Congrats!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I enjoyed your game too :)

Like it a lot ! there's a lot of improvement in term of QOL that could be done, but it already plays great as is. I like how  the minions change appearance depending on their stats, but they should look even more different from one another. Like the intro, the animations, the art design, and love that passive game core mechanic.

Some kind of endless mode would be very cool, with enemy getting stronger and uncapped stats scaling fir your aliens

Developer

OH man I would love to make an endless mode, that would be awesome. Thanks for the idea and thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

I really like the idea of making your own little aliens, feels almost a bit spore-like. I think you could have used a bit more playtesting though since I was pretty confused for parts of the game.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing!

I reached the stage where the All-mother started to look like a tall mushroom and... for about half an hour nothing new happened from that moment

I pumped up my soldiers and collectors, but I can't say that I understood how to move on to the next stage

The idea is good, unfortunately the game doesn't have time to explain why this or that characteristic is needed for units and you just quickly click big numbers and 4 types of units: mass collector, crystal collector, flux collector, and... a warrior with a high muscle indicator - after that you can sit back in your chair

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! For the last stage make sure you have someone to collect flux with high move speed, because flux is far away. I think the last stage and the ending would be worth seeing, there's a nice drawing as a reward :)

I think if I had time for one more build one of the main things I would change is making the game a bit slower, pausing when you're designing and an explanation of all of the stats and what they do

Submitted(+1)

The intro and theming is really good! Gameplaywise it feels really overwhelming at first, its a little hard to grasp every buton and mechanic. Still, very good game, congrats!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! It's a tradition for jam games to struggle with tutorialisation haha especially the types of games I like to design (much too big for a jam, complicated, stat based, autobattlers)

Appreciate the play though thank you!
