An interesting little game!
With a little more polish on the trick game and virus pong, this would be a tidy game with a great loop!

Really nice game. As a very passionate board player, I could only notice and enjoy the inspirations. Seeing others people comments, I think they didn't like how wordy the tutorial was which is not recommended in video games (unlike the many pages you can get opening a brand new board game). People only want to read and go more in depth with the mechanics when they already got to see what was fun in the game. Maybe a tutorial run even if it is very hand holdy could be a nice addition : a very small map sprinkled with informations in bubbles ( just like your screenshots ) with first, the type of tiles you encounter, then with the different ressources you collect and how they affect your deck, and finally a practice run in the village to understand the card game.
But the art definitely sells it and keeps you hooked on trying out for yourself and see what happens. I wish there were sound design and music building the intensity and setting the exploration mood even better. Keep it going !!
Thanks for playing and for your feedback !
Totally agree with what you said. Reading long tutorial texts is not very appealing in a video game. We have a lot of ideas to improve the game, and the tutorial is definitely something that need to be improved.
We plan on making some kind of tutorial run like you said. Where basically the player would start with a very simple game with very few mechanics to help understand the basics. And as he progress, more and more game elements will be introduced (fog of war, new tiles, new resources/card type, virus card, virus game, etc...). And some much needed quality of life improvements in addition.
Hope you can give our game another try when a new version will drop ! :D
Nice and short card game with great art.
Interesting gameplay, but it often felt too random regarding the cards I have and the enemy ai
Not too sure what part is built to scale here though. Is it the deck size?
Edit: I didn't look at the description
Hey, thanks for playing!
I think all of your ideas are true. There's a little too much randomness in the card-drop. We've already corrected this in our "what next"-plan. I'll definitely send you a message after the rating period to show you how we corrected these small balance issues when the new version is uploaded.
So glad you tried the game and left a comment!
As a board game designer myself, I really appreciated seeing a clever take on a card game.
Tying a map exploration with survival elements to a trick taking game that hides inside an arcade minigame is brilliant.
I'm definitely interested in playing your future games. ;)
Hey, I'm a board game creator myself and I'm super, super, glad to see your comment. Seeing that someone likes the "depth" of our game is very satisfying.
We plan to make other game jams with the same team. We know each other for years and have a real advantage to communicate as a team.
+ the motivating factor of our talented artist is real !
The art is amazing, one of the bests I saw until now.
The card game is really cool and well thought for a game jam.
I felt that the brick-break moment when we are infected were way too fast, and I couldn't even see what was coming.
Since I liked the game a lot, I wish we had a limit of movements to explore, or a more intense resource consumption. I am pretty sure you all thought about it as well, it was just a matter of time. Any way, great entry, congrats!
Interesting cad game, simple and good mechanics, well done!
Beautiful aesthetics. The virus part gives the game some very cool vibe. Wish to see what else can a player do with virus.
Really cool game! The virus part did feel a big weirdly tacked on for the sake of the theme, but it was still fun!
Gorgeous pixel art. I'm usually not that into trick taking games but I liked it here.
Interesting take. I thought I understood the card game, but I don't think I quite got it actually haha. Still, it's well done and the art is neat. I thought there would be a continuous thing of going from one island to the next and keeping your resources from a previous island, but it was nice anyways. I don't think the virus thing had quite a big impact as I thought it would
The virus thing, if not taken seriously, can impact your deck. Especially in the early stages of the run. It will add useless cards to your deck and make you lose a lot of resources in the negotiation phase.
Thanks for playing and leaving a comment, glad you found the game interesting ! If you need more explanations, ask !
Pro tips for the trick-taking card game ;)
Appreciate the comment ! It might not be the most intuitive game but it's not that hard. So make sure to read the tutorials before each different phase of the game. You can reset them in the starting menu, or/and also look at screenshots on the game page. (But we'll definitely makes some QOL updates once the Jam is fully over :p)
Hope this can help and hope you'll give it another shot !
I got the flu :(
I think the theme is a stretch but I still enjoyed the game!
