Its like Sokoban but musical and the difficulty increases too quickly and man is it hard. But its cool. Good job
An undo button instead of full reset would be nice. The game could use some music too imo, I get that you place the notes but it would be a nice adition that you create a full song and that it sorts of upgrade everytime you managed to place a block correctly.
Game itself is great tho and impresive that you made it in 4 days, good job!
youre right a music track would have made the experience more enjoyable, i like your suggestion of making the music dynamic which shifts and adds more notes/ elements to it as the blocks get placed correctly! thank you very much for your feedback and kind words!
and about the undo thing... every single comment is about it lmao so i guess i really should have added that feature somehow!
(i dont know how to implement an undo redo system, ill do some research)
This game looks and sounds great and the puzzle design is really fun and fits the concept very well! Also a very creative interpretation of the theme. There being a level reset button but no undo action button did make it quite frustrating, particularly the last level, but I can see that this has been mentioned a few times, so won't get too into it.
Very cool game!
I dig the concept of music scales as the centerpiece , like other comments and undo for 1 movement would be nice as the perspective lock sometimes can be tricky and get 1 piece stuck from a miss on a key. The C Major level took me a bit by surprise that scale-ated quickly :P
As the last comment said, i wish there was an undo button instead of having to restart the whole thing
idm restarting but since the puzzles take so long it gets repetitive quick
apart from that i really liked it
I wish there would be undo orz ( maybe there is and i didnt find it )
I like the difficulty curve that easily delivers the flow! And I really hope to choose level to see the scenery that I cant make it to.
This is what a real puzzle game should be like. I envy you lol
This game looks so goooood! For real, it’s really beautiful. I love the sound design behind it, too. The gameplay is fine and really polished. Such a good entry for the jam. Good job!
Really well made from the idea to the art. Had fun squeezing my brain into it. I get that you made less levels since it is a game jam submission maybe so the difficulty spiked fast. Absolutely stunning visuals and sound! Thanks for making it
Thank you so much! its really hard to evaluate a puzzle game without playtests (since, i already know the solutions and the exact paths that needs to be taken in order to win) but im glad you liked it! As you mentioned the difficulty indeed rises rapidly due to lack of transition levels but hey thats all i could do in the time. thanks for playing! (happy me)
I like this take on the theme, the style is great ! and the concept overall is nice but the game is slightly annoying when you misspress a button and you have to start all over lol. But overall its pretty sick !
great concept and interesting take on the theme, the execution was also really good. the only small thing is that i felt like it got hard too fast. and also i kept getting stuck cuz i would move one of the notes into a corner and had to restart all my progress every time. maybe u could make a border line around the flooring where only the player can move and move the blocks back. other than that amazing game and that too for your first ever game really well done!
thank you very much for the kind words! i know the difficulty curve is rapid, i only really focused on making the last level others were just put together in a hurry, there should have been more levels in between to smooth out the difficulty but i couldnt manage to do that in the given time:(
the game definitely needs an undo button, your idea of making the border line is also great! i even thought about it but i dont think i will implement that because some puzzles may use the cornering problem as a key element.
thanks for playing my guy!
(im so happy seeing comments like yours)
Love this take on the concept. I had a fleeting "what about musical scales" when I was thinking of ideas but quickly discarded it because I am not a musical person. I also think the art style while simple is quite effective and well done. I always appreciate a game jam game that manages to look "complete" for lack of a better word, so well done!
My only complaint is I'd love an undo/redo button, the command programming pattern could do wonders for this game!
Incredible fun game, your take on the theme is clever and the puzzles are not too easy or too hard. I quickly understood the mecanics too! :D
(I just learn by reading comments that people don't like the installer, I made the same mistake too, also my first game ^^")
I loved the style and concept of the game! I did miss the music for game about music notes. But other than that gold star! A nice simple fun puzzle game!
Cool consept, I dont know if its only me but there was no sound? Felt missing considering its a musical game. but still it was fun moving the notes around.
good job!
if you wana try out my game its here! - https://aviv-youker-harel.itch.io/scales-of-olympus
pretty fun and unique, the installer though... kinda scared me at 1st; but rest assured to anyone else seeing this, its pretty safe and u shud definitely give this game a try :)
Nice non-conventional take on the theme! I really like the art style and simple premise, too. I appreciate the time you took to make an installer for your game, but that's a point of friction for the user that might lead some people to pass it by. Overall, though, great work!
I'm pretty sure that a standalone build works even better than an installer, especially if the player is using the itch.io desktop app. I will say, though, that a large fraction of people who play jam games sort for only games that can be played in the browser, so I'd look in to building for WebGL in Unity. Just make sure that "Compression Format" is set to "Gzip" in Player Settings > Publishing Settings. Itch.io kind of breaks otherwise.
