How does your game fit the theme?
I have a robot that is programmed (build) to get fishscales. You can scale up your fishtank. Also the just like regular fish they adapt depending on your fishtanks size

Nice game! I like gradual increase in pace and difficulty, as you need to manage bigger mazes to gather more resources. I like the visual style, a combination of pixel-art and caustics works unexpectedly well. Overall with all the narrative and atmosphere, this creates a cozy but at the same time intence experience. I think you can make fishscales pickable by default, without having to press E, as there's no penalty and you would do it anyways, and there are situations when fishscale is close to gate and you may unintentionally buy it. Also, I didn't get how to deal with grown-up fish, there's just a chance that upon gate passage I will be immediately eaten and seemingly nothing I can do about it. Aside from that, I enjoyed my time in nice looking game. Great job!
Did not think about the accidental gate buying thanks for bringing that up! The big fish were a bit unforgiving and the instakill was something I sadly couldnt fix in time. Glad you liked it tho!
The gameplay loop is very fun. This has potential. You chose the perfect music for it. It would be cool if you added some kind of checkpoint and upgrades for the robot, like if some tanks auto-collected scales
I don't like how the assets seem mashed together from different asset packs and artists. All the assets are different resolutions, which just doesn't work in a pixel game
I really liked it overall! I hope you continue developing it
Yeah, ive copied a lot of asset packs and then switched them up when I made them myself but didnt have time to redraw everything. Thanks for the feedback!
I'd like more power-ups for the robot, maybe some little assisstants that help us collect scales. Overall, pretty fun game in such a short time! Great job.
Super fun! The art is gorgeous and the gameplay loop was really captivating. Enjoyed this a lot.
Vey nice game. My kids really enjoyed it. They kept telling me to get the scales. The eels that eat you in one bite were a little tough though. I was doing good and moved into a room right into one haha. After that I enabled cheats and had a gazillion dollars and opened everything. Good job. 5/5
Played the game again I thought I had to find a treasure to complete to day silly me. However three eels waiting at my exit/ entrances is devestating to my runs
Fun game, cute sprites and original idea. A bit too based on luck, but I like the game loop, it's fun to keep track of all the game elements, the way they mix together makes me feel "busy" in a "natural" way if that makes sense. Nice!
I like the idea, but the gameplay gets repetitive very fast. And I'm not too fond of the art either, seems like a weird mix of free art and self-made art, combining different styles poorly. But the controls are very nice though, it feels surprisingly good to control the character.
A fun way to use theme with some nice pixelart on display. I feel like the cost opening doors is a bit expansive since there is a lot of them. Good job !
Good risk/reward mechanic with the time limit and being able to buy access to deeper rooms
Pretty nice game. I like the music and game over sfx. I like that you have a enable cheat function available in this game. The game is challenging and finding those treasures is quite an adventure. Well done!
Good job! It got pretty repetitive pretty fast, but I still enjoyed exploring. I lost my first round to rng because only one fish spawned in the first room.
Yeah rngesus wasnt very kind in my game sorry about that
I like the concept, it’s really fun!
I feel like the fish that wants to kill you is way to hard to avoid tho, but otherwise good job :)
Cool game! I like how you predicts that the player will struggle and add a 'cheat mode' too XD
This game is a fun little arcade romp. It looks so good! My main suggesting to make it look even better is to try to match the pixel sizes for the cutscenes and UI elements to the characters and backgrounds. Great work!
Nice game
This was an original idea I haven't seen something like. And it was executed pretty well. However pressing E to pick up scales seems a bit unneeded. UI was kind of annoying to me. Some of art was really cool but some of it looked not as well as the other ones. Grown fishes kill in one hit and buying new rooms isn't that benfitial, so I rather to stay in one room. I liked the death cutscene (or whatever name it has). I hope that I see more games from you
Yeah, Ive noticed the part of the rooms too later on thats why I added the treasures but these are merely collectibles. Thanks for the review!
Fun idea with some very cute art! I had a bit of trouble figuring out what I had to do, before I realized that I was in a safe zone, and that this wasn't the actual gameplay I was playing yet. So an indicator of where to go, just to get me started, would have been nice. I thought it was a bit superfluous that I had to press E to pick up scales, and not just move into them. I got to day 5 or something on both my tries, and both times an evil fishy was lurking just behind the transition door, instantly ending my run, which was a bit of a pain.
That being said, I love the idea of a undersea dungeon crawler where you expand the places you can go, as you go. Overall good effort and nice execution!
Love the Idea. It is very hard to know what you're supposed to do at the start which makes it slow to get to understand the mechanics. overall it's very well made implementation wise and the art is decent
I loved the Idea, I haven't really seen another game like this in the jam. I think the only issue I felt in the game was that it was a bit repetitive towards the start, and maybe a bit more variety in the fish towards the start of the game could be better. Otherwise wonderful game! Looking forward to seeing you next year !
