Amazing art, one of the best in the jam, like the sound effects too. The gameplay it takes a while to figure out, there are a bit too many menu options it can be streamlined. Over all very good.

Developer

I am planning on streamlining the menus, but thanks for playing (and commenting)! :)

really cute game!  It was a little confusing at first, but once I figured out how to open the inventory and use the dice, it was fun.  Nice job!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Wow incredible that you made all of this from scratch! Love the artwork. Great work!

Developer

Thanks! :)

WOW, did you really manage to make this in Scratch?  very cool! maybe the inventory could be improved, but other than that that's a very solid game! love the idea!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Yep, made in 48 hours in Scratch... :) I am planning to add options after the voting period for auto-equip and for auto-closing the inventory after equipping a dice.

Submitted

The inventory management is a little tedious, and the game could use a few more levels. But the sprites were great and the movement solid. Good platformer, bonus points for the fact that this was made in Scratch.

Developer

I am planning to  (after the jam voting period) add options for auto-equip after rolling dice and auto-close the inventory after equipping a dice. Hopefully, that will make inventory management a lot easier! :)

A little buggy as it was made in scratch but that aside, this is one of the coolest ideas I've seen so far. maybe a slow-mo in the inventories would help you have time to think as you got used to the mechanics but i get that could be tough to implement in two days

Developer

I intended to add the slow-mo thing, but my positioning scripts stopped it from working... Anyway, I definitely will work on that after the jam, thanks! :) (I am also planning to share the source code in the next couple of days)

Submitted

okay! is it shared on scratch?

Developer(+1)

I haven't yet. Maybe right after the voting period, though. That way I don't get a bunch of comments asking me to fix things until then... :)

Submitted

It's a nice looking game, well done!

Thanks for playing :)

A fun short platformer, before I know it, have finished the game.

I think having some actions to happen automatically, like the roll and equip, would help make things a lot easier for the player.

Overall, it was an impressive game made in 50 hours and a very fun concept.

Congrats on finishing the Jam !

Thanks :)

Really like the artwork. Simple but fun gameplay. Well done!

Thanks for playing!

The art's so cute! I found the gameplay a little boring, though. I spent a long time rerolling to get matching numbers for the enemies and the block pushing was a little glitchy...

Developer

The numbers don't have to match the enemies by the way... They only have to be greater than or equal to an enemy's number. I can see how you might have been confused as I probably should've made that clearer... Sorry!

Submitted

That's okay! I probably didn't read the tutorial closely. I might've played too many games yesterday...

Very nice! The art is fantastic. The controls felt a bit strange at first (played on keyboard), but by the end I was used to them. Good job! :)

Developer(+1)

I worked really hard on the art, so I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

Really like the art on this one. The game is very cute and the character is adorable. I got a bit confused with the controls as for some reason Z didn't work for me. Ended up using a controller which worked like a charm! Great entry.

Developer

Thanks! :)

A very cute game, well done! Probably would've played better on a controller on my end, I felt pretty gumpy

Nice graphics, If you press X on the block it gets stuck to you

Developer(+1)

Oh no! Definitely will fix after the jam... Thanks for the feedback!

Really cute game! I would definitely have liked to play a few more levels, but the length of the game is understandable given the time constraints of the jam. If you are planning on continuing development after the jam it might be nice to pause the game when you are in a chest or in your inventory because it can be kind of bothersome to have to deal with the menus while also dodging enemies. Out of curiosity how did you make the game? I see some elements that look kind of like they are from Scratch but I am not 100% sure (super impressive if this was made in Scratch)

Developer

I am 100% planning to continue development. Thanks for the feedback! I did make the game in Scratch so you are correct! I exported the game for the web using the Turbowarp packager... (That's part of the reason the game is so short...)

Submitted

Super cool! I look forward to seeing future updates :)

The art and the world is really nice! I was a little confused about how the game exactly worked, but it was pretty enjoyable! We need more Kirby-inspired games.

Developer

The world definitely does need more Kirby-inspired games! I'm glad you enjoyed the art... I spent a lot of time on it :)

Super cute game! Once I got to understand the controls of the dice menu, the game loop became clear to me. This was a fun experience, and I love the Kirby inspiration!

Developer (1 edit)

I am planning to  (after the jam voting period) add options for auto-equip after rolling a dice and auto-close the inventory after equipping a dice. Hopefully, that will make the game clearer to use! :)

Submitted

The art style is so cute!!

I feel like the combat is extremely slow so i suggest you auto equip the dice you roll or quit the inventory menu when you equip a dice

Developer

Thanks for the suggestion(s)! I think I'll definitely implement that after the jam! :)

Cute looking game! X and Z are a bit unfortunate for QWERTZ-Keyboards. Nice that enemies slow down when you look into chests. The invisible walls are annoying. I love the main character Oliver.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks so much! Yeah, I didn't consider the QWERTZ keyboard thing... And could you point me to the invisible walls you're referring to?

EDIT: In the final version of the game, you'll be able to remap inputs but if you own a Bluetooth/USB gamepad, the game already supports those.
