Incredible improvement over the previous game, well done!

Thanks again for playing Gabriel!

Very cool job! I think its awesome you took the last gamejam I saw and iterated on it to make it better with a new theme. The appearance and gameplay feels a lot better! One suggestion is to maybe make the spike hitboxes a little smaller since its a little unforgiving in that department as some have mentioned. Overall though, awesome job!

This is great! The dice concept really works here because it adds so much variation to each retry and encourages you to try different approaches. Definitely helps that each section is very short and each restart is quick. The jellies are a bit unpredictable and for sure favor the red kitten, but it's doable with all of them and over time I started to enjoy dodging them. Two minor improvements would be the hitbox of the spikes, and that the cats seem just a tiny bit too slippery, but overall it feels great to control. Additionally, the game looks great and the music is such a vibe!

Edit: there's something weird with the formatting of this text but I can't figure out how to fix it :S

Music was sublime and very relaxing setting my mood and expectations instantly. The visuals were gorgeous and cute but the kitten run animation was very satisfying! The stages were hard (very much so at the end) but I found towards the end just killing the kittens :( just to get the red kitten... i dont like the robot for regretting making the red kitty. Grr.
Great game :)

Super cute! The hitboxes on the spikes seemed a bit high but still a lot of fun. Great work!

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to play and rate Vimlark! Been watching and loving your content since before I ever did my first jam. In hindsight I definitely agree on the hit boxes and probably sprite size in general on the spikes being a bit large. Can’t wait to check out your submission when I get off work!

This was an awesome game I loved it

Really enjoyed the game ! Cats are cute.
The cat statue is fantastic when it loads and does its cleaning.

But the dice feels like it was a last minute add-on rather than the main concept.

This game was a really pleasant experience! The gameplay is really good and interesting, red is kinda OP but that's fine since the jellos are really hard to dodge.

This game's art style and feel is so cute, really nicely made. The audio is super well thought out too. Great job! This can easily be scaled up into a full release

Cute game! The concept of the mirrored cat is also very cool.

The sliding in the movement was a huge roadblock though, especially considering the amount of precision you need to not die. And on that note, the spikes' hitboxes seem off; I kept dying when I was just within the general vicinity of them (e.g. on the edge of a platform).

Still, it was fun, if perhaps made more difficult than needed with the above issues.

Thanks for playing! And yea pretty much everyone that had commented has said it was too slippery. Sucks to know I could’ve avoided that by just changing a number on a variable. I personally like a little slipperyness because it reminds me of Mario games but I’m gonna make sure to dial it back significantly in future games

It feels like I was on ice, also i like cats

Submitted(+1)

Oh god, how many times I died, but still played to get to the end! It was fun 👍

I only felt frustration with the spikes hitbox that can hit you even if you stand on an upper ground.

I understand you didn't make the art yourself, but the presentation is still phenomenal, especially for something made in two days! I really like the concept, and think it's pretty well implemented (nice progression, puzzles, etc.)

Good job :D

Developer

thank you so much! You are one of the very few who didn’t hate the slipperyness, or at least didn’t feel compelled to comment on it haha. Gonna check out your game once I get off work.

I liked the art and the presentation - even though you didn't make it, the game looked good and that was a good design choice. The sound was pretty good but the music didn't really fit.

It was pretty frustrating once you got to the third level. I liked the idea, but I would have preferred a way to lock maybe the player cat in place by something like holding space bar for a short second or something, which would have allowed greater fidelity in the platforming. Controlling two characters is always a risk to the player because it's easy to get annoyed. Coupled with the brutal spike hit boxes, I must say I did not feel like I wanted to continue this one after a few retries.

With that said, there is a very interesting mechanic here that is definitely worth exploring. Platformers are notoriously hard to get just right (as GMTK Mark Brown himself stipulates in his videos), so it's unfortunately very easy to make it too hard. I don't think you are too far away from getting it right at all!

Great work and an interesting take on the theme!

Cool game and concept, the controls are a bit slippery I would say.

Developer

Thanks for playing and I appreciate the constructive feedback.  I thought having the player be a little slippery on landing would be a fun challenge but it seems to be a pretty universal criticism that it was too much. I'll dial this back in future games and for sure on this one if I end up working on it again.

Fun concept and very creative the movement was a bit slidey and the spike hitboxes might need adjusting. I had fun playing either way.

Submitted(+1)

WOW! The character movement felt really great and the sprites/animations were just next level! I wanna just to run around an entire world as those kittens <3

Submitted(+1)

The music was kind of distracting, to be honest. I liked the overall visual aesthetic.

Gameplay wise - cat has way too much inertia for a kind of a precision platformer.

Submitted(+1)

Nice! Good presentation, interesting concept. The music is strange, but also gives the game a cool vibe. Well done!
