Amazing idea.

Looks super clean and played really well.

There's a lot of room for more levels with this idea, but it might need a little more depth if you were going to release a full version (which you should because this game is great).

Nice work!

Developer

thanks you so much for your nice words! you are right, levels need more planing (but its hard!)
thanks for playing!!

I hear that. Level design is pretty much always the hardest part.

Probably one of the most polished looking games in the entire jam. The way the visuals and audio are used together to make for some very satisfying feedback is very well crafted. Not to mention the unique playstyle makes this an absolute treat.

thanks you so much for playing! <3

the concept is super cool! a good little puzzle game almost nothing to say just the fact of having 5 lives so sometimes you can pass in the pile and it works to win  ;)

Developer(+1)

its true, difficulty needs some balancing!
thanks for playing!

I would play this on my phone to kill time for sure. Impressive work for 2 days, really.

Hi, played your game, here's my feedback! :D

Graphics: Absolutely amazing! Love what you did with the background!

Audio: Love the music and the sounds! Super-polished, nintendo quality!

Gameplay:I love the concept, but i couldn't play al lot of the game because of it's difficulty. It would be better to choose on an actual dice than on this UV map thing, and the level are way too long in the beginning already! In a game jam, try to make games as easy as possible! But i see a lot of potential!

I hope the feedback helped you, and it would be nice if you could check out our submission as well, thank you! :)

thank you very much for playing and your feedback. We appreciate it.

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for the feedback! some people enjoyed the dice building so maybe a "difficulty setting" and the easier difficulty is picking a dice instead of building one :D

Submitted(+1)

I liked the building part, i'd just rather choose the icons on an actual 3D model than this UV map grid thing, i suck at geometry :D

Amazing concept for the game, incredible visual and audio. Great work.

I really like the concept of this game. Being able to change any side to any thing makes for rather interesting gameplay and strategy. I can easily see this expanded upon as a quick mobile game where one can grind out a few puzzles in between obligations. It reminds me of the block flipping game (whatever that's called), where it is very simple but easy to learn and can be expanded upon into practically infinite levels.

Unfortunately, three faces is simply too few. I managed to get through quite a few of the levels with a die that was just six rock faces because I never lost enough life to papers that the weakness mattered. I think this would be a lot better with five faces in the style of something like Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock. That way I couldn't just tank through levels. Making same face matches hurt or lowering the amount of health given might also fix the issue.

The only other issue I had was that I found it difficult to tell what I was doing to my die. Maybe I was just missing something, but I felt it would be nice to be able to pan around my die in full 3D so I could really understand where the faces would land when I moved.

I liked the graphics and music as well. I see you didn't make much of that, so I don't want to focus on them too much, but they did give a pleasant puzzle game vibe that I could easily see fitting in with other puzzle games, many of which likely had a lot more than 48 hours put into them.

I honestly think that's the best way to describe what I think. While I do think there are issues, if I saw this game for .99 on the Play Store I wouldn't question it at all. It plays well, it's easy to learn, and it can easily be expanded into something more competitive with leaderboards and such. What more could one want?

I agree with you on most accounts, but would changing the game to five faces (Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock) actually solve the problem? Each choice now beats two other choices and is beaten by two other choices, so the player takes damage in 40% (2/5) of the cases rather than 33% (1/3). That is a bit more punishing, but also a lot more complex.  Not only does the player need to visualize the 3D dice movement in their head, but they also need to consider the rules of a game they might not be as familiar to as the widespread Rock, Paper, Scissors.

I'd say your other recommendation of making draws hurt the player (maybe a bit less than losses) achieves the goal in a much simpler fashion.

Developer

thanks a lo for the feedback! we wanted to make it simple but at some point we were even thinking a dice with more faces hahah
i also think difficulty needs a lot of balacing
thanks for playing!

I think the game very good visually, especially the colors. The game feels so polished and the animations just feel so good. I do feel like the sounds for when you land on a square correctly feels a bit jarring but apart from that the the game sounds awesome.

Developer(+1)

thats a nice detailed, when you win a RPS match it should sound more like a "victory"
thanks for playing!

I've noticed a lot of people using the "roll specific side of a dice onto the right tiles" type of games (I even considered making one at first too!) but this one has been the best so far. Both by reducing the number of different symbols form 3 to 6 it just becomes a lot more manageable but also in how polished and satisfying the animations are.

Developer

thanks a lot for playing! <3

I'm super surprised this was made in 2 days! It was incredibly polished and was pretty fun! Great job!

thanks man! it really means a lot!

Damn these visuals are good!
Also so clean a crisp. The idea to customize your own cube is really unique and cool!

very well thought out game, I was proud to pass the first level, on the second one my brain was melting, will try it again after some deserved rest ;) Your production values are quite high, kudo!

coming from the guys with one of the most polished games in the jam it means a lot!
thank you very much for playing!

These visuals are just incredilble! The particles in the background are so subtle but also so pretty *-*
Full paper cube is the answer for almost every level tho haha.
Nice game, really liked it!

Developer(+1)

balancing its haaaard! hahah
thank you very much for playing!

The art and overall design of the game is so beautiful and clean and polished and I absolutely adore the idea! I like that this game isn't forcing you to 100% plan your route ahead, but rather about building a good start and then improvising your way through the later part of the level ( at least it worked best like that for me). A really unique and creative game, great job!

Developer(+1)

thank you for your kind words! it means a lot <3

Fun, nice, clever game. The juice is off the charts! Love it.

Developer

thank you so much for playing!!

This game's juice is on steroids! Graphics and Sound are over 9000! Terrific idea to mashup rock, paper, scissors with the die. Very original!  I think it would have been a sufficient puzzle  just walking around the platform without the need to chose the faces of the die, but I have to say it adds a layer of depth I enjoyed. But I can see how some people might suffer from "choice paralysis" and might be stuck in a analytical mode for too long just at choosing the die faces, before navigating the grid. And big bonus in my book, I really like the fact that the theme has been interpreted in a more literal manner, hence a more creative approach!  Bravo!

thanks you so much for your kind words and for the feedback! <3

5 stars for presentation! What a pretty game. Wow, my brain hurts. Haha it's probably just because I haven't slept enough through the Jam. It would be really nice to be able to rotate the camera view to remind myself what's on the back side of my dice.

Developer

thanks you for your kind words! i agree it needs more help showing the back faces of the dice
thanks for playing!
