Very good gameplay and visuals, i really loved it. i really want to see this game finished with more effects and levels. Nice one !

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words! I'm planning on making it into a rougelike with generated levels and a lot more content. You could always drop a follow to get notified when I release an alpha ;)

Lovely . It play a lot more like a deckbuilder but instead of random card with differnt skills your cards  skill power is randomized

Developer

Agreed! I'm thinking of turning it into a rougelike, which very much would play as a deckbuilder kind of thing.

Submitted

Wonderful!!! You managed to make sprites, animation and a really neat idea! Sometimes the RNG hates the player. It could have been less random to make the game more enjoyable. But the base idea felt really clever. I tend to love this rpg themed games, so... thumbs up for me! Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! RNG-based games are problematic in this sense.

Submitted

Graphics looks fantastic! Liked the idea too

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed the art! I had some troubles in the beginning and the characters took a while to get right.

This was a really nice take on the theme! I enjoyed the gameplay very much and how satisfying it was when the dice lined up - felt like I was almost dancing around the enemies at times. Really enjoyed how the dice were your health too, and you could tactically take hits only to replenish/replace the dice.

Good job!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you had good luck with RNG, sometime you can get very unlucky many turns in a row,  but good that you could dance around them. I'm very happy with the stratigic health system too.

Really fun game with fun mechanics! I enjoy how fast you can choose to play this even though it's a turn based game, it reminds me of how fast you can navigate the menus in persona 5, for example. Anyway great entry, good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! A lot of people requested hotkeys, which would make it play even faster. Glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted

That's a good idea actually! Do you think you'll extend this to a post-jam release?

Developer(+1)

I am planning to turn this into a fleshed out rougelike! I'll probably spend a week or so trying to make it a rougelike and releasing an alpha of it pretty soon! After that I'll look into making a full release (payed steam game) if it gets enough support. We'll se what happens, but I'm looking forward to working more on it!

Great to hear! Good luck with that :)

Creative and very fun!

Developer

Thanks!

This is a very good game. I the level of polish as well as the presentation are superb. I think the mechanics are very straightforward and easy to grasp, but that there is room for depth. I found myself thinking and planning a lot to make the best of my roles. Honestly there isn't much that i would change, it all just worked really well.

Developer

Thanks for the kind words!

The art is awesome! Really liked the idea as well. However it gets tedious if you are unlucky enough. Also, there is room for QoL improvements with the controls - you can implement keyboard keys as well to assist players.

Developer (1 edit) (+2)

I'm glad that you and others like the art!

Yeah, I tried to implement simple 1 2 3 4 ... hotkeys and there is in this build, but it's bugged so it isn't usable.

I'll let you in on a tiny secret though: The movement dice are rigged in your favour, when you are more than 2 tiles away from the closest enemy, there is a 40% chance each movement dice will point towards the enemy, I added this system because before that it was much worse than it is now.

Submitted(+2)

yo that rigged system is actually perfect! I only run into problems with trying to pilot my players around the enemies to juggle them. Never noticed any problems with not being able to cover long distances, so that's why! Very clever!

Man game is so cool! Congratulations on the presentation and on the idea, the game is very polished and fun! The only improvement I can think of is trying to improve the way the player choses the actions, or at least the basic movement. It gets a bit tedious to move the dice each time next to the character (especially for moving. These actions, except the diagonal and all-around movement don't necessary need to be dragged and dropped since there is only one option. I think if this is fixed it will make the gameplay even better

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I tried to make number hotkeys work, but it's bugged in this build. I'm also contemplating being able to use WASD if you have the dice. I will make sure to add these QoL features when I turn the game in to a roguelike!

Very cool concept.  I also really like the artstyle :)

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!

This game is incredibly polished for only 48 hours! Great work!  It could totally become a full-fledged game!

I personally think being able to move diagonally with the Move ability (and attack diagonally too)  would have been cool.

I got soft-locked on the second level because I put all of my attach abilities on the left and the archer kept destroying my move abilities before I could get to them.  A way to reorder your dice once I realized the impact of having put them all on the left, would have been cool.

But overall, very fun and creative!

Developer(+2)

Thank you! I'm thinking of making it to a rougelike, because that would solve the "getting stuck" problem.
I was thinking of making it so that you can reorder your dice, but in that case you could continue to swap dice until all of them are at 1 HP, which would break strategy a bit. (And also I didn't have the time to do that)

I don't know if you got to the Dash dice in the second level, but with it there is a way to move diagonally! (2 of 6 sides)

Thanks again for the great feedback!

Like the tactic part. Art is also great.

Developer

Thanks! I tried to make strategic depth by things like making you choose which dice to have and in which order to have them

Dope game

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I was acually thinking of calling it "Swords and dices" first

Wooo!!!

need more levels ! fun chill game 5 stars from me!

Developer

Thanks! My hope is that I'll turn it into a rougelike some day, with procedrual cell-based levels and more enemies with different movement patterns. That way you could have an infinite number of levels!

Developer

I have now released an update with procedural levels! So now you can have as many as you want, togheter with 3 more enemies and a boss fight!

Submitted(+1)

Really creative take on the theme, really interesting and well done. Good job!

Developer

Thanks!
