Awesome game. I had a lot of fun playing. It really shows that you don't need beautiful assets to make a game with cool aesthetics.
The idea with each enemy having their own music is great. Though I felt that the sounds enemies make have different BPM than the music making them not really fit together (I could be wrong though).

Two small issues:
Volume slider is back to initial position after reentering settings menu.
I found the sound when clicking a button in menus quite unpleasant. I think lowering it's pitch would be nice.

These are very minor though. Amazing job overall!

Yep I found the 2 issues when i was testing the game but the newer WebGL builds were giving an error for some reason and I was panicking and had to submit a slightly older build without those fixes. You can also see at the top of the page it says submitted 2 mins before the deadline lololol

Music and visuals pair really well! It was fun to learn how to avoid each type of ennemy, but after a while it got kinda repetitive.

You took the theme very literally with the “rolls” 😂

This game looks really good. I enjoyed tricking between buletts and lasers

Glad you liked it!!

Very neat game! The visuals are really slick and satisfying, and I liked the suspense of seeing which bullet emitters would show up. I kinda wish there was something more active for the player to do as well, like maybe a limited "boost" function, or some kind of gun or shield to defend against some of the bullets.

Nice work!

Developer

Woah, that sounds like a great idea!! Maybe in a post jam version!

this is a very well-developed, engaging, and fun game! i love this creative concept and the art/animation is very well done! i can tell a ton of effort went into creating this game. 10/10 would recommend

This is a fun little game ! I really liked the concept and the gameplay is satisfying. Great entry all in all !! :D

Enjoyed playing this, especially the way the enemies vary and surprise you every time. The visuals with all the different effects and trails are really godd and add a nice overall touch to the game. If anything could be added maybe just a points counter and it would have everything!

Very juicy! I like the touch of the randomized music. It's a little slow between rounds and I got killed by an enemy spawning from offscreen, but the bullet hell gameplay is super fun! Well done!

Like the visuals, very simple but they get the job done! Made it to when 4 shapes appear, and I got wombo-comboed by the diamonds and the green L's. Well done!

Extremely cute looking game, nice simple and effective visuals.
I liked the easygoing approach

I like the game, the sound and visual effects are cool, but I wish there was a score or something.

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! I was planning on doing a score but ran out of time! :( Glad you enjoyed tho!

I loved the little dice as mouse pointer, I could't stop to move it around. The game is solid and very well created and polished

Cool game with lots of juice and pop!

I like the simple, yet stylised graphics.

The controls were not the typical controls, but still easy to understand.

Great submission!

Thank you!! Glad you liked itt!!

This is a very fun idea especially if taken further and made faster/with even more enemy variety, some criticisms:

  • The background music beat was really repetitive and annoying to me unfortunately, the music effects from the enemies appearing were fine
  • It felt unfair to get hit by the shapes appearing from outside the screen, as there is no warning. Should either have a warning something is coming from there, or they shouldn't be able to hit you before they properly activate
  • When I played, my characters position somehow ended up off-sync from my mouse which felt really bad, not sure what caused it (like if my mouse was on top of the game window in itch, inside the game the character was not in that exact position)
Developer(+1)

Sorry about that :( I have never made music before so it was my first time :/ but you can also turn off music in the settings!! I can see what you mean about the shapes hitting you on spawn, but I didn’t know how to fix it at the time so i just left it. One thing to avoid it tho is to stay at the top of the screen since they only spawn from the sides and bottom! And for the de-sync thing you just have to left click the window once so that your browser focuses the mouse again. This happens when you press the ‘Esc’ key and the browser frees the mouse but doesn’t send the ‘Esc’ key to the game. (Most browsers you need to double tap esc, annoying bug that u couldn’t work around in the time) Despite all of this I hope you still enjoyed!

Yeah it was still fun, would be interested to see more fully developed game with the idea for sure!

Really fun game, gorgeous graphics and simple to understand gameplay :)

Developer

Thank you!!! Simplicity and complexity are a fine line in a game! Glad you think I did well on that :D
