Neat idea! I really liked how the landscape changes as you play due to the explosive weapons. I found the controls a bit hard to use (it's easy to get stuck in a hole, and be consequently unable to aim at other dice), but the weapons' aim assist helped alleviate it a lot. The art is cute and makes the levels fun to explore and navigate, and I enjoyed the music as well! Congrats on submitting!

i had fun playing this game!
i hope you don't mind an honest review btw
the art is ok
the music was also ok
i'm very glad you added sound effects and music, that gets left out a lot
when i say ok i mean that it wasn't bad, nor was it great
but it definitely added to the experience, this game would've been way more boring were it not for them.
so i'm glad you put in the effort
that being said, i think all three of those could've been better, but that's nothing impossible to improve upon.

if either of the team members want to make music, that's great!
make a lot, improve, get inspired.
however, if you don't plan on putting a lot of effort into learning that skill.
that's ok too.
i just recommend getting your music from some creative commons website in that case.
i want you to know that there's no shame in that.
your goal should be to deliver an experience, and if some other music fits better, that's ok!
other games that i've played that used creative commons music actually had some of my favourite music in the jam!
while i do make music myself, unfortunately i can only give you very few good tips on it, because it's something that i haven't learned based on rules, i learned it by developing an intuition, and that intuition took me many years to develop. if there's any rule in music i would say that it's a combination of creating patterns and breaking them. also, one thing i tend to do a lot myself is have a melody with a unique rhythm, and repeat that rhythm with different notes. that kind of thing usually sounds pretty good. i believe it's called a "sequence" in music theory.

as for the art, the rocks in particular looked very cool
i recommend significantly reducing your colour palette, and working with that
once you do that  i think you'll realise that no matter how amazing the shape of something is, it's the colours that make it truly pretty. simply using the same colour palette throughout a whole game or level can make it seem very polished.
one art tip i recommend in particular is to stay away from the corner.
by the corner i mean the corner of the colour picker that has the most saturation.
and the last art tip is that strong realistic lighting looks pretty.
when a red, diffuse object is strongly illuminated by the sun, it will not be light red, it will be closer to milky orange. that's also the reason why in art tutorials people will recommend you to do a "hue shift". this is a simplified version of mixing the colour of the light with the colour of the object.

this is of course highly stylised, but i hope you get the point with mixing the colour of the object with the colour of the light that is illuminating it

now
there is one thing i noticed in your game that might've been a lucky accident, or might've been a deliberate decision. but i just love that that actually worked.
as i was playing the game, i threw a grenade quite hard against another player, and the grenade did damage to the character! i did not expect it to because i thought only bullets would work that way, but the grenade damaged the character without exploding.

anyway, that was my review.
the game was very fun to play, and i think that's really something to be proud of.
great job!

Thanks for the feedback, I am glad you actually liked it :) the music and art we will try to improve in some next game jam - but I think for the first game jam it is not that bad :)

Didn't realize this was multiplayer for a little bit haha. Not a bad idea, would've liked for a way to end turns early though to help speed up the match. Fun little game :)

I immediately knew as I started playing that it was worms with dice. I love the idea but sometimes the weapons don't work properly. Overall I enjoyed it!

Submitted

Haha, nice! Worms with random guns are a nice idea! I love the fact that you did few maps for that too))
Graphics of dice characters and guns could be better, but it's okay. Mechanics are working fine and this is everything for me! Good job!

Wow so amazing graphics. I enjoyed a lot the gameplay. Great work.

Fun game! It's very satisfying to destroy the environment XD

Submitted

I didn't know it was a local versus game at first so was kinda confused, but I'm really impressed you got destructible environments to work in such a short time!

Hi! Unfortunately I don't have friends on my couch right now, and the game could use a bit more feedbacks, but it already works pretty well, congratulations :)

Really nice worms variant! The random weapons was nice take on it. The game unfortunately tended to be a bit too zoomed in when on someone's turn and it was almost impossible to figure out where to aim at. Balancing is another small issue as on city someone spawned on the very lowest level and couldn't hit anyone while they were being bombarded.

Developer

Hi, the zoom I have already fixed in the update will be after ratings... The balancing is a bigger issue and we will have to work more  on that :) Anyway I hope you liked the game and thank you for the feedback :)

I liked the game, especially the art! The idea of randomized weapons is great! I liked it! Best of luck:)

Wow, great way to mix worms with randomization! I absolutely adored the idea and enjoyed playing it. I do wish I could see more with the camera, but still very enjoyable. Also loved the look and sound of the game. Great use of the theme!

Nice game love the mix of worms and the jam theme, i would be nice though to get to choose what is on a specific characters dice.

Developer

Hi, glad you like the game, we have been thinking about some weapon build options, but we left it for later update...

Submitted

First off, this reminds me a lot about Boom Slingers (which is a mobile game if you havent heard of it). I also think the randomized weapons are a pretty nice touch. However, i do think that this game has some balancing issues. For example, the maps arent even/symmetrical, so one player's going to have an advantage over the other. Besides that, this game is pretty good, including the art. Its finally not pixel art lol (even though i chose to do pixel art for my game)

Man, I love Worms! Emulating that gameplay and having 4 whole levels in a game jam was a great accomplishment. Would have been nice to limit the movement a little bit because it was super easy to push your opponents off the edge. I liked the variety of weapons, but the pistol seemed under damaging.

Submitted

Really liked the idea and the art! Especially enjoyed the random weapons. I wish I could have played it with someone else to fully experience it. Nice job!

Submitted

I realy like the randomized weapons and the art style.

the music is also very good

Terrific.

Love worms. Randomize weapons based on dice roll works well, but I do feel like the weapon balance is a little off (the pistol seemed very weak). The only thing it's really missing is enemy AI, as I have no one to play with 😢. If you have IRL friends to play with and enjoy this genre, I could imagine it being very fun to play.
