How does your game fit the theme?
We had a concept of rolling your score to change the rules of the game. We ran out of time and tried to squeeze the scope to have something to show :)

Did your team create the vast majority of the art during the 48 hours?

No

We used pre-existing art

Cool concept, definitely needs some work. Hope that this gets updated in the future.

This is a cool idea (in fact, the roll for enemies was my idea as well :) ) although it could use some more polish. Great start though!

Submitted(+1)

With a bit more polish this could be cool and fun. As of now it doesn't motivate me to keep playing very much. Still could be a good start for a game though! :)

I didn't enjoy this game much. I feel like the art style doesn't fit at all with the look of the guns.
Also the fact that you can randomize at wish and that there is no ammo allows to just pick the best gun (the machine gun seems by far the best) and stay with it.  The other weapons just feel pointless.
Plus at some point I died with no enemies on screen and no idea what hit me

Developer (1 edit)

last i heard death was impossible, how'd you die? like be more specific so we can maybe fix the bug

Submitted

Hum... sorry, it's been hours now, I don't remember what happens. I suppose it was something forcing me to restart or something like that that I interpreted as a death ^^'

It's a nice idea. I like the different guns.

With some polish and extra time, it could make for a really fun game. Good job!

Nice concept, I think with a little more time this could be a really cool game! well done :)

Visually well designed, the map enviroment looks like a good amount space to duel oncoming enemies. The pink blobs came in fast! Quite scary :D

This game has nice graphics and a good concept, the shooting feels nice and I like the variety of weapons in this game!

This game has a cute graphics and shooting elements feels good. I hope you continue to work on it. It can be a very fun game to play ^^

The game looks good, interesting concept on weapon switch.

Submitted(+1)

Cute game. I found myself just spamming 1, 2 and clicks in the general direction of the enemy though and running around. Would have liked to see some more interactive mechanics.

Awesome job with the game! I like the idea of randomizing your weapons with a dice roll. Had lots of fun!

Submitted(+1)

This was an interesting concept! Randomizing your weapon had a sort of feedback to it. It was very pleasing to look at. My main critiques I have are mainly with the games balancing. Some weapons are just way better than others, and as such, when you get those weapons, you never switch off, killing off the main game mechanic.  I would recommend maybe making some sort of combo system, meaning that you get more points if you randomize your weapons frequently. Other than that, good job!

I agree with this feedback. It is an interesting concept that I've seen a few times this Jam, but like some others I've player - if there is no gameplay need for player doesn't need to engage with weapon switching (e.g. limited use, enemy weaknesses) then the core mechanic can be ignored. The rest of the game was well implemented in the time allowed.

Developer

there were plans to have a score multiplier for switching weapons often, but there wasn't time

Submitted(+1)

This game is pretty cool I really like the variance in weapons.

It's a cool game, I wish there was some kind of display for the reloading timer or at least that reloading didn't take so long

Developer

the 'reload' time is dependent on the weapon

The game isn't fully functioning, but what's there still isn't doesn't work very well. I like the weapon switching idea, but if you get two weapons you like, there isn't much of an incentive to switch them. The artwork looks nice on a surface level, but it lacks cohesion because the asset pack art is mixed in with the basic no-outline guns and the placeholder-looking bullets. (also, the player character just rotates to look at the mouse, and it doesn't look great.) There's no audio in the game whatsoever, and the overall experience is pretty flat.

The weapon variety is really good, most of them feel very good to use. Would love to see this developed further.

I like the different weapons and how they all play differently. But I'm still missing a kind of goal in this game that I can work towards. I think you can't lose in this game either? I tried to stand in enemies, but nothing happened. Music would have given this game a better feeling too. Otherwise, I had a lot of fun trying out the different weapons. Good job though.

Thanks for you comment, yeah we were not able to put everything working in time so there is not much here :')
At first you would have win points when killing enemy and would have been able to use them to roll game rules, but in the end we tried to change the scope of the game at the last minute to have smth to show (so that's why you roll weapon instead).

I liked the art and the different weapons!

I only wish for some kind of UI that shows you wich weapon is linked to wich number.

And some kind of score system to keep playing

Great game :D

Developer(+1)

there's a score system planned for the future!
