Very cool visuals and core mechanics! Takes a while to learn the moves but  it becomes pretty fun to move around once you get it. I wish there was more levels, slower difficulty  progression and some music and sfx but there's only so much you can do in a jam. I'd certainly play an after-jam version!

Thanks for coming to my stream! Here's a recording in case you'd like to refer to it

I really love how the Jam theme is utilized here :) this is so smart :D

I had a good time playing in the game - Nice job!

great idea! I want more stages

Nice platformer. Love the wall jump. Saved me several times.
Maybe with a little more time, you could made the controls be more precise, but for a 50hs jam they're fine.

The theme mechanics are ok. Some attacks are pretty hard to avoid.
But overall it a nice game.

Good job!

While the idea is unique from other games in the jam, I thought the controls were a little wonky. Good job!

I really enjoyed playing this game, and found the die roll effects really fun to play with. Also, I love the art!! Great job :)

The movement techs were VERY fun to play around with. Yet I had to read to learn about them. Incorporate them into the tutorial, and it would be divine. Expressing the dice effects in the game is another start. Like FREEZE or HEAL. Stuff like that. Great game,

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback! I definitely spent a majority of the time fine-tuning the platforming, so I'm glad you were able to appreciate them. I'm gonna work on better tutorialization and UI for a post-jam release, so stay tuned y'all ;)

Seems like a good concept, I was just a little bit confused about what things did (like the roll). Perhaps a tutorial would be a good feature for the future.

Nice job making this in 48 hours!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I definitely wish I had a bit more time to create a better tutorial. At this point, I might just put some tips in the description since a lot of people are a bit confused as to what's happening.

Very beautiful game   But random attack were a little bit hard and I did not really get the purpose of the dice roll.

The gameplay feels really nice once you learn it, but  the random effects makes the learn curve frustrating(especially 5 lol). Otherwise the movement is great if not a bit slipery. Also, the visuals are really good!

Love the art and overall style. The concept of the game is cool and enjoyed trying to play through the random rolls. Would love to see it expanded on

An interesting idea and nice graphics. However the controls were a little difficult to me and things seemed to happen just randomly. I think I couldn't figure out all the techniques.

Love the Art! Controls were a bit floaty but overall a fun game idea! Great Job.

Art is impressive and game concept is creative too, but sometimes my health is spawned on places I can't reach. Great Job.

Developer

Thanks! In case anyone in the future reads this, there's  actually a platform hidden behind the lower-rightmost saw to help reach that one pickup without needing to walljump.

Nice art style, and interesting idea. good job!

I love this game idea! Giving the player a debuff every time they use the mechanic is a very interesting concept that I feel could be expanded upon! I do feel like there needs to be a bit of balancing as it can be frustrating when the health pack spawns in an obscure spot while you rolled a five, but overall its an impressive effort for 48 hours!

Developer

Glad you liked it! I will admit there's a bit of a bug which applies the reduced friction to your aerial movement as well, making rolling a 5 much more frustrating than was intended. But that's something to fix in the next iteration.

The art style is great and the movement tech worked phenomenally. Main place I would improve is letting the player know what's happening with each side.

The animations are very cute! I agree with follow the fun, had to spend a minute before i decided to roll into potential death at full speed

Developer

Haha, thanks! Guess I should have mentioned in game that the roll gives you i-frames

Submitted(+1)

The animations are top notch, well done! I've always had trouble with ZX + Arrow key controls so I had a bit of trouble navigating but I got used to it. At first I couldn't figure out how to get through the blades because it said not to roll so I was trying to escape other ways, but didn't find any.

Thanks for trying it out! I also set WASD + Space + Shift to work, but just didn't mention it in the onscreen tutorial.

This take on the theme is really nice, congrats !
The controls are on point and though the map is the only one, there is a lot to discover in your little game !
