This was fun! Cool idea and nicely executed! I could see you expanding this in a few directions - more pieces, more levels, maybe moving the defense pieces or adding pawn promotions, etc. Love the chess + tower defense mix!
First chess tower defense game I think I have seen - and it was fun. Would have been really fun if you could have brought more of the pieces and made multiple levels that leverage the different movement styles.
Excellent job for a first submission. Music, sound, user interface. menus, and general polish can take your games to the next level but understand time constraints limit you.
Nice jam experiment ! It feel like there is not much possibility right now but the concept could be extanded to a fun puzzle game i think. Good job !
Heck of a first project! Tower defense games are always solid for jams, and the chess mechanic was quite clever. Fun entry, thanks for submitting!
Good game!
Nicely done! Especially for a first project. I hope you keep this up because this was pretty well done. I liked the twist on the tower defense formula. Keep it up!
Very nice, and especially congrats for a first game!!
Nice game! I love the mechanics! It would be nice to know the cost of each piece but I really enjoyed playing this! One of my horses was bullied by another tho, poor fella.
Thank you! I've added those and some other things, will be added after the jam time.
PS: i love this horse bug
Great to hear that! Good luck with future updates. And yes, that’s one of the best bugs I encountered lately :D
cool game
Wow! This is your first project?! Very impressive! 😃
There were a couple of glitches, but they were more funny and entertaining than game-breaking (like the pieces trying to hit the new piece you want to place), but overall a very cool game, and an interesting take on the tower defense genre!
I wish you good luck in your journey to recreate Outer Wilds using carrots and pencils! 😆
Really cool game for a first project! Saw you
Super cool concept! I think it'd be awesome to see a full version some day. TD with chess pieces acting like chess pieces.
A very well-implemented tower defense game, I like the chess theming it would be interesting to have the game extended with more pieces.
big fan of tower defense games, as well as chess. So I enjoyed this concept very much. I did have a moment tho on one of my play throughs where my knight kept attacking the same spot and it was where my pawn was. But over all good game.
Sorry for the bug, ive already patched it, when its open again to updates im gonna apply the changes, thank you soo much for playing!
This was fun, I can see there being a bit of strategy with chess piece tower defence.
Damn, I couldn't beat the big pawn. :P
I really like this idea, Chess + Tower Defense is not something I've seen before!
This is such a fantastic entry! I'm really excited to see this developed further with more pieces and more strategy. Perhaps the path changes under certain conditions... Ooo.. I really like the potential here. Well done!
Oh i loved the idea of the path changing, i will think about it, thank you for playing!
The game itself is okay but I'd be really helpful to have more of an idea of when you can place pieces and how much they cost. It took me quite a while to understand that you can place pieces in the middle of a wave.
Good game! But you need price labels and a small description of each piece
Thanks! I've totally forgot about the price labels! When it open to bugfix i'm gonna implement them.
Congratulations on finishing your first jam!
I'd say the game needs more information and feedback listed, since it's unclear at times what's happening and whether or not you can buy stuff.
Thanks! i will think about it and implement it, thank you for the feedback! <3
