Hello devs! Just wanna say that I really really enjoyed this game, hope yall enjoyed the making of it!

I really enjoyed the fast and challenging aspect of the game, specially in the last couple of rounds of the final level.

The music was good and represented the music you'd hear in NES games and things like that, however I feel that speeding it up (albeit makes sense with the mechanics), plays up with the pitch of the song a bit too much and sometimes felt a bit dissonant, but that's just me nitpicking.

Love the artstyle too! You did a great job, Pixeliivii! Can't comment too much on it, I'm not that well versed in pixel art things

All in all, great job to you guys for the work you put in!

Thanks for playing Last Bullet <3 im glad you enjoyed it and very happy to see you liked my art XD really thanks!! <3 <3 <3

Really fun, fast bullet hell, lot's of old school NES vibes from this one, I like the take on the theme to make every last bullet count, it gives some strategy depth above the fast dodging and shooting, really good job.

Developer

Thank you very much for playing Last Bullet!  we are glad you liked it, means a lot <3

Cool minimalist game with smooth controls and right amount of balance. Great game artistically as well as atmospherically.

I just couldn't feel how less is more was implemented, I have read it changes speed, damage etc. but I think some visual clues could be better. I didn't get where my health was as well, I just figured "I am faster maybe I'm low on hp?"

Developer

Hey! less is more is represented by the fewer bullets you have the more damage you do, the less life you have, the more the tombstone that represents your life fills up, and also the fewer enemies left on the level, the more speed of the game inreases.
It was difficult to represent it, we tried to make it noticeable by using color and size changes in the UI, but even so, in this type of "frantic" games, the UI is almost never seen.

Thanks for playing! <3

i love the artwork, music is suttle but also sinister, good pick!

well done.

Developer

Hahaha Thank you very much for playing! i´m definitely not a born composer xD

This was fun! I think the difficulty was chosen really well, because towards the end as the projectiles increased I was afraid of dying, but I was able to survive, which made it exciting. I mostly used a strategy of moving around the perimeter and aiming towards the center. I also like how each level had a different setting and enemy types. My favorite was Death Step :)

Developer

Hey! thank you very much for playing Last Bullet! In the last hours of development we tried to add collidable objects to prevent the gameplay to be based on  running in circles around the map, but unfortunately the way the character was coded made it very difficut for us to add object that collide with,  so we couldn´t do it D,x, we have several rock and scary tree assets that we couldn´t use.

Again, thanks for playing and im very happy that you enjoyed it! <3

A really strong game! 🙂

The visual style fits the minimalism, the different levels each feel different, and the many enemies that felt unique!

It got a little bullet-hell like towards the end, so I was a little worried I would not be able to get to the end (especially because I did not know where the health bar is), but I managed to survive.

The integration of the theme was nicely done, although I did not play any different from a normal shooter, because each bullet was only marginally stronger than the previous. Maybe if the difference were exponential and there were a cool effect on the last shot, I would definitely have chosen more closely where to shoot it.

Perhaps you could also add a scoring system (less bullets used = more score 😉).

Overall, this is one of the most fun games I have played in this jam. Very well done!

Developer(+1)

The life bar seemed like a great idea to us that when taking damage the tombstone would fill up and when it was full you would lose the game, but in the end it was not very well undestood. What you say about the damage change seems like a great idea! We also thought about implementig a scoring system but in the end we ran out of time and we were very tired haha.
We are very happy that you left us this feedback  and that you liked "Last Bullet" <3 when the jam ends we will probably make some modificacions and take the feedback into account again thanks! <3

A solid entry! I won the game, it's quite simple, but looks great with a high quality retro vibe. Good job, I loved the game

Thank you very much for playing, we are glad you liked it x)

Nice looking pixel art everywhere. I didn't notice such damage changes. Even if the damage display as numbers I didn't give much attention. I did notice speed changes.

Nice pixel art, well done.

Developer

We try to show the change in damage with colors but it is true that the player does not look at the enemies when shooting but focuses more on dodging thanks for the feedback and for playing Last Bullet! <3

Cool game, I like it

Thanks for playing!

Really nice game: the take on the time is quite solid (and how couldn't it be, with that many interpretations hahaha).  It reminded me of Enter the Gungeon. The graphics are obviously quite good, and I think the minimalist aesthetic was done quite well.

For me, the low point was the music... I'm no composer, far from it in fact, but I found that it looped too early, and was a bit too dissonant (specially the second stage).

Took me two tries to beat. Good job! As I said, this is one good entry :)

Developer(+1)

Hey Thanks for the constructive criticism, i´m not a composer either, that´s why it probably sounds like that haha. We´ll keep it in mind for our next projects. Thank you very much for playing Last Bullet!

Nice, really reminds me of Prairie king in Stardew Valley (but better :)

Developer

Oooh niice i had never played Prairie King, looks quite similar, thanks for playing Last Bullet x)

I'm really not good at playing such type of games. :-P But I liked it! The graphic style is nice!

Developer

Wonderful pixel art, great character controller, engaging combat, and impressive array of enemies!

I had a bunch of fun with this game and think you did a great job with the theme.

Some improvements I think you could make: 1) I had a hard time telling when I got hit as (especially as it started getting more chaotic) maybe you could add a hit noise to your character when you get hit? 2) it might be nice to have some powerups / a dash to deal with cluttered screens?

Overall this was a charming and fun to play game that honored the theme of the jam! Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for the feedback! In fact, powerups were planned but had to be scrapped because of time limitations! Thanks for the improvement tips, will take them into account for our next development! <3 Have a great day!

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for the constructive criticism we really apreaciate it, we had planned add some powerups but in the end we ran out of time, the sound when receiving an attack is a really interesting idea, thank you again for playing Last Bullet! <3

Really well made art, especially the bigger stuff like the end screen and itch background. Enemy variety is nice and the core gameplay feels satisfying. Good job!

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback! Pixeliivii is responsible for the pixelart and music, big credit to him for that! Have a great day <3

Developer

Thank you Rosechamber it means a lot to me that you enjoyed the art x) <3

Nice mechanics and beautiful graphics!

Very clever theme usage; it's very original.

Congrats!

Developer

Thank you for playing Keichi! <3

Damn, first time around I died on the last stage. But hey, second time's the charm: Evil Banished!

It's a really solid game, love the artwork!

Developer(+1)

Yes, the last stage can be surprising haha, thanks for playing!  <3

Submitted(+2)

Awesome job! Keep up the good work!

Developer

Thank you very much for playing! <3

Evil Banished!

I had some C64 vibes, also really like the colors. Extension idea: another type of weapon or shooting mode? But I understand that then the levels have to be redesigned, because it might be too easy

Developer(+1)

It was planned but later cut because of level design and quantity of planned levels! Thanks for playing, it means a lot!!! <3<3
