Pretty fun game! Has some cool speedrunning, and just general replayability, potential thanks to the different loadouts and the basic, vector-y artstyle works for this kind of game. Definitely feel like there's some potential here.

Nice execution. Tight gameplay. Was fun experimenting with different builds to see what worked best for me. Well done!

Interesting take.

Nice small and fun game (NEO, pickup the phone :))

Good job!

Submitted

good job with the accessibility options. building different mechs was fun! good balance of the different systems!

Submitted

Good idea! Also props for having controls options

I love the concept - I don't think I've ever seen anything like it before and I can imagine how awesome it would be if developed into a full game (I know you said in the game description that you won't go back to it, but still, it's a cool idea!)

Impressive that you managed to fit in not only an options screen with keybinds, but a playable tutorial, albeit a basic one. Solid work overall!

Submitted

Like the idea,  little simplistic and very short but understandable due to the short timeframe. BTW: The game plays much better in full screen mode for some reason, recommend noting that in the comment.

Good integration of the temperature mechanic to ensure people do not just spam all day. Nice sound effects as well!

Nice and fun game. Making a tutorial to try out was a nice touch, congrats!

Submitted

Really cool game and idea, I unfortunately couldn't get far (I'm not great at these type games lol😅) but I had fun trying different parts and see how far I could get.  It's very replayable and enjoyable

Submitted

Short but good! I ended up building a speedrunning suit and try to go as fast as possible. Got a 0:12 with healty head, corrupted, chicken legs and eternal fire.

Developer

Haha, surprised to see such a short time! I also tried the build but didn't get too far. and especially didn't expect eternal fire to be viable at all.

Thanks for playing

Submitted

Eternal fire is very effective when used in short bursts, the tanky build was made so I wouldn’t die instantly. Replayed just now and got a 0:11 by skipping over a tall wall (and all but one soldier) ;]

Tutorial / Keys binding / top features on the main menu. Tried different builds and liked hare boots with pistol, yeah i'm a patient shooter. Maybe your could just switch body part colors for different pieces of equipment so a hared boots with pistol guy would look a bit different from the standard characters. Good work pulling out this game all by yourself.

Developer

Hey thanks!

Somewhat glad to hear that the top features were the tutorial and key rebinding. And I might in the future, I'm not a good artist and didn't quite plan much for the art in the final hours but I can see a different art having a better effect ingame. And again, thank you!

Submitted

Nice game liked the title name and you have options omg

Developer

Thanks, I appreciate it! And yeah, those options... I copied from godot's template projects, "Input mapping gui"

Building the different robots was fun,  I could not make it very far due to not having arrow keys on my keyboard ( have to use function sets to simulate an arrow press ) but I really enjoyed the look of the game!

Developer

Hey thanks!

One of the things I tried to set for the game was the option to rebind your keys. Maybe that'll help you? And a tip, rebind the button for text and shooting, seems that was my biggest mistake.

I liked experimenting with the different parts given, but I feel like right now, the obvious better choice would be the overloaded machine gun. Since heat dissipates instantly, it's easy to keep cool by just waiting a little bit. Maybe you can add in the future a dissipation timer.
Still quite a fun game.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Seems like it would be an interesting idea, a dissipation timer. Originally, I tried to tween the heat so it would decrease over time, but I have no real idea how to use it. Will try in the future. Thank you!

This was an interesting game... Configuring my robot didn't make sense to me at first, so I just went with a standard build and I was surprisingly going through levels relatively easily. The game craved for a soundtrack, but overall it's a decent entry. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Hey thank you!
I struggled to find some proper music for the game and I tried to make the default build easy to simply click and go. Again, thank you!

Had fun playing around with different player parts, unfortunately I kinda sucked and kept dying hahahh the dialogue boxes were really cool, 'enter' did feel a little strange as the shoot button initially but was otherwise good! Great job!

Developer(+1)

Hey there!

Glad to hear you had fun and I think the enemies ended up being a bit too unfair in some segments. I'll try to find possible fixes after the jam.

And yeah, the enter as the shoot button was a bad choice in my part. Still, thank you!

Submitted

I liked the simple design you used and the options you had for parts. I also loved the ending. You somehow fit a story into such a short game!

Developer

Hey, thank you! I was worried the story wouldn't be understood/was too subtle. Glad to see I was wrong

Submitted

Great game. I always dreamt about making such a tutorial. You inspired me. But I find it a little odd as the player fires during the dialog continuation as the "enter" key fire up the weapon and next dialog button.

Developer

Hey thank you!

Now in retrospect, I should have indeed added a different button - or at least "frozen" the game while it was up. And glad to have inspired you for the tutorial!

Great concept! I love the 80's cyberspace vibe.

Developer

Hey, thank you!

I was really aiming for some retro futuristic vibes but couldn't find material or source (since I forgot the name). Glad to hear I was able to convey the vibes!
