I love that these are legitimate puzzles with some "aha!" moments in them.  That's really great for a short jam game.  I might be getting a little burnt out on rotating mirrors (not your fault) so I echo others' sentiments about a bit more variation in the music and more speed in the controls... but also I couldn't just swap cards out and experiment once they were placed.  Dunno if that's a bug or not, but the constant restarting was what really dominated my play time.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and for playing our game! Sadly I had only the last day of the jam to build the levels and nobody could do some playtesting. The fact that placed cards cannot be swapped is intended but yeah with more playtesting I would have changed that for sure. Lesson learned for the next games!

I really like your guy’s game! The core mechanics are the same as mine, but there are changes that make them very different to play. That being said, take my feedback with a grain of salt, as I’m super biased based on the game I made.
I messed up the rotation in my game, but you could check it out to get some ideas on how you could do yours. I allowed the player to adjust without any snapping to certain positions, which ended up being super finicky and frustrating. I have a few ideas on how to fix this thanks to all the great comments I got on my game.
I feel like your music is a bit distracting from the gameplay, but my game has no background music, so that’s probably why I feel that way. I’m sure I could have turned down the music in the settings, but I never tried it out.
Also, is it intentional that the beams are always a couple degrees off from 90 degree reflections?

Anyway, great game! I really like the story behind the gameplay and the art work. Very well done!

Developer

thanks for playing and your feedback! I messed it up too with the mouse so I went the keyboard route, and had no time to figure out how to do that properly in the end but yeah even mine need a rework.

At the beginning the non 90* was just to resolve a little bug, but once fixed I've decided to keep it like that anyway since I do not wanted to have issues on some cases that I might come into with some formulae I used, so in the end yeah it was just a trick to avoid potential bugs, since I allowed fixed rotation angles.

The music is a bit repetitive and I agree that's distracting too, but I enjoyed playing that in a loop while I was designing the levels ahah

Very interesting idea and implementation! Although some details are very confusing, especially with why they rotate rays only one side but not the other. But it was a curious puzzle, I liked it! Yet I wasn't able to un-drag the tile for some reason so I had to restart after every mistake - I think this torture is unnecessary ^_^

Neat idea! I like that there's a wide range of reflectors and refractors, really mixes up the gameplay and makes each level feel fresh. I'd suggest altering the speed at which the objects rotate. It initially feels too slow, but then the sped-up version feels too fast. There might be a sweet spot in-between. Otherwise, great game!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! Rotating the shapes needs a rework for sure, I'm trying to figure out what will works the best, maybe rotating with the mouse and then allowing A/D for precision could be a good option

Really great entry! Not only is the reflection, but refraction too! I thought the controls were very intuitive and liked the music too!

I like the game, especially the light rays look good and the music has a neatly fitting vibe which makes this game have a nice atmosphere. Some levels are a bit too difficult (I got stuck on level 5) and I agree that the undo cards are a bit frustrating, as they are limited and you need to restart the after only two mistakes. But it is generally a good looking, sounding and fun game.

Developer

Glad you liked the atmosphere! yup level 5 should be level 10 for its difficulty. Thanks for playing it

Had a good time with this one, though I got stuck on level 5 for long enough to put the game down.  I think it would be a good change to let the undo cards be reusable instead of giving the player more than one, having to restart the level after misplacing two objects got frustrating after the first few tries.

Developer

Yeah, level 5 came out harder than expected.. and thanks for the feedback, we'll make them reusable after the voting period!

This was a fun game! I completed all the levels, took me a bit cuz I couldn't figure out how light prisms work lol, one thing I'd suggest is changing the way all the shapes rotate because they're way too slow at the start and then start moving really fast if you hold it for a bit

Developer

Thanks for playing and the feedback! You're right about the rotation speed, we'll rework on it!

Pretty cool use of reflection mechanics, I like the idea of colored reflectors only reflecting their own color as it is based in reality as well!

Developer

thanks for playing our game and that you liked the idea. In the beginning I tried to make the light act as in reality but in the end I had to let it slip a bit due to the time span and gameplay stuff

Very creative use of light refraction. Levels 1 and 2 were a breeze, but level 3 and 4 offered a nice challenge, and level 5 had me stumped. still, I loved the gameplay.

Developer

Thanks for playing, yeah level 5 came out to be harder than we thought ahah. I'm glad you liked the game!

Your thumbnail caught my eye and I wasn't disappointed. Seeing that triangle prism splitting light out through the various colours in game looks so good!! I made it through levels 1 and 2 with no issue, level 3 gave me some challenge and I unfortunately could not figure out level 4 but enjoyed what I played of your game.

Intro cutscene is a great addition as is the saving of my level progression. Would've loved a bit more of that prism colour fun reflected (get it) in the UI but otherwise everything looks great.

I will say on my first play I'd kind of rushed passed the UI telling me how to rotate so had to relaunch as I couldn't figure it out on my own. Controls work fine mostly although rotating speeds up loads at a point so I had to tap arrow keys instead of holding them. All in all, great work gamers! :)

thanks for your feedback and I'm glad you liked the game! Maybe we rework on the UI after the jam voting ends, I really like your idea
