Spooky guwaaa!

Lets get the issue out of the way 1st:

  • Player can see through walls
  • I feel like some interact doesn't work or stuck
  • The key object seems to blend into the environment a bit too well

Aside from that, I do like how spooky and staticky vibe you make! Like watching through a creepy old TV!

Bro your walls don't work.
Like if you find a corner and walk into it you'll raise up into the ceiling.
But if you sprint into a corner you will simply phase through the wall. As far as I can tell that's every corner. In the game, and a few spots where the lockers meet the wall or where the wall meets a column.

It would appear that you can also bring up the victory screen by pressing G pretty much at any point in the game. Even before Gura and the other Gura are done talking. So I believe I've completed it the fastest. owo

It does look good. The VHS effect over the samey maze-like school hallways is creepy when you're not blasting through walls like the Juggernaut. There's definitely more to this game than what I've seen. (aww well) 

Jam Judge

The spooky ambience is well done. I really liked the environment and the little props with references scattered arond the rooms.

Very straightforward search-for-keys-and-dont-get-found game.


Improvement suggestions:

- Bug: The game keeps going full screen even after I set it to window mode.

- Bug: Opening the pause menu and clicking on the UI at the start caused the intro dialogue to progress.

- I never used the flashlight. What was it for?

- The keys are very hard to see. Maybe it's part of the game challenge, but I'd appreciate if they had a slight glow on them.

- The interact prompt has a very long range. Opening doors from so far away felt weird.

- For a scary game, the game over screen is very tame. XD

- I cleared the game with only 7/10 keys? Not sure if intentional or bug.

I intrigues me whenever someone makes a hololive horror game for some reason.
Not a big fan of horror games usually, mostly due to the over-usage of jumpscares, so I really appreciate that this game didn't go down that route.
Atmosphere is done really well, and the aberration and grain effect are a nice touch.
Layout of the level can be a little confusing at times, especially when there are quite a few fake doors around.
Also, pretty funny that when Gura is backed into a corner she will ascend beyond the ceiling.
Side note, very interesting choice of using knowledge checkpoint with pressing a keyboard button to win, just curious if there is a limitation or a specific reason for this?

LOL I picked up the key that was right in front of the Kano picture and I got an immediate game over. I didn't reealize that Gura was behind me, and I thought for a bit that it was just a silly game over condition.

Overall very fun and scary, when you leave a room and Gura immediatly sees you and starts chasing you.

I found the door to the void and couldn't resist walking in >.<. Nicely done.

Nice to have a horror game in this jam! I think the game is to bright, it somewhat removes the spooky factor for me and makes the flashlight useless.
There is also a bug where you interact with the locker at the start and it opens the exit door / changes the objective.
A stamina bar and music/sfx when red gura chases you would be nice.
Anyway cool game and nice references :)

We did have some ideas during development on a power grid objective, but ran out of time during implementation. I like the idea of the extra sound effects though! We’ll probably look into that once the jamb is over.

This game is really scary actually but I did really enjoy it. I think a message saying that a door is locked if you try to interact with it without the key would be really nice but overall its a very spooky game done well.

Is there some problems with the game or is it just me? I can't click anything in the menu, so I couldn't start the game. The game looks interesting though, so if it's really a bug, I will check it again once it's fixed.

Hello! That’s strange… it was working for most of us during testing. We’ll take a look and let you know know of any updates! For now, could you try re-downloading the game and see if it persists?

An update! We made some changes that should hopefully resolve this! Try downloading the latest version (v1.01). If there are any loading problems, enable the “Disable Effects” toggle in the settings.

It might have been something on my side too since I'm running Linux, but I got it to run. Overall I like the atmosphere of the game, feels really suspenseful, but I was feeling a bit lost finding the keys. Not sure if it's normal for games like these, not usually playing these. All the closed doors made it pretty difficult to find anything or know where to go. Some guide or indications would have been helpful. But maybe it's just not my kind of genre.
