Description
I started working on this track by designing some cool sounds in Vital on the first day of the jam, then procrastinated whole way through the jam and only started working on the project a few hours before the deadline, so don't expect anything crazy good lol. Nonetheless I still was satisfied with the final result, so I decided to submit it. I had so much fun making this track. It’s something really experimental (at least for me), but it’s that weird on purpose. Since this is a laid back jam focused on creativeness, I decided to go all the way and design all sorts of weird sounds and use things in weird, unusual ways (at least in ways I don’t usually compose/produce). Most of the sounds were made in Vital specifically for this track. The other sounds are orchestral instruments with some post processing. At the end there was so much effects and stuff that my poor laptop wasn’t keeping up, so I didn’t really do any “polishing”, but I hope it’s still “listenable” and you’ll enjoy it anyway :D

(Also I have so much ear fatigue lol. I hope this track won’t turn out to be absolute garbage when I listen to it tomorrow morning lmao)

Love your synth textures and use of distortion! Great work!

Excellent use of distortion! I felt like it was dynamic for the most part all the way through the track. Definitely a well put together piece.  I really enjoyed the ending.

Awesome track! Absolutely not garbage :D it has a strong opening and stays interesting all the way to the end. Great job :D

It was mesmerizingly beautiful... Synthesizers, orchestral instruments... Cool! Definitely - this is one of my most favorite publications of this jam...

What is this genre called in general?)

immediately starting the track, the deep groaning synth you have droning is super intense and sends chills running down the back! i imagined a post-apocalyptic type landscape going alongside your track, kind of like post nuclear war vibes. i like the move from ambient to more movement in the second half of your track. my only critique is adding some variation in the first part of the second half of your track, particularly in the chord progression in the first part (you do a good job at this when the very well composed percussion chimes in later on)! overall this is definitely one of my favorite submissions though and i really had fun listening to this and picturing a story within my head to run alongside it. very dark, unsettling, and emotional and in the best way! great work!!!!

Digging the blend between ambient, rock and orchestral, and some really cool sound design at the beginning! Great work!

Wow, I totally get feeling unsatisfied and time limits, but I love this!! It's a very distinct vibe that reminds me a lot of cryoshell, perfect for the dark theme. The sound design and orchestral effects compliment each other very well. Variations to the harmony or a faster rhythm section could be a next direction--love the string ostinatos as is--but the vibe you create with textures/harmonic choices is excellent.

Sound design, 3:30 is so cool! i'd love to hear more moments like that. The effect at the ending too, I could see that evolving into something very intense, maybe heavy metal elements? But yea, keep experimenting!

Nice sound design. That two-note synthline at the very end is my personal favourite.

Wow- when that piano comes in my head just fluttered for a moment because its such a breath of fresh air after the excitement of these more out there electronic experimental vibes. As someone who is not great at writing percussion parts I loved what you did especially with the hi hat lines! It was super engaging.

Definately strong post rock vibe there!
Nise melodies, good work!

This would go well together with a Silent Hill style game! This really gives me the same sort of melancholic, but slightly hopeful vibes I get from listening to theme of Laura from Silent Hill 2.

So even if you think this isn't crazy good, I really liked it!

Very cool textures, especially those two swelling synths towards the start. That rhythm that comes in close to the middle is so cool. Great work!

For not expecting someting crazy I think you did a pretty good job with everything. Its sounds actually great nice long build up I was afraid the drums would be too boring but you mixed it up a bit, the mix sounds good. Enjoyed listening.

The notes that came in halfway through that ping-ponged between my ears was my favorite part.
