I really enjoyed this! I don't think I managed to find the correct ending though, I ran through about 4 times and couldn't figure out how to get the bodyguards gun as Marie gave it to Dr Caffein each time. Really enjoyed it regardless, as the graphics were great, the sound effects and music were immersive and the storytelling was wonderful, each character was well fleshed out for a gamejam game! Really great job.

Also, I didn't have a clock which was weird!

Developer

I think I should have added something like ending 1 out of 3 or something like that. If you got the end with the choice, you got the true ending.

Thank you for playing !

Oh, what an interesting game! The first time I got shot, the game just closed by itself though. I thought that was part of the story lol. When I played the second time, it just went back to the beginning. So I think the closing was a bug? Also, probably better to use WASD instead of the arrow if we are meant to use the space button as well. Kinda awkward to spread my finger across.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the story, gameplay, art and sound. Great job!

Developer

Yeah it was a bug XD Thank you for playing !

Developer

Thank you.

Indeed making the game crash when you die could be a nice mechanic ^^ Probably for some other game theme but it could really work (especially if you could design an interesting error message) You got lucky to crash on your own death aha

Cool game! Actually, it takes me back to when I used to binge play point and click adventure games, well done.

rare to see a story game in a jam but i liked it! the story is definitely the focus, and the game is designed well around it. clues are revealed logically as the game progresses. the sound design and music are really quite good, and the art fit the mood well. however, the gameplay is a little monotonous. the player is able to go back in time, but that feature is rarely used, which i felt was a missed opportunity. the controls were also janky, not being able to use wasd is usually not a problem, but when i have to use the space key, it felt very unnatural to control the game.

Developer

Thx for feedback !

I didn't know the contrôls we're weird because that's the way I play must of games XD

Great story, but without spoiler i couldn't find the solution i'm too bad :c Good job !

Developer

Thx !

Great game loved the story

Very cool! Love the way the story is told in little increments, and the moving back and forth through time. Game crashed when I got the bad ending, and I agree with everyone who says that arrows+space+mouse is an awkward control scheme. But I found it compelling enough to replay for the true ending, and that's the real test of a game like this. Good job.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing !

I'm not aware of this crash, it's strange. I'll look into it.

Very well polished and stylish murder mystery! The hook of reliving moments of time through traversing between the cars leads to an engaging core loop and the unfolding narrative was gripping, especially when framed against the time constraints!

One complaint is that separating the arrow keys, mouse, and spacebar for the main interactions, it's quite uncomfortable to play. Having left-click as both the inspect and text crawl would be a good option for inputs.

The music was really well composed, too! Well done all around.

This was super nice! The storytelling is incredible, and the pixel art is on spot too! I have faced a couple of bugs, but you know, that´s how game jams work. Anyways, really impressed with the size of the game, knowing the short time to make it, great job this was a neat experience :)

Developer

Thank you so much !

 I'll play yours tomorrow !

Great game! It was very interesting! I would have prefered it if you had chosen different key, because it was harder to navigate this way. But the game was very engaging! I loved your art and the animations! Really awesome! I just couldn't see the ending yet, because my game crashed right before the end. not sure why

Developer

Right before the end ??

I know about a crash near the beginning but not that.

Thx for feedback !

Submitted

yeah, at least i guess it was right before the end, because it seemed like a last conversation with the wife

I really liked the atmosphere and that intro music was great. The only thing that bothered me was the controls, I'd have chosen WASD instead of the arrow keys, as I found myself switching my keyboard hand from spacebar to the arrow keys. Perhaps allowing one to skip the chat by clicking would work as well.

Developer(+1)

Thx for the feedback !

I didn't realised that because I've played Minecraft with arrow keys, space and mouse for 7 years now XD

Hello there!

I really love your game concept and your plot. Also, your art and your music create just the right atmosphere for a mystery. I think this can become a very interesting game once the bugs are fixed.

Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you ! There will indeed be a post jam version.

Ambitious idea for a jam timeframe, it shows in a few bugs, but I liked the concept, the story and the visuals are great.

Submitted(+1)

Lovely story and art style, I like the idea of multiple ending, had some issues with a couple of bugs but the description allows me to pass them. i'm impressed you manage to get so many dialogues in a short time, were you thinking about the story before the jam started?
Well done!

Developer

thank you ! Yes, there's so many paths you can take that I must have forgot to test the one with the bug.

Actually I spent half of the jam on the story.

I love the story! Was really fun to play!

I was able to get to the end without crashing and gosh is the story interesting, one thing is that I never understood how to get the not that was deserve to Marie and also how to cocktail things work, but I had a lot of fun playing it and even tried 3/4 times to get a different ending. Good job!

Developer

Thank you !

What did you not get ? I don't understand

Submitted(+1)

Was there an impact to the asking the bartender a different drink?

Developer

White cocktail is useless, red allows you to get the Bodyguard drunk and coffee undo the effects of the blue cocktail

I got really into this and wanted to finish it, but there is a bug where my game crashes when I click on my wife in the second train car. I'm not sure if it's from me standing too far away or if it's a bug. But other than that this game is amazing! great art, really cool twist on the concept, and I'm amazed you wrote out this much dialogue in a weekend. Please let me know if you identify the cause of the bug so I can finish the game!

Developer

I know, the bug and how to avoid it is written on the game's page. Sorry for the inconvénience. I hope you'll like the rest of the game :)

Submitted(+1)

oops, I probably should have read more thoroughly

Hello! Is there a MacOS version for your game?

Developer(+1)

I'll upload a link to one. I guess it's fine if nothing change from the submitted version

Developer(+1)

I added a Mac version, tell me if this works :)

Submitted(+1)

Cool! I'll take a look.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)
