Cute puzzle platformer!
fun but hard
hard game but good game
Damn, games like this remind me that I’m absolute trash at pure platformers. Seeing others say “difficulty was perfect!” or seeing stuff like 17 deaths is crazy lmao, this game kicked my butt.
Nice work with this. It felt like a good execution of a tried-and-true formula. The level of polish is super impressive and everything looks really great. My only real frustrations came from my own skill issues. Something about spikes on the ground at the same level as the player breaks my brain. Also sometimes it felt like I’d move to a new screen and immediately die to a hazard, but that feels intentional, like just making sure the player always takes their time when they enter a new screen.
Anyway, great job. Loved the music too!
That's absolutely fine! Not many people are that good with platformers, and I tried making it easier for everyone even by tweaking the hitboxes and all. The main problem is that I am too good at playing platformer games, thus, I fail to see that certain aspects requires way certain levels of skill. As for unintentionally dying when changing the screen, I tried my best to avoid that issue by, 1) making it change the screen earlier not when being exactly in the middle of the adjacent screens, 2) placing obstacles not less than 2 blocks or 16 pixels aways from the edges (most of the time unless the two screens are somewhat related), and 3) tweaking the speed of the character, but I also wanted to make it feel responsive and not too slow in case someone is speedrunning it. Your time is really nice though. I'm glad you liked it!
I watched a video of this and almost rated.. but then I played. 5/5. The level design, the music, the pace of mechanics being introduced.. the checkpoints.. and the HIT BOXES 😍
It's one of the only games I could not put down. I completed it with these stats:
9:50 time played
1/11 Crowns? (probably?)
17 deaths
340 jumps
Now I want to skip my next meeting and top that score.
Very well done!!!
PS: I actually saw some of the updates on twitter and was worried about the subpixel animations but making that a setting (defaulted to off) was a brilliant touch.
Thanks for your nice words! I'm really happy that you found the whole experience quite enjoyable. I have put so much effort into making the details of the game, though I believe the game could've benefitted from a slightly better level design, and maybe some more content. Each of the 11 levels has a hidden crown that you need to collect to complete the game. You can reset your stats in the settings if you want to start over. I kept subpixels as an option because that I had so much jittering and unacceptable shaky movement when the game was strictly following the 64x64 rule. I later fixed all these issues and optimised the game to run better at lower resolutions, but I kept it for those looking for a more fluid movement. Thanks again for your interest. Have a wonderful day!
Nice job! This game was really polished for a jam game, a couple of the checkpoints were a little unforgiving, but definitely not a deal breaker. I might try again later, and see if I can get all the crowns :)
Very cute game, very cute graphics and very cute music :), but I find the game too punitive because as soon as we hit something we shouldn't, we restart from too far back. The game should either have more checkpoints or not kill you instantly imo. Apart from that everything is adorable <3
I do agree that the game needs more checkpoints in some levels, and that the last few levels are less forgiving and generally harder to play since they were a bit rushed. I will take it into consideration when I work on this or another project in the future. Thanks for playing!
Awesome game, almost perfect.
Good job
Saw this one in development, always thought it was super cute!
Great platforming game, the difficulty was perfect for me. And thanks for including gamepad controls, I just wish I could use the analog stick to move around since I find the D-pad to be a bit uncomfortable. Well done!
Fun neat minimalist game.
The most adorable platformer in this jam ~ love a stupid lil` duck (pray for more save points though :))
love the cute graphics, and it's so challenging!
Incredibly polished game. Mechanics were interesting, great music, tight controls. Great job!
Super fun! Great job all around! Cute but deadly.
Nice little platformer with many cool and fun ideas. Definitely not too easy but still enjoyable enough to keep going. The boss fight at the end was…brutal!
Not much to say - pretty typical platformer, but it's not a bad things, cause playing this was a pleasure. Neat use of limitations, although FPS without sub pixels is no way near acceptable. Wish to have a liiiiiiitle higher jump, but that would make everything too easy xD
I limited the FPS in non-subpixel mode to 40, because anything above that causes the movement to be so shaky and unbearable in my opinion. I think that also makes sense as games with such resolution were always made for older hardware with even FPS as low as 10! I believe the level design is was needs to be tweaked not the jump. What do you think? I'm happy you enjoyed the game!
Level desing is fine - feels natural, at least. But add a little jump power, and it will be like a chef's kiss. ALSO! (chainsaw blades have smaller collider than a sprite - better fix that, cause that's the only major flaw i can name). And check our game as well - we are interested in getting as much feedback as we possibly can!
Hell yeah I love the way the introducktion is written, sadly the game doesn't load
Can you elaborate more why it doesn't work, or send a screenshot?
Edit: If it's just a blank screen, the game downloads around 3mb before it shows anything, after so, it downloads another 2mb which is the actual game files. Try waiting a bit if your internet is that slow. It will eventually show up.
I gave up after being stuck at Preparing... (1/2) for 10 minutes and reloading the page several times
Preparing phase ends in like a second really. Here is what you can do:
1) load the game in incognito mode. (it might be that the essential files to run the game didn't load correctly and the corrupt version is cached)
2) If that doesn't solve the problem, open the Console. Right click anywhere on the page --> Insepct --> Console tab --> reload the page and show me whatever error you get.
No corrupted files.

I don't remember you had to give permissions for websites to access local storage
You normally don't. It might be that you are using some extension or some weird privacy-concerned gaming-ish web browser. But if unity games run fine for you, this one should too. (It wasn't made with unity, but the web port is using the something related to unity I believe)
I'm using plain chrome with the only privacy-regarding extension being uBlock, which I don't beleive is related to the problem. I guess I'll just download the game for windows then after trying to tweak some chrome settings
If you are using Windows, just use Edge. I'm also using uBlockOrigin with no problems. If problem persists, I guess you will have to download it.
Nice and cute platformer. Thank you for checkpoints )
You are welcome!
