Like others have said, the cut scenes and voice acting really make this enjoyable. The models were nice too.

I think it would have benefited from some way to identify the ships farther away (even as a single pixel). Not sure if the music falls into "legal right to use" (from the jam faq), but it perfectly fit the game.

Thanks for your feedback. There are many smaller things that I could have done to optimize it, but as with every game jam, there have to be sacrifices to meet the deadline :D

Be assured the music falls into legal right to use because a.) the author/composer has died over 70 years ago and b.) the recording was made by an US Air Force band and is public domain.

Sounds design/use is really well done here. As is typical with 3d is low rez, very distant things looks very odd, but graphics are otherwise consistent. Nice game!

I think someone took your idea and made a movie off of this.

I was in aw when I hit play, the fact that you were able to make cutscenes, voice acting, in two weeks! While having it fit a 64x64 ratio, I have nothing to say poorly about this game. It is easy to learn the controls, and the gameplay is fun. My heart is racing because I beardly dogged getting shot. I wonder what you are capable of if given more time, Keep making game. I hope to see more in the future!

Very cheeky use of Mars, the Bringer of War, by Gustav Holst

I actually really enjoyed this game, especially the explosions when hitting the obstacles. Will be coming back to play it again haha.

Great game. Very good graphics, visual effects and sounds. I also liked the atmosphere of the game. It's a really great piece of work that's a lot of fun to play.

Bravo! this is a truly authentic Star Wars experience. Everything from the visuals, music, & sfx perfectly matches the Star Wars vibe. I really liked the effect when things would fly right into the camera, although it did obstruct the view quite a bit. The game did run a bit long for the amount of content, but it was still a satisfying playthrough.

Superb!

Cool, someone should make a movie out of this.
I was definitely surprised by the amount of stuff you managed to get in, and the gameplay style felt fresh. It's not great that enemies appear from forward so 90% of the time you can't enjoy a good view of them, but that's not much of a problem. Three-lives-then-restart is cruel but at least we get rewarded with a cut scene. But, somehow on the second play I managed to beat it without losing a single life, so it's ok. Solid entry that provided some entertainment.

Really reminds me of an already existing movie … but I cannot remember the name of it …

Voice acting, nice cutscenes and overall a really cinematic experience. Sounds were a tad too loud for my taste, and there seems to be a lack of upscaling in the webbuild, but those are minor mistakes.

I do wish we had a little more variety in the encounters as in the last tunnel part I was kinda just zoning out and dodging, but that is nothing bad, only a food for thought for later expansions, if you want.

Amazingly executed entry otherwise!

Thanks for playing. I agree on the sounds, especially the voice lines, I probably forgot to normalize them after recording due to time.

I also wanted to add some other obstacles in the trench stage, but I was nearing the submission deadline and left them out. Since I wanted to stick to the rules and not change the build during the rating period I left everything as is, including the scaling. This is the intended size for the game anyways :D

Congrats!

This feels nicely intense despite a relatively simple gameplay. The background music and voice acting really adds to the overall atmosphere. Well done! :D

64x64 game with voice acting! <3 I loved playing this, and made me feel nostalgic feelings about Starwing on the SNES. The graphics are a bit rough around the edges, and I think there is some misconfiguration on the scaling for the webbuild. But I loved the idea and the gameplay loop feels good! Well done!

Fun, great cinematics. Made it to the trench on my first play, going to try to beat it soon.

Neat! The graphics are perfect for this jam. With the cutscenes it all feels very cohesive and polished. It kind of reminds me of a movie I saw once... eh, maybe its just my imagination.
