The idea is awesome and the execution and style is one of the best I've seen so far.

Though it felt the struggle of combining combat with the music timing, if I can advise you could even drop the "combat" and have the notes you play or the streak of timed attack activate world events or interact with instrument npc in a certain puzzle/rythmic way, just my two words I think that adhering to close to the rules of exploration of classic metroid vania for your project may be detrimental. I would love to see your idea fully fledged because everything looked and sounded awesome in what I have played!

The whole baroque theme was so awesome with those clavicembals raging.

The idea of doing damage to the beat of the music is very cool, but it's too hard to damage enemies, since the music does not focus on the moment when damage should be done. The style itself is cool, as well as the music. I was able to pass it only because you can't die in the game))

I really like the theming of enemies and the musical note projectiles, especially the jumping piano! I recorded my playthrough here at timestamp: 2:01:40

Very nice design and sound. I actually stopped for a second and did listen to the music. Also found the stickman too. We have all been there. Good luck with the burnout. Thank you for the game <3

Conceptually amazing. Probably one of the most original ideas I've seen in the jam so far, despite being unfinished. And the art, music, and sound design are all so cohesive and cool.

Obviously, a bit difficult to give much in terms of feedback because of the game's unfinished state. I did find it quite difficult to get the timing right. (In fact, I had a really good time launching myself across rooms by getting the timing wrong, haha.) I'm not very good at games in general though, so maybe the difficulty is where you want it.

The concept is really great, and I hope that after taking all of the time to rest that you need, you feel like you can return to it. It's already very cool as it is!

(And, it sounds like you made a good call submitting what you had so far and letting yourself rest! I don't know who you are, or what all you've done, but I can tell you that you deserve to lay back and chill for as long as you need. We need you in tip-top shape, so you can make the best games for us!)

Oh thanks for the kind words mate, I really appreciate it. I don't know if I'll be able to come back to this game and fix it, but if so, I'll probably redo it entirely.

Thoroughly enjoyed the musical concept intertwined with the enemies and overall game design! It was a delightful experience to contribute to the background music through actions like attacks and double jumps. Stellar work on this submission!

kinda sad u didn't finish, I can definitely  see the potential in the game... art and music were really good, controls were very responsive

Yeahh I did too many game jams in a row and kind of got burnt out near the middle of this one. Thanks for the kind words though

Has great potential, though unfinished. The art style is very cute and the soundtrack is nice. Found the attack on beat mechanic a little finnicky (but I'm also pretty bad at precise timings) but overall the game was great. Hope you recover from burnout!

I think this idea has some legs for sure, would be cool to see it fleshed out more! I like the big frog guy

great game! i can see the potential, the timing to hit on the beat is very hardcore

A very novel game, unfortunately with lower completion::>_<::, but its style is impressive enough.ˋ( ° ▽、° )

Really loved the look of this game, the pixel art and all the instrument-based enemies, and the giant frog dude - it felt really unique and with its own style. The game is short and unfinished, but the rhythm-based attack mechanics would be great to expand on. The music was also really good - although far too chaotic for the gameplay! Something with a simple steady 4/4 beat would have made the rhythm aspects much more intuitive. Would love to see where this game goes!

What this game highlighted to me, is that my sense of timing is Baroquen ;)

I love the sound track, the enemies being the instruments was a great concept!

cool concept!  There seems to be a slight delay on the attack sound so even if you press on beat it doesn't register. would like to play more if this was adjusted.
