It's just so much fun to drill through it. I'm sure it's because the effects and sound effects are just right.

Loved playing this I lost track of time

Nice mechanic! Adicting game but maybe a bit repetitive, the sense of progression is really neat plus the graphics fits well even if the bricks remind me a bit of super mario bros from NES ^^ nice entry!

I cleared the game! It's so much fun! The feeling of the drill destroying the blocks feel really satisfying and the level progression feels really smooth.

Very nice game! Polished and really enjoyable to play

Would only suggest for enemies be able to destroy walls to spice things up!

Developer

That’s a very good idea to balance the game! Thank you!

good job, really fun game

This game feels excellent to play - the particles, score text, and sounds when drilling through blocks all create a nice warm feeling of good feedback.

There is an input issue when you travel diagonally and then let go of one direction, the drill continues to slide in the direction you just let go of. Other than that I could find no flaw with this game

Excellent submission all round!

I think you really...unearthed...something special here buddy! The gameplay is very addictive, and the music/sounds were a terrific match. I found the health spawns to be a little sparse and the enemies shot pretty quick from the get-go. I really enjoyed this though! Great job!

The game is fun and really juicy, but the pixel sizes aren't consistent and it annoys me, but overall great game!

Developer

“it annoys me” haha, I bet that you clear the dungeons completely and you don’t like to see any single rock without drilling. Thank you for playing!

The game is great, the controls are good and the sounds are "interesting".

Overall the game is just a nice to play and if you have some spare time you could totally play it.

Thanks for sharing :)

I played this game for like 20 minutes or so, and it was interesting to me.

Of course, WASD controls would be better, but that's not important. The main thing is that I had fun.

Those sounds XD.  Amazing job, playing it is so weirdly relaxing and I like that!

This game has a lot of charm haha. The visuals. music, and SFX all work together - and I absolutely love the "Yahoo!!" when you get a speed boost. I also like the sense of momentum that makes it more intense to control as you go faster an faster.

Plus, the concept of a random level exit is actually really cool. This reminds me of old arcade games in a way, but much more modern and polished. This is very impressive for a solo game. Congrats on reaching the finish line!

Fun game! I loved the drilling effects and inclusion of a score counter. I had a bit of a hard time controlling the drill when I got a couple of speed boosts, i found that if i held up then switch to a side I would continue sliding up until I hit something. I also had a lot of enemies spawn in walls so I could just ignore them.

Overall a nice polished game though, thank you for sharing!

This is a really good game, very fun and addicting. The way you get points and upgrade your drill make the game really fun. The artstyle is simple but very pleasing. I'm not sure how this fits the limitation as the levels don't seem to be random. The game overall is amazing however so great work!

VERY good player feedback! I really enjoyed the game.

Off topic question, but how old are you? You don't have to answer if you don't want :)

Developer

Thanks! I’m too young to reason, too grown up to dream.

Nice job! Well polished and nice effects.

In your own comment, you stated that many people will make a dungeon crawler. Well, the limitation for this jam was "roguelike" and not "dungeon crawler" so this game fits very well!

It's well polished (I really like the "YEEEEEE-HAAAW") and unbelievably satisfying. Only things to complain is that the levels seem not to be randomly generated (I am not sure about the different blocks. They might be random) which is a core part of a roguelike

But still: Really well done. Will play it again some time

A very interesting spin on the rogue-like!
This game has a lot of engagement, and I love that there's a decent upgrade system to provide incentive to keep going. Nicely done. :)

Developer (1 edit)

Probably many people will do a classic dungeon crawler with goblins and gold. I tried a different perspective inspired on the topic “EMPTY” and using the essential ideas of a dungeons crawler. Enemies and items are different every time you play.
