- Such delicate and fragile writing! Absolutely beautiful in how it uses subtlety and restraint to produce something that's just hauntingly beautiful throughout. I very much enjoyed the vocal gestures in "Mère, je t'aime". You do so very much with so very little here-- very impressive. I very much enjoyed the planarian figures in "L'appel de la Mer" up occasionally-- feels like a little nod to another "La Mer", but without being a pastiche, just a subtle and absolutely beautiful little reference-- it made me smile! I would suggest that incorporating non-musical elements (like birdsong or wave sounds) in game music can ultimately be more trouble than its worth-- obviously if you are working very closely with the audio team I'm sure there's a way to execute it, but that's effort I feel better spent on expanding your wonderful writing and sonic palettes. The length of the tracks too left me aching for more! You've written some stunningly beautiful textures in every single track and I would absolutely love to hear them extended and developed even more. Far from overstaying its welcome, this music goes too soon, I think. That's a wonderful position to be in-- you've written material that is so beautiful that your listeners are going to be left wishing for more. Stunning and beautiful work here, executed with utmost grace and skill.
Description
Compositions made using Logic Pro X
To me, the artwork depicts a young girl accompanied by a silhouette of her mother under the sea. In French, "Mère" (Mother) and "Mer" (Sea) are pronounced the same way, creating a play on words in the music titles blending the meanings of Mother and Sea.
Accompanying Text:
1. « The sea beckons. A voice traverses the horizon and a gentle current immerses your heart. The music box starts playing, that melody full of nostalgia that you've known since forever. »
2. « Drawn in by memories, you dive into the ocean of light. A soft warmth envelops you, embracing arms guiding you, full of love and tenderness. It is she who cradles you. »
3. « Mother, I love you, how to put it into words? My feelings for you are as a river ever flowing. These clear waters in which I bathe, here we will live. »

Theme
How does it fit the theme?
My first source of inspiration for this theme comes from the artwork. I wanted to combine the meanings of ''Mère'' (Mother) and ''Mer'' (Sea) that are phonetically the same in French, and that are present in the artwork. I secondly pulled inspiration from the theme "Inside my world" through my music. I did my best trying to transport the listener into the world in the picture through the combination of ambient sounds and the emotions depicted in the artwork.

L'appel de la Mer: The ambience is really wonderful in this track. I feel like I am both under and above water at the same time. The gentle piano has emotions of sweet feelings as well as apprehensive feelings. There is an interesting dichotomy in this track of feeling calm but also conveying a sense of worry with the strings adding tension. Beautiful track.
La caresse d'une mère: I really like how you make use of the full dynamic range in your soundtrack. The quietness in this track gives the sense of an unconditional love. I felt so at ease listening to this track.
Mère, je t'aime: The bells and voice are so beautiful in this track! This is my favorite of your tracks. I like the doubling of the bells and piano. The plucky tremolo is the perfect acoustic background pad for this track.
Overall: Super creative play on words for the concept - it’s almost like the image was made with that in mind! TThis soundtrack is exceptionally sweet and beautiful. I have a gentle calm and casual game in mind where the goal is mainly to just relax. Wonderful job - thank you for sharing!
Well, well... I'm not afraid to say it: You have made one of the most beautiful soundtracks of this jam! Musical instruments, effects and general vibes perfectly build the atmosphere of a water soundtrack!
Thank you. I really admire your work!
This one really flew under the radar! I'm in love with the ambience, quality sounds amazing. For some reason this feels like this would fit PERFECTLY in a World Of Wacraft zone. Which is saying a lot because the zone music in that game is VERY good. Great work :D
Lovely, really ambiant. Loved the vibe from start to finish. I don't really have a detailed feedback for I don't really do this kind of music, but I can say that I loved the soundesign and layering !
Good job ^^
This is lovely Evelina!!!
an ethereal journey, full of different colors and textures. Where each of them combine in an excellent manner due to the careful way in which they were treated. Furthermore, the quality of nuances in your work is incredible and very beautiful to listen to.
I think it’s the best, when I’m writing the rest of my critique in English. It is truly a wonderful picture you’re painting with your music. Such an awe-inspiring, beautiful and peaceful ambiance, I am very much enchanted by it.
This creates such a vivid world, I can absolutely feel the sea around me listening to this, I could have listened to it for hours! Splendid, I love your work!
Hey, you totally did bring me into the picture with this one. It had the perfect amount of ambience, subtlety, gentleness.... man. This was beautiful. Amazing job!!
This was so gorgeous, your soft piano writing was brilliantly supported by all those different backing ideas, just incredible writing all around - I could imagine this in a game!!!
Bon travail!

Lots of nice ambience sounds in Call Of the Sea. I love how none of the tracks are too overwhelming. It makes for a nice and calm listen.
I loved how you used the theme!
Very elegant and beautiful sounding entry. The soft piano always hits me in the feels when paired with good vocals in the background like you did on track 3. My favorite is track 3. Overall, very short but sweet submission. Keep it up!
the idea of something sounding so magical yet familiar, so in-your-face yet calm: that's what this sounds like. the piano is just beautiful across the whole thing, and i really liked track 3 since it captures the feeling the most. simply put amazing job.
What a beautiful submission! The instrumentation is fantastic, varied but cohesive enough to keep a consistent identity throughout. My favorite was “A mother’s caress”. Great job!
Wah this is an incredible piece you made there ! I feel like I'm taken on a journey through an underwater dream while listening to it, slowly and softly washing up on the shore by the end of the last track. It's so tasteful and balanced, well-mixed and subtly arranged, I can't get enough of it. A wonderful entry to this jam, and one of my new-found favourite as well, congratulations and thank you for sharing !
