Description
Despite being oriented mainly on orchestral music I sometimes try something more... experimental. Adventure game with very twisted ending? Why not? Combining instruments I never combined before? Yup, why not?

Music depicts journey of a little girl named Mina - full story here: https://3yy3.itch.io/dreamscape

First track, Dreamscape, depicts the imaginary world Mina lives in. Second, Inner Peace, also a little, but the Mina's imaginary world seems to be in a trouble. Third, sort of a battle track bearing the name Black and White depicts her fight against two evil spirits. Last track named Upside Down depicts her letting go and waking up from the coma.

Produced in Reaper DAW using libraries like Cinematic Studio Series, Audio Imperia Chorus, Vital, Spitfire Cinematic Pads, Apricot and others.
Flute in first track Dreamscape is made by me and played by me also. It's made from piece of aluminium pipe (for a homemade - sounds amazing to me).
I have also played the handpan in the second track Inner Peace.
Guitar riffs and chords in third track Black and White beautifully done by the great Laureano Marin Galvan.
Artwork by Alzbeta Zapletalova (Kete).

Enjoy! Otherwise, what's the point? :)

How does it fit the theme?
The story depicts imaginary world happening inside coma. Mina, how I named the girl, lives in her own dream world.

Really nice submission! Love the ambiences you've done and the fact that you played the handpan add a lot to "inner peace". Maybe the presence of the electric guitar in the third track breacks the coherence between the first two but it added something interesting in this track!

Thank you! 😊

Love the pad + flute combo in Dreamscape. Then the harp coming in followed by a great build-up into the strings made for a really beautiful first track! Black and White took me by surprise with the guitar in a great way! I just wished the percussion paired with the guitar happened sooner because it was so cool to listen to but you only get that in the very last quarter of the piece. Upside Down was a good peaceful and atmospheric piece which I always like to hear in an OST. Overall, this was a very solid submission!

Thanks a lot!

The overall ambience in track is very well made, I liked the way you experiment with some of your tracks like the guitar riffs in Black and White.

Thank you! :)

Really cool contrast between Black and White and the rest of the OST!

The gradual progression and layering in Dreamscape, Inner Peace and Upside Down is gorgeous - genuinely so well done. The wind is great - perfectly tender and evocative. Accompaniment surrounding is tasteful and so natural, too. Envious of the layering and production here - feel like I could learn a thing or two from these in all honesty.

Black and White is a departure from what I was expecting but is put together very well. Not an easy task mixing those blaring horns and some dramatic lead guitar. Came out well in the finish and really sets the tone for the purpose of this track. I think some percussion would've been the cherry on top to add a real driving force to this, but even without it still does a great job of standing on its own.

Great work with these, they made for a super interesting listen and could easily slot into a variety of different types of games. Kudos on the write-up, too!

Thanks a lot! Truth being told that Black and White was a mixing horror for me! 😁

Props to making your own flute and doing live recordings. You're right, the flute sounds great! The drum and guitar too. High points for creativity. Some bold choices here, and why not? The jam is the perfect place. I think overall it could be more cohesive, but this was a really enjoyable listen and a unique entry with some truly beautiful soundscapes. Thanks for making and sharing.

Glad you like it!

I love the development of ideas throughout the tracks, particularly Dreamscape and Inner Peace (which ended up feeling way more unsettling towards the end than I expected lol), and always love to hear some guitar worked into an OST!

Really well done!

Loved it, the fusion of style work for me, really liked it ! Mixing big angry horns and an electric guitar must have been a pain in the aff, and just for that I admire you and this submission !

Developer

Hi, thanks for the comment. You are right, it was a pain and I am still not happy with how it sounds, honestly. But time's out 😁

Dreamscape caught me off guard, the ending is so pretty! I love instrumentation you've gone with, as I have a soft spot for the sound of a hang drum - the choir sounds fantastic as well.

Black and white gives me a "binding of isaac" vibe with the guitar, which is a big compliment!

Glad to hear you like it, thanks! :)

Last part of Inner Peace wooow! I really enjoyed it, so many beautiful chords and such an greatly crafted arrangement. Really like the whole submission, but really a big soft spot for Dreamscape and Inner Peace!

Absolutely beautiful, especially loved the flute theme in Dreamscape and an electric guitar in Black and white!

Developer

Thanks, I had a blast playing the flute :D

Great music, the last part of Inner Peace is my favorite!

Goin' ham on guitar for "Black And White", nice! You played that, right? Now I wonder if it is possible to program a guitar like this at all...enlighten me if you want ^^.

Developer(+1)

Hi, thanks! The guitar is not sampled, it's actually my friend Laureano playing :) he's great!

Nice composition, well paced, Dreamscape is lovely nice buildup. Inner Peace is definitely my favourite by far, atmosphere is impeccable we can really feel the vibe of something is about to happen and will go hard. The only thing I would look for is in terms of mixing most of the track are too focused in the Mid range and Upside down has almost no low end, if you add some bass, double bass, cello anything to make it pop a little out of the mix that would be absolutely fantastic. Great job !

Developer

Thanks a lot! Also for the feedback regarding mixing. It's always hard to do that after composing cause the ears are "tired" already :D I felt that the last track is off in certain way but was too tired to trying to fix it. Thanks for pointing out the root of the problem! :)

I like this one, the orchestration and composition is very cinematic and immersive. I especially enjoy when the instruments swell and fill all the empty space together, like at the end of Dreamscape. Overall just super neat seeing an orchestral submission like this that sounds super professional and clean.

Developer

Thank you, I appreciate it! :)

You've done a great job making your tracks tell your story. I loved Black and White, I don't know why but it reminded me of some Pokemon OST near the end. Nice submission!

Developer

Thanks! Interesting, maybe that might be the synth sound in that track, it has sort of Gameboy feel to it :D
