Description
I would say the genre is close to Classical.
In my mind, the game I tried to compose for was something of a visual novel, or a story focused game.
With the one track I tried to compose to play in an emotional moment.
The DAW I used is Reaper, with mostly samples due to lack of knowledge on Music Theory, Music Production, etc.

Message from the artist
Due to technical difficulties, it is better to listen to this on SoundCloud:
https://soundcloud.com/synhtrist/remembrance?si=18d735d567b64f9bba9a33993c02bba1&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing

Unfortunately due to lack of experience and knowledge, the final result is not as I hoped it to be.

Theme

Inside my world

How does it fit the theme?
I was aiming for a vibe similar to reminiscing on past events during an emotional moment,

You know how to win my heart!

I have a soft spot for solo piano pieces, your choice of samples was good :), I wish you had maybe tried to glue them a tiny bit better, but it’s a great start!

Very realistic piano playing it is very nice.

Wow very jazzy, in a good way. I really like the calm piano. Good job.

Most people that joined the jam didn’t even submit an entry so kudos for putting something together. If you’re trying to get into composing more, don't  be deterred by what you can’t do and really start honing in on the feelings you get when you listen to your favorite OSTs/songs as a starting point!

Wow, really interesting collage of piano tracks here. So are you playing the piano or are they samples from other recordings? There's soooo much potential here. Thanks for making and sharing. Keep up the good work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! They are samples. I don't know anything about playing the piano unfortunately.

You've got it atmospheric!

It's okay if it didn't turn out the way you wanted. Everything will definitely come with experience. The main thing is not to lose your spirit and strive for your goal!

Good luck! Thanks for the soulful ambient)

Hey, for what sounds like a first swing at things, this is pretty good!

Of course, some of the transitions between samples are a little noticeable and not super smooth, but I wouldn't consider them too jarring.

Definitely some good ideas going on with this, and I think once you just get a bit more technical experience (which you only get by, you know, doing more stuff) I think you'll be a lot happier with your results.

Don't give up!

Developer

A big thank you! You're right about doing more stuff to get more experience. I had good fun trying to learn music composition throughout the day I tried to composite the piece (with samples), so I may end up putting more time trying to learn to the right ways of doing things (hopefully with MIDIs, effects, music theory, and all that)!

All right, it sounds pretty mellow, calm piano vibe. The piano switch is I think you know a little out of place, i'm guessing its just the sample switching to another sample, only time that it truly works I think is the last one which switch to a rhodes using the same pattern and it gives a nice transition.

Developer

I agree, but unfortunately I had too little samples to work with nor do I have any music and DAW experience.

Sorry to hear about the technical difficulties but I really enjoyed your track. Very mellow and relaxing. Great work!

Developer

Thank you! And yeah a shame.

The transitions took me some time to get used to, but I like it and I think it's one of its distinctive features! I especially like the one at 0:39, that melody is so good. Nice one!

Love the piano, would've liked more songs though.

Developer

Same, I might probably update with more songs down the line after the jam finishes.

Really good, I love the detuned, lo-fi sounding piano. The back and forth between the more FM sounding piano and the traditional piano sounds makes a really cool effect as well. Great job!

Developer

Thanks! The pianos switching was unintended, I only put it what I thought sounded good.

I think the audio file got corrupted, i downloaded it 3 times and it consistently blasts earrapingly loud noise between 0:03-0:43 before going back to normal.

The music itself is really nice tho

Developer

Yeah it got corrupted, I'm probably gonna link to a Soundcloud thing for now,
