Description
Orchestral Soundtrack for a JRPG story game.

Message from the artist
We had a fun time creating this and almost killed our engineer due to extreme caffeine consumption, but he'll pull through. Also please view our project page we put a lot of work into it. https://tanender.itch.io/asure-sky

Theme

Chronicles of the Azure Sky: The White Dragon's Melody
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
The theme of the jam led our team to create a fantasy inspired OST. The dragon in the picture appears to be based off the Ryu dragon of east Asian and Japanese culture. This inspired the whimsical, Ghibli-esque style of the soundtrack.

I mean yep this sounds VERY pretty I love that main theme so much and how you brought it back for the credits but I also want to give a special shoutout to the presentation, great job on managing to come up with and tell a whole story in 48 hours

Developer(+1)

Thank you we worked hard on a lot of little stuff like the story, project page art, and even reintroducing the main menu theme at the end. So I'm happy you noticed!

Amazing Composition. Send my regards to the Engineer, staying up was worth it!

Developer

Thank you! I think staying up was definitely worth it.

Submitted(+2)

Every song is really great, but my favorite is the last one.

Developer

Thank you, it was fun to have that little piano arrangement wrap the OST together.

Submitted(+2)

YEAAAHHH THIS IS GREAT! I loved the Credits Theme so much, I'm a sucker for beautifully composed solo piano pieces. They're all arranged so well and I'm impressed by the Azure Sky art/theme you put together. It felt like a well-structured soundtrack too with loads of variety - a really good job all-round!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I thought it'd be really nice if we did a heartfelt piano piece at the end so I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+2)

Awesome soundtrack ! Lots of great variety, the compositions and the instrumentations are top notch (the project's page is very pleasing to the eye also). I would have liked to point out a single track that I liked more than the others, however the quality is so consistent that I honestly wouldn't know which one to pick. Excellent job (although I wouldn't expect any less from fellow Studio One users after all) !

Developer(+1)

W for being a fellow Studio One user there needs to be more of us. Also, I'm glad you enjoyed the whole soundtrack we put a lot of work into it!

Submitted(+1)

did you guys have the same 48 hours i had??!?! holy moly this is gorgeous

Developer

Thank you!

Developer

Don't worry we did : ). Thanks for listening.

Submitted(+2)

Really great tracks! I was really drawn to that super subtle little brush perc in the second track. Overall great cinematic vibes.

Developer(+1)

Thank you we tried going for that sweet studio ghibli vibe!

Developer(+1)

After all this time, I've finally figured out what the brushed perc you were talking about was. It's the sustain pedal on the piano lol.

Submitted(+2)

Good composition and quality!! The caffeine worth it :)

Also, kind of Disney-ish, I think?

Developer

Thanks for listening our caffeine addiction definitely feels worth it now! :)

Submitted(+2)

I really like the variety of tracks and your use of the inspiration! Sounds awesome!

Developer(+1)

Thank you we tried to have it follow a story so that way we could make a little bit of everything. We could only make so much in the 48 hours though.

Submitted(+2)

Good job guys! These tracks are awesome! I like how the main theme captures the hope and excitement of the game. You really captured the Ghibli vibes! It's so awesome!

Developer

That's exactly what we were going for. Thanks for listening to the whole OST.

Submitted(+2)

Awesome job guys. All the songs were such high quality, it is quite insane. The string and the brass especially sounds great. The melodies are quite memorable and how each sections just keeps evolving is so meticulously done. Great job.

Developer

Thank you!!! We tried to do as much as we could in 48 hours.

Main Menu - huge! Very grand and pretty.
Quiet Cloud Village - Very effective early town theme kinda vibe.
Castle in the Sky - this track perfectly matches the name. Sounds soaring and magnificent. My favorite one!
The White Dragon's Lullaby - beautiful! I love the calm ending.
Credits - the motif from the main menu returns but more relaxed! A fitting ending.

Amazing work!

Developer

Thank you for noticing the ending is a piano arrangement of the main menu I don't think anyone really noticed that. Thank again for listening!!!

Submitted(+2)

this mix is so good, it sounds so clean. congrats to you guys!!

Developer

Thank you our engineer worked really hard on it towards the end. I'm glad you enjoyed!!!!

Submitted(+2)

This sounds absolutely incredible! You've absolutely captured the whimsical and fantastical sounds that Joe Hisaishi puts into Studio Ghibli. It's almost hard to believe this was all done in 48 hours. Now you've got me feeling inspired

Developer

Studio Ghibli is the exact vibe we were going for when we saw the picture for the Jam.  I'm happy we inspired you to compose also thanks for listening to our whole OST!!!

Submitted(+2)

Nah they gotta make a separate category for teams because this ain't fair. It is excellent.

Reminded me of The Prince of Egypt which is insane. How do you do that in 48 hours?!?!

Developer

I'm so happy you and many others enjoy it so much! Also we worked super hard in those 48 hours tbh I also don't know how we got it fully done.

Submitted(+2)

Wow, absolutely incredible! I especially loved the melody around 30 seconds into the White Dragon's Lullaby.

Developer(+2)

I also loved the climax of White Dragon's Lullaby that's probably my favorite part of the OST! Thanks for listening to it all!!

Obviously very good. Particularly impressive mix given the time.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Our engineer Vito worked super hard to get all the mixes and masters done in time he ended up staying awake for around 32 hours, but we think it was worth it.

HostSubmitted(+2)

Yeah no, you guys are insane. Composed, engineered, mixed and mastered in 48 hours, that's some serious dedication and teamwork right there. Castle in the Sky and The White Dragon's Lullaby are my favorite, but honestly the whole soundtrack is absolutely breathtaking! Great job guys, hope you guys get some good rest after this ahaha.

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! My favorite is probably The White Dragon's Lullaby as well, and don't worry we're relaxing and taking a break now.

If it were up to me, this sounds like a winner right here. Great work guys, awesome work throughout all tracks.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for listening to them all! I'm glad you enjoyed them! The team worked nonstop over the weekend to get them all done.

Submitted(+3)

ah, I see. Uhm, this is absurdly good, great work guys, this must've been an insane amount of work, even for three people. Super impressive!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for listening we did put a ton of work into it I'm pretty sure our engineer stayed up for around 28-30 hours in total towards the end.

Developer(+2)
