The amount of effort put into this is incredible. Also very creative take - choose your adventure style with repeated patterns is something I would have never thought of myself.
Good job!

!!!!!!! IMPORTANT !!!!!!!
THIS SOUNDTRACK IS AN INTERACTIVE PIECE OF ART AND IS BEST EXPERIENCED ON YOUTUBE SO MAKE SURE YOU WATCH IT THERE!
This soundtrack was made for OST Composing Jam Sandbox with the theme of Palindrome.
A few weeks before this jam began I had an Idea for what I wanted to do with my entry. I wanted to make a Choose your own adventure style music experience where what song you choose leads to the next songs until you reach the end.
Before the jam began my goal was to make 1 song lead into 2 songs into 4 songs into 4 ending songs that were all the same as each other but with elements of the previous song. This however did not pan out as the theme was palindrome and I had to switch things up.
In the end what I ended up doing is making an adventure that went 1-2-4-2-1 with the outer 3 songs mirroring each other to make the entire experience itself a palindrome.
There are 10 songs total and I highly encourage listening to them all. They are all under a minute long so it manages to fit under the recommended 10 minute limit.
Something to note is that the first and last song also have palidromic elements in that the melody has the same rhythm forewords and backwards.
The way this adventure is set up makes it possible to listen to the songs in reverse order and you will have the same experience as going in normal order but for simplicity the link sends to the first song since it reduces confusion.
Please tell me what path you end up taking your first time through since that's the fun part of a choose your own adventure.
Difficulty
Make something that has elements that can be listened to both backwards and forwards.

Good job!
The Beginning: I like the use of storytelling! Nice chords.
An Energetic Path: This sounded more fun so I took it first! Fun, upbeat.
Energetic Gaming: We in the arcade now. Fun and 8 bit!
Path of Energy: More of that upbeat goodness.
The End: Like the return of the lyrics for the credits. Those nice chords again!
A Relaxing Path: Very relaxing indeed. Feels like a town theme!
Relaxing Beach: Love that percussion.
Path of Relaxation: Another town theme vibe. Could easily hear this in the early game in an RPG.
Relaxing Cabin: Love the brass. This track feels almost wintery cuz of the percussion and bells. Reminds me of Omori somehow. Probably my favorite track here!
Energetic Circus: That classic 3/4 circus vibe. Effective circus track!
Great work and an amazing concept for your OST!
Hi! That was absolutely amazing! I think that's the last thing I expected to see in this jam... I did all 4 paths and my favorite is the Relaxing Cabin :)
I love how creative your idea is and, although you didn't really use it in the music itself, I really like how your path is a palindrome.
Also, the begging and end tracks are really cool with the symmetric lyrics. I would only change slightly the melody of the vocals to make it perfect!
Amazing job, you deserve at least top 3!
Thank you so much!
Yes I was a bit worried about not having much palindromic elements in themusic itself besides in the first and last track but reading challenge a says to have something that came be played backwards and forewords so I decided that having the entire entry be like that fit decently enough.
I was impressed that you made an adventure game.
On my first playthrough I got the Leave ending. Just kidding, I ended up on a beach.
Hats down for making it an adventure! Went down all the paths, didn't find the secret one, though.
What feels like a missed opportunity is a tune/leitmotif or two, that could be used throughout all/some of the tracks.
Thank you!
There wasn't a secret path the comment that mentioned it was joking.
I had originally planned to have a leitmotif of some kind but The palindrome aspect threw me off a bit since I now needed to make 3 tracks that were very similar to their counterparts and having a leitmotif might make them too similar so I instead opted for no motif so each track felt as unique as possible.
I 100%'d it, no problem. Even got an achievement and found the secret ending; really like the twist at the end where you find out the main character was you the whole time.
But seriously, the variation in the tracks is fantastic, you really covered your bases with this. This felt like a classic platform adventure on the N64 with all the different worlds you could visit. Really reminds me of Grant Kirkhope, honestly. Great job.
Also, side note, I've noticed you give very insightful, and thoughtful comments, great job on that too.
Thank you so much!
Grant Kirkhope is probably my biggest inspiration in terms of how I want my music to sound so I always like when it’s compared to him!
Last OST composing jam I wasn’t able to leave super insightful comments because all my brain power was focused on getting through all 657 entries. With the lower number of entries and shorter lengths on average I knew I wasn’t gonna be starved for time so I took more time to write more meaningful comments.
Most comments I leave are positive because I really don’t want to come across as rude and I also still feel very new to music production and I don’t want to give any wrong advice that might hit people’s development.
What?! A chose your advanture for a music jam . This is so peak. And.... wait the advanture is a palindrome?! This is so original and creative. Greath take! (Also i whent snowy cabin rute)
This is a very, very cool take on the theme, I think Energetic Gaming was the favourite of my path - driving forward retro vibes - but there was a big variety. Energetic reminded me a little of the Banjo Kazooie soundtrack.
Start > Energetic > Gaming > Energy > End for me!
You make a complete OST! You compose a huge variety of genres and rythyms. It reminds me like SNES period :D
I love this! It reminds me of the old NES games and I definitely got hit with a lot of nostalgia! I especially liked Relaxing Cabin, the bells remind me of DM DOKURO when he worked on the calamity mod soundtrack for Terraria haha
Very cool concept! Each track sounds like they would work perfectly on a game. Great job!
I love this idea, my only problem is that their isn't 500 different choices. Obviously that's being silly. I love the though behind each path and the effort of lyrics was noticed and well done. Great stuff!
Wow! Let me try to find something that hasn't been said yet... I guess I've never seen youtube end screen cards used so creatively before haha. I got really excited once I realized what you were doing and hoped so much that the paths would converge again and they did! Great execution of a great idea! This is one of the standout entries for me, good stuff :)
Thanks so much!
This experiment really only works on YouTube because of the end cards. I actively chose not to put it on SoundCloud since it would mess up the experience and I’m glad that you enjoyed it!
The path converging back was definitely brought on thanks to the palindrome theme since otherwise my plan was to have different endings but I actually like how this ended up more!
This is such an awesome concept. I didn't expect this to be as thorough as it was but this was just really cool! I could definitely tell you put a lot of work into this !
I loved this idea, I had never seen this in music before, the last time I saw this type of experience was in an ARG, it's really cool to see it being applied like this
(first of all, I must preface this by saying that I instantly rated the Creativity 5 stars after seeing the listening order flowchart)
Very nice soundtrack and awesome/unique concept !
The tracks are pretty well composed and the video implementation is very well made and thought out (loved the captions on them, I must say that they felt oddly inspirational at times for some reason).
My listening order was Energetic - Energetic Gaming - Path Of Energy, I then went back to the beginning and went Relaxing - Relaxing Beach - Path Of Relaxation, then I went back and listened to that paths I didn't take (Relaxing Cabin & Energetic Circus).
Overall great submission so congrats !
Thank you so much!!
I did try my best to make the captions feel like watching an inspirational/introspective hypnosis like video.
The flow chart I made both to help illustrate how it is a palindrome and also to make sure people knew the placement of the songs since I wanted to avoid as much confusion as possible.
