  • GDD The pace of the document is good. Good with images for mechanics. Nice with art theme interpreation and color design Game The game loop is very relaxing. Nice! I enjoy the fact that it is not stressed with countdown and whatnot. The game does give that very potioncraft feeling and yet it is different. Sadly i died too quickly because I didnt have enough stuff to craft the potions / runes.
  • Good GDD, I loved seeing the details and plans. Very cool! The ideas and foundations link very nicely to the game jam, and the underlying themes are mysterious & magical with a cool soundtrack! Thoroughly enjoyed my little play through. Feedback: Implement a training section to the functionality behind the game. (How you move build potions, what the ingredients are, how you use the shop etc) Add item descriptions to the items in crafting window The game is nicely laid out and thought out, please keep going with this. I would be very interested to see how you implement new items and upgrades to the shop & potions :)

Did you include your Game Design Document as a Google Drive link?
Yes

Seriously... did you include your Game Design Document?
Yes dude

Is your game set to Public so we can see it?
Yess

Tell us about your game!
Wizard Village is a potion crafting roguelike where you manage a potion brewery shop. Manage your inventory and find the right combination to make cure your customer from shadow curses !

Extra Notes
I originally intended to end the game after day5 (after a hard week of work) but didn't had time to finish the game as I went on vacations so it currently breaks on day 6

The webgl build created a strange scritch in the theme audio :(

I'll handle those concerns in a few weeks, in the mean time, please enjoy the game :)

The art and vibe of this game is very charming and I especially think the mechanic of moving the satisfaction zone is pretty cool, very nice :)

Really fun game and I loved being able to use clever solutions to get the potion in the correct region, my only complaint is that after a while it gets super easy and your able to just buy the entire shop every time. Also, on day six, customers didn't spawn and the game broke. It is very fun to play though and I love the doodle style art.

i love the ingenuous mechanics of the game, its so cool to see what people have made

This is a really enjoyable game. The art work feels consistent, the music is nice. The main mechanic is a nice find. Well done!

The feel is so polished and nice! And the mechanic is a lot more intuitive than the introductory text made me fear.

Clever mechanic for brewing with so many ingredients. I love the use of everything working together, aiming for more coins > buying the right ingredients > not loosing health

Love the aesthetic on this game ! And the crafting mechanism is both smart & intuitive.

Great job ! you got a real banger there !

This game is sick I love it. Got to the sixth day and wouldn't allow me to potion so uh I guess I beat it?

Developer(+1)

You did it! :) Thanks for playing the game!

Great job on making a really fun game! Such simplicity but intricate enough to make me wanna keep going till I beat all 6 days. The introduction of the shadow overlord as a limitation factor was super smart incorporation of the theme! Well done.

Developer

Thanks :) Wish I had more time to had more depth to the shadow overlords!

Yah time is super rough on these jams, even with 5 people i had for mine we felt rushed the whole time haha. Feel free to check it out and give me some feedback as well. Again great job.

Thanks! Might have some ideas for a full version 😉

I loved playing this, thank you for sharing it! Very simple, immediately establishes its vibe, and I reflexively found myself parroting the lil' customers; I love how you did their voices! Great job ✨

Wow I love it. Cute art style, music track suits the game perfectly, I love all the little animations and details - feels very polished.

Fairly nice and quaint.   A few suggestions from me on how to improve things.  Firstly sound, the music is overly repetitive, and has a harsh static at the end of the loop which makes things unpleasant.  Maybe also change the music when engaging with the shop keeper.

Second, possibly see if you can add mumbles or talks when buying things or selling to customers.  Just hearing the sound of coins can get boring real quick.  Make sure to vary pitch and tone of the coins and mutterings of shopkeeper and customers.

Lastly, collision with the cauldron has been a primary problem.  Half the time I thought I put the ingredient in simply by dragging in from the side.  Maybe make the collision boxes of the ingredients larger, or more clearly defined.  Maybe a pool of water in the cauldron to indicate that you should drop them in rather than drag them to the cauldron.  Another possible way to indicate that the player isn't putting the ingredient in correctly could be the sound of a metal clink when the object strikes the side of the cauldron, or a plant brush sound.  Experiment with sticks, leaves, flowers, and metal on cast iron pots if you have access to them.

Otherwise, lovely game that reminds me of Potioncrafter.

Thanks for playing the game!

I had little time to create the theme and add sounds so I understand it can be a bit boring/repetitive. Random pitch change is applied to every sfx, and ingredients hover/drops are modulated according to the score they give you. The crackling sound of the theme unfortunately only appeared in the webgl build and I didn't had time to fix it :(

I hope I can iterate on this post jam!

Great good and very well polished for Webgl. I did have issues trying to make the recipes. Only suggestion would be to have a recipe book or something that a player can use as a cheat sheet.

Developer

Thanks for playing the game!

The point of the game is that there is no such thing as recipe, the goal is to combine whatever ingredients to get as close as the customer request as possible

Yeah when I did that my ingredients would just bounce out

Developer

Ingredients bounce when you reached max ingredients rule

Oh okay that's weird since I tried to empty it but couldn't figure out a way.
