If you have implemented the modifier, how have you done so?
the sound effects are annoying at points i guess. Also some of the cutscenes have far too much going on sonically

What a grand quest!

First off, I absolutely love  the graphics of this  game. The cutscene style is so endearing, and the characters and environments just work so well!

The entire premise of the game is perfect. It kinda feels like a stoner comedy in video game form, which is something  I didn't think I needed. (And still don't think I needed but hey it pretty fun anyway!)

Voice acting. Impeccable 10/10 no comments.

Platforming was tricky - though not the absolute worst. I think 10 minutes as an estimated playtime is slightly optimistic though 😂

Overall this was really fun and definitely a strong  SBIG entry! Thanks for taking part in the jam!

Developer

As someone who's never touched The Lettuce in their entire life, I just felt like a very stoner vibe kind of game would be very appropriate for this jam for some reason. It just makes sense in my head

And as for the platforming...yeah I really fell victim to the classic game dev trap where you're used to your own game and you're like "hm this isn't that bad" but then it turns out that it's actually very hard ...sorry about that

Now THIS was some "So Bad It's Good" goodness!

The visuals are perfectly crappy, the story is stupid and silly, the voice acting is whatever the hell it is. I particularly liked ASMR Jigsaw. The cutscenes were some of the best I've seen in the jam!

The platforming could get a bit tedious for me though, especially since there's no checkpoints in a level. If I had died near the end of the final level I think I would've called it quits.

I did like that you added an option for a speedrun timer and various extras for completing the game in various ways. I have no intention of 100% ing them but I appreciate the extra effort.

Excellent work!

I love the concept and style of this game, and though it's janky, the core mechanics work well and the weirdness doesn't take away from the game. I suck at platformers, though, and I didn't have the perseverance to keep going after repeatedly dying to the death throwers in the second level, then falling through the jumps at the top once I got past them.

Genuinely enjoyable game. Did feel like the final level could have used a checkpoint or something (died near the end and then backtracking all the way back up was a bit of a bore), arrow keys as a movement input would have been nice, and keyboard keys to swap projectiles/throw them would have been nice as well (possibly using the arrow keys + z/x/c control scheme), but then again, those are all minor nitpicks.

Still, great work with this game, and it truly is some peak so-bad-it’s-good content :)

I will admit that there are some small improvements I could've made that you and other people have suggested and some that even I myself have thought about but the bad part of so bad it's good extends to the code itself. The reason why I finished a day early instead of adding other things was because by the end I felt like I was playing late stage jenga and if I were to do one wrong move the tower would collapse so I just left it as it is. Well except for the lack of alternate control schemes, that is on me (I say as if the other stuff wasn't)

Awesome game!

It was fun to play but I didn't like the enemy hit boxes being huge. I died a lot and collected 2Kish money in first few platforms. Thank you for your submission!

SFX are top notch. Enemy collision was very large but the games are supposed to be bad so I consider this a feature.

Developer

The way I coded in the enemy collision was very wonky and the way it was set up the hotbox needed to be quite big and I knew that from the first second I put the enemies in the game but in the name of jank I decided to not make them work better

audio was great, the death sound got me pretty good lol.

Submitted(+1)

Love the audio in the game, wish I could toss bricks at people in real life too

Developer(+1)

The authorities don't want you to know this but you can in fact throw bricks at people! And it's completely safe and legal! Go try it!

(for legal reasons: do not do that)

Submitted(+1)

Submitted(+1)

yeah its possible to not get the brick

Developer (1 edit)

Pro tip: don't do that

Well you can still technically beat the game without it, but still

Don't do that

Mitzi has ascended

Developer(+2)

I somehow haven't encountered this during testing. This is beautiful

This is a special boss and HK easter egg.

Developer(+3)

I have not played HK yet (I swear I want to I just haven't gotten around to it yet theres just too many games i need to catch up on), I just named her such because mitzi is a very cat name, and I guess this confirms it

hahah. it was a joke, there is no boss called Mitzi in HK.
