The fact that we can’t see directly through the windows adds a touch of weight: the text gives free rein to our imagination! There’s something satisfying about the juicy effects of the monsters closing in on the player, killing the monster (I promise I didn’t do it the second time!) and the archaic movement of the characters. At any moment, I could have had another monster jumpscare out of a locked door haha. I like the sound detail at the end when we’ve decided to kill the “monster”.

I can’t really find any bad points, except that I’d have liked it to have lasted longer and that I sometimes get my feet stuck when I’m moving forward, which requires a little step backwards to unblock. No big deal.

Thank you so much! Reading that made me so happy, I really appreciate all the kindness🤩

Very engaging and atmospheric game. Nice graphics and sound design, with text elements giving a sense of forboding. Good work.

Thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed it😁

I just released another bug fix patch 😁👍

I liked your game, the story looks horrible and the entity looks very Slenderman I really like the animation of your character when he walks, it looks like he's drunk lol

Developer(+1)

I'm so glad to hear you liked it!😁

I have a bad habit of making a lot of my game's stories very tragic🤣

Submitted(+1)

Had fun playing this! The animation are so goofy it gives a unique feel to the game. I had to use the gun once, but it felt very nice, I wanted to shoot more! hehe Good work

Developer(+1)

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I did my best to make the gun feel impactful and fun to use 😎
I also plan on eventually making an extended version of the game with a new section of the Asylum containing more "creatures" and maybe even a sawed off shotgun too!

Nice ! Honestly a good horror game !

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it😁

Thank you so much! I'm so happy you loved it🤩

Hard to believe this is a solo project, so polished. Wow! I love this style of horror, reminds me of detention.

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear that🤩

Good game, it's gloomy, it's scary, it has a plot twist! Although I didn't quite understand what main character meant in the end of the game.

Thank you so much! I'm so glad to hear you liked it😁
(Lore Spoilers Ahead)

As for that lore bit, there is a lot of hidden details throughout the notes and other reading in the game that all come to the conclusion that the Rowan Walker(aka the player)'s brother died and that the grief drove him mad/insane. In the good ending, when the player finds his brother's grave he comes to reality and in the end decides that he really does need help to get over his grief. Rather than the alternative, since in the bad ending he ends up shooting the monster (actually a asylum staff worker) since he is hallucinating and when he gets to the grave the grief overcomes him and he ends up offing himself when the police arrive to arrest him for the asylum staff worker's murder.

I just fixed the bug where sometimes going into a room and moving too early would make all the players joints backwards😁👍

I was a bit stuck with the control for a while. But it is a really nice game.

Developer

I'm glad you liked it😄

Good game! blasting the head off that thing is the best part. the player movement get stuck sometimes.

Developer

Thank you! I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it😄
The movement's a lil rough around the edges since it's my first time trying to make procedurally generated animations, though I honestly kinda like it a little since it sorta makes it look like the player is unstable/dazed😁

Submitted(+1)

Well done for a solo project, would love to see more like this in the future!
10/10 would not turn my flashlight off in the locker leading the monster right to me again

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you so much! I really enjoyed watching you stream it, very enjoyable and funny commentary😄

Submitted(+1)

Great game! After getting the second key I'm not able to go left bc of the monster and right I can't unlock the door! Got eaten a lot haha

Developer

I'm glad you liked it😁
As for that part, the second key is for the other keylocked door in the first hallway. Ya just gotta hide in a locker and wait for the monster to pass by so you can get back there, then the real fun begins 😄👍

Submitted(+1)

AHHH HIDE IN A LOCKER, I was too preoccupied with trying to out run the monster haha

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

You're all good lol, I did go all out on those scary chase effects🤣
Oh also, I forgot to mention that you have to turn off your flashlight in the locker otherwise it'll pull you out of it👍

Submitted(+1)

It's really scary. I died from the monster many times.. Read some comments here, and.. it's good to know there is a way to kill it) Really good job, the vibe and feeling is awesome.

Developer (1 edit)

I'm so glad you liked it! As for the monster the best tip I can give is to hide in lockers with the flashlight off until most/all the screen chase effects are gone, then try to run to the next area👍

Submitted(+1)

Good job! I find so strange the player movement, but you give a big jumpscare

Developer

I'm glad you liked it! I really wanted to switch things up with the movement and have been wanting to learn procedural animations for a while so I used this as a learning experience😁👍

Submitted(+1)

Wow great work! This is really impressive, especially for a jam game!! The vibe is great and it's very cohesive.

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed it😁

Developer

Also just a lil heads up, this game has 2 endings👍

Submitted (1 edit)

goofy ahh walk 💀💀👍

Developer (1 edit)

I did my best, it was first time doing ragdolls and procedural walking animations😅

Submitted(+1)

damn! killing that creature was fucking awesome!

Developer(+1)

I'm so happy to hear that! I did my best to make the gun feel as impactful and fun as I could😁
