This was one hell of a fun ride! An action-platformer at its finest, I loved the smooth controls, the mildly infuriating precision jumps and the delightful feeling of success when I finally beat one of the challenging levels. The graphics are super clean, and the player animations are awesome. I also enjoyed the background music that fit the on-screen action very well! Really good job, awesome game!

Nice game with solid gameplay and a cool unique art style! Definitely giving classic Super Meat Boy vibes :D

Interesting mechanics, I like ๐Ÿค—

Really loved the art-style of the game, you've really well used those 48 hours :O

game was fun but last levels were pretty "infuriating", i think that was intentional
great game

Very well made game! I like the music, visuals and movement, but on one of the levels I get 5-10 fps for some reason, so it's a little unplayable

Developer

Yeah sorry abt the lag, it may be a problem with the godot html export (notorious performance issues with some games), your web browser, or it's possible I just optimized poorly.  Will definitely look into it thanks!

I love the visual and the character controller, gg

The movement and sound design its super satisfying. The levels are nicely crafted and i got stuck in several of them cause i suck lol

Awesome game!

Love the gameplay, feels similar to Jump King with carefully crafted levels, but with a faster gameplay style. Game looks great visually as well!

Wow this was great.
It's hard to explain but it just feels great, the momentum, gravity, speed, ... is just balanced very well so it feels super satisfying to play. And it looks good too.

Was very hard but I managed to beat it in the end :)

I agree with the previous comment that there's a few small issues with the controls to iron out if you kept working on this, but for 48 jours that's damned impressive.

Bro that game was insane like I'm stunned you made that in 48 hours. There was a lotta raging, but I finally beat it and all I can say is wow. Also thank you for adding controller compatibility lol

I guess one thing I could critique is the player controls themselves (at least for controller), I think it was a bit clunky when trying to go from climbing to jumping and moving left to right (and vice versa), and sometimes I would jump and hold up on the stick to try and climb and it would stop all of my momentum, and I wouldn't even get to the plant. I think maybe it's just a controller thing or I'm just bad at platformers lol

But seriously though really awesome game, and felt very polished.

Yeah, thanks for the feedback it's greatly appreciated!  Initially the controls were a little bit different, because I was testing on controller, like for example there was a button for latching onto the little tree thingies.  I realized at some point that on keyboard having an extra button for this feels really clunky, and so even though it gave the player better control I had to take it out.  Stuff like that.  I was trying to consider the player experience because I assumed like 90% of players would play on keyboard because of the context of a game jam.   Unfortunately this ended up making some of the movement a little less polished than I'd like, but I'm glad you still enjoyed it!  Thanks again!

Really nice and polished game! Simple in mechanics, yet still very fun and satisfying. Very nicely put together!

This was really well done!  I think the difficulty of the levels had a really nice progression in difficulty and it was satisfying to finally beat a level.  It reminded me a lot of Super Meat Boy.  Sometimes I found I would either latch onto or drop off a vine when I didn't mean to, but that's probably just a skill issue.  Overall, great job!

That jump is very satisfying! Very hard to beat but I liked it a lot. Nice job!

Hey there ! I really liked to tryhard your game haha ! Did you really make everything (including music) ? If it is, that sounds pretty awesome !

Really good mood, I like that kind of game (like The end is Nigh). As others, I think your game is well executed, nice music and art ! And I loved the good frustration and the improvement curve. Otherwise, I think that deadly fire start too fast, giving player to see the beginning of the level and waiting his input before launch the deadly fire may be less frustrating (bad frustration here). The movement is tricky, first of all I thought that was too slippery but after few tries I took it ! So GG for betting on this challenging movement feel, it finally works well ! When I tried again and again, I saw that when you die, the removing stems follows the initial cooldown, instead of resetting, that may be a problem in a specific situation.

Have a nice dev !

Great graphics and music. The controls had a bit of a learning curve for me, and I was about to quit on the first level. I'm a bit rubbish at these kinds of games. Other than that I enjoyed myself while playing this game! Except for the last level, I don't want to talk about it.

This game floored me. I don't want to sound dramatic, but this is one of the best games I've seen not just of this jam, but of the past several jams I've participated in! The visuals are stunning, the gameplay is simplistic but devilishly difficult to master and lends itself to tons of variety. I do wish there were some more sound effects, but the ones present are beautiful and perfectly build up the game's atmosphere. If you had me play this out of context and told me it was a popular Steam game, I would 100% believe you. Amazing!

thx bro yeah i woke up late so i didn't get to the sound effects lol.  you too honestly, ur game looks fantastic.

The graphics were simple and extremely well executed. The guy jumping is a 20/10. The controls and their running felt a bit too fast, especially when traveling downwards. The mechanics got introduced at a good pace. Very well done

This is a well executed game, and I found the mechanics not revolutionary but enjoyable.  It has enough levels to that you get a feel for the controls.  I really enjoyed the amount of lateral movement the jump had.  The character art is great.  I like the twirling.  All of the assets are cohesive.

this is hard yet stylish. I thought that i'm so skilled at first but deadly fire proved me wrong
