Delivering a cauldron full of soup while dancing, how diabolical! The character movement is really funny, I feel like there should be a jam where all the characters have to move like that XD Nice idea to make a rhythm game. A soup meter that shows how much soup you lost while wiggling might be helpful to see how well you're doing. Overall a fun game with a way too catchy song.

Love the idea, the music is good but a bit repetitive. Sometimes you’ll miss the notes for some desync that could happen. With a bit more feedback on player action it could be perfect.

Good job!

A rhythm game? I like! The song is catchy but a bit repetitive. Though I feel like missing a bee here and there would have made it more fun, as it's now just "how consistent can you click on the beat".
The animations as well as teh assets are very great. Though, the green is a bit too bright for me.
Regardless, a very nice entry, Well done!

Ps: The game is really living up to your name :D

This looked very interesting! The soup started it off, but the real fun I found at the bees ! I love the idea of a rhythm game and the theme interpretation definitely is one of the most original this jam. Very impressive, congratulations !

What a wonderfully silly entry.

While you mentioned that you have no business making music, I disagree. I think the music, while simple and a very short loop, perfectly complimented the silly visuals which I also enjoyed. And it was certainly catchy.

I'm not sure how you achieved the almost fish eye lens effect with the terrain and the queen in the distance but it was very cool.

I think a bit more clear feedback on how the player is doing could go a long way to make the gameplay more enjoyable as I felt I was hitting the button on the beat but ended up losing anyways. I couldn't, with certainty, tell if I was hitting the bees at the correct time or not.

Animations kept me giggling all the way through. <3

Well done soup wizard!!

Thank you so much!! I tried to make a janky (like seriously, very jank and would not ever work for a real game) system for staying on time with the beat using a system of timers to see if I could, and it sort of works!.. But it's very much not perfectly on beat and even gets out of sync lol. Godot has much better methods for syncing audio with gameplay but in the short timeframe I was just not able to get it.

I like to think of it as an avant garde freeform jazz kind of rhythm game. It doesn't follow conventional rules of music! lol

Wait... Let him cook! And i must say, you cooked something here! Intresting mechanics, at first i totally missed it was a rythm game, then when it clicked was very fun! I never tought i could se Godot-Man feeding stew to a Queen Bee until today lol

Thank you! Godot-Man has got to cook in more ways than one to keep those bugs at bay.

Love the style and the music, and the totally random idea. It's hard to tell but it does kind of feel like there's a desync sometimes, I mostly had to just watch the wasps to get the button presses right instead of going off the music. But really nice work, rhythm games are ambitious!

The melody is funny and addicting, and overall the game made me think “ah, it’s a shame we don’t have a Humour rating here like in LD jam”! xD

It’s especially hard for me because I don’t much have an ear for music, but surprisingly I could jam on rthyhm lots of the time and actually enjoyed myself! But I am afraid it’s impossible for me to beat xD

Gameplay was fun and I feel like it’s inventive and interesting. Not sure about the theme at all; and obviously graphics weren’t the focus during these short 3 days, but the fit the feel of the game ^^
