So much fun, everything looks amazing for a 10 day Jam. Gameplay's really fun finding the crates. Good job
Thank you so much! :)
that pitch is adorable ♥ and your cute little guy embrace the mood, well done!
Thank you so much :)
It took an embarrassingly long time for me to get to the main menu. Music, graphics, polish, all amazing. Very impressive entry.
Short, sweet, and stylish.
Found bugs: time stops randomly a health doesn't reduce in the dark.
Yes, interaction with crates wasn't exactly clear, so you just finish the game pushing them :)
Thank you :)
First time i've heard of these bugs. Do you know how to replicate them? I'm curious
I haven't tried in the mission 1 and mission 2, but mission 3: 1. approach the van BEFORE finishing with the objectives; 2. Press F; 3. I assume code registers it as signal to stop counters from moving (including health bar.)
Let me know if you need a video, I still got it.
Ohh no ofc it was the last minute change that broke it haha.. I knew i shouldn't mess with the code :D Literally just forgot to move a variable into the if statement that checks if the objectives are completed and that breaks everything. Thanks for letting me know!! :)
I love the art, it's fun but finding the crates can be confusing sometimes.
Thank you! :) I made the last level intentionally a little harder cause i ran out of time to make levels, so it's understandable :) You're not the first haha
Great game! I love the mechanic and how you interpreted the theme. The art looks really cool, I like the color palette. It would be nice if the objectives stayed on screen a bit longer or the whole time or if you could display them again with a button, so you know what you have to do better.
But all in all great game, I really enjoyed it!
Thank you! You can see the objectives again from the pause menu (escape). I thought about having it on screen the entire time, but i felt it was taking up too much space on the screen, so i hid it in the pause menu. But you're right i should probably mention that somewhere.
Thank you again for playing and i'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Ah yes keeping it in the pause menu is perfect, I just didn't find it :D
Amazing game both visuals and concept! I love the integration of the theme, I found it very unique. Just had a bit of trouble getting started but still had a wonderful experience! Great Job!
Thank you so much :) Will definitely try make it more clear if i ever work on this again
Looks great. I like the art, the concept. There is an INTRO ! The polish is good, like how the music change when you're about to pass out. I think the music does not fit the game, something calm and suspenseful would had been more appropriate.
Overall great game.
PS: I also use some light system like you, but game is totally different.
Thank you! I spent too much time trying to make music i wanted and that would fit, but cause i don't know anything about music and time was running low, i decided to use this one to at least have something :)
Thank you again for playing! Will be checking out your game as well when i got some time
Favourite implemenatation of the theme tied in with the lighting/shader or what ever you did visualy for the lights. Beuatiful color pallet. Only isse I had was the guards detection range wasnt all that clear and got a little lost on the third level trying to find the lighswitch. Good job tho.
Thank you! :) I was told the same about the guard detection area by one of my testers and i tried to add something that would look decent, but it just kinda ruined the look so i left it out. Not the best choice i know, but i couldn't come up with a good solution in time.
Thank you again for playing :) Hope you found the light switch hehe
Oh don't worry I did finish it haha. But yeah, I couldn't think of a solution to that problem either. So it's just a nitpick. Good stuff.
Interesting, kinda unique. I just can't pass the first level because time stops after i transfer the box to the car, but then nothing happens, even with interactions.
I like how you can deliver the box with many ways. I like the title song, but the game play music would be less intensive; more like a quiet calm night-level song. The box would be smaller though, and buildings borders understandable.
Story telling in here is interesting and fun. I like how to jump right in the story in the video games; the way you did this is perfect.
I like the idea, very good indeed. But i though the robber want to avoid the lights; this is like the opposite. Graphical theme is well made and though. I would like to be able to drive that car too and cruise in the darkness...
Thank you! :) In the first level you have to also turn off the light, otherwise you can't leave. It's mentioned in the objective list, but i understand that a lot of people missed it and don't know that you can open the pause menu to see the objectives again. Should probably be more clear about that in the future or write something in the description.
You're also right about the music, doesn't fit the game that well, but i don't know anything about music and i was running low on time so i just picked that one cause i thought it was good to at least have something.
And about the robbers avoiding light, you're correct :) In this game you're afraid of the dark, but you're also a thief and thieves usually wanna stay in the dark, so to make the game fit the theme, you must stay on the edge of darkness for those reasons. Would've also loved to implement driving to this, but 10 days isn't quite enough :)
Thank you again for playing and great feedback!
This is really great considering you did it alone!
I loved the colour palette and the graphics, I was a bit confused at the start because I didn't read to turn on the lights with the switch (if it was written anywhere 🤣), on the third mission I had the same problem because I didn't read the mission (I was dragging the wrong crates), I think that you could have left the mission visible all the time!
Another thing I didn't understand is the rope, can you grab it or is it just a collider? I tried to pick it up smashing all keys on the keyboard (and I killed me several times with R)
Thank you! :) It is written on the screen when you load in, pass out or restart, so i figured just let the player run around, pass out a few times, and they'll probably notice it if they didn't already. I thought about keeping the objectives list on the screen, but it was taking too much space in my opinion and wanted to keep the UI clearish. Making it smaller was not an option because of how i set up resizing to get that pixely look for the rope for example.
You can grab the rope with the same button as you grab onto anything (space), however it's not needed to complete the game at all and it's just there in case you wanna pull the crates from the dark or from another light source to another light source. There are not many uses for it other than that. I planned on making puzzles where you have to use the rope or you'll pass out, but didn't get around to it. Maybe it's still useful for some people thought i don't know :)
Thank you again for playing and great feedback :)
That's a great idea! I get a little struggle at the beginning, before the menu. But I really had fun.
Loved the stealth mechanics.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :)
I like the pixel art , the colours this game is wow. Very Impressive!
Thank you so much! :)
No problem!
This game rocked. I’m so impressed with how much you got done, in this amount of time. I couldn’t help but smile while I was playing it because of how fun the concept was, and how great the execution was.
Thank you so much! :) Glad you enjoyed it
I really loved the design of this game; the color palette, art style, and music were all superb. They certainly all had great style!
My biggest criticism is probably the difficulty that comes with juggling so many mechanics simultaneously. Pushing a crate, sneaking around guards, and watching your "light meter" all at once was a little bit overwhelming. It may be helpful to have some kind of auditory indicator whenever a guard is close or your meter is low, that way the player doesn't have to rely only on their eyes for each of these mechanics.
That being said, the challenge that came with these mechanics was really engaging and unique (in a good way lol). I loved the little gameplay discoveries I made during the run, like learning that running away from the guards while keeping close to them kept your meter filled, or that you could lead the guards outside so you could run back inside and gain more time to push as they walked back in. That's a sign of great game design, allowing different strategies to be forged as you play.
All in all, it was an awesome game, and I can tell you put a lot of care into it. Great job!
Oh wow reading this made me smile :D Thank you! There is actually an auditory indicator when your meter's getting low. You can kinda hear a slight reverb effect going on when it's under 70%, the lower the more noticeable. As for the guard's flashlight keeping your meter full, there's a secret location in the 3rd level that uses that exact mechanic. You can't run anywhere with the guards cause the navigation area is sort of limited, but there's a path they can take that leads you there :) It's nothing special but it exists.
Thank you again for playing and making my night! Definitely checking out your game when i got some time! :)
Really loved the look and sounds in the game. I thought it was a really creative take on the theme. The rope physics on the crates were super cool but couldn't find a situation where I needed it. Also, I was lost in the beginning so I had to check in the comments to find out about the light switch at the start of the game. I guess for feedback, is to make the game a bit faster (a bit too much time waiting around) and more clearer indication of the light switches. Overall great job :)
Thank you! :) I haven't even thought of speeding up every aspect of the game. I agree it's a little slow and not really that fun, but maybe that could fix it. And i see the light switches are more of an issue than i thought they would be. I don't wanna shine a spotlight directly into them so maybe a flashing pixels or something could do it to kinda catch your attention. Thanks for great feedback and thank you for playing! :)
Really cool game. Had a really good time playing this. I gotta say that I liked the art style here. There's so much detail in such small spaces and it all just looks amazing. My two gripes are that I think the guards patrol a little too slowly. There was a little too much standing around waiting for my liking. Secondly, I think the light switch needed a little more mentioning. I was a bit lost in the into and last level until i discovered it.
Overall, very cool and I'd certainly be happy to see more of this.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it :) The guards were a little faster in the early versions, but i slowed them down so they wouldn't be as difficult so more people can beat it, but i completely understand where you're coming from. Slowing down just gives you more time to think :) As for the light switch, i'll probably make a bigger and more noticeable sprite if i ever work on this again. It was kind of a last minute thing i added to make it a little different compared to the other 2 levels.
Thank you again for playing :)
This is great! The small characters were awesome. Kudos on animating such small sprites. Everything about this game is tops. Great job! My time is embarrassingly high too high to share lol.
Thank you for playing and the compliments :)
Cool game ! The AI was a bit frustrating at parts tho, specially when they would push a crate you need around their patrol making it kind of impossible to get without getting aggroed.
Really cool presentation, ambience and music, really nice.
Thank you! I know it's a little frustrating. This was the first time i was using Godot's pathfinding and i didn't have time to figure out how to cut out box shaped holes in the navigation instance :) It worked for what i was trying to achieve and called it good. Definitely something i'll fix if i ever work on this again.
Thank you again for playing :)
Oh boy, it took me way too long how to figure out how to play this. I seriously spent about 10 minutes just walking around the opening area before I realized where the light switch was. Could definitely have used some kind of light on it maybe just so I knew where to go. I have to say though, the presentation on this game is fantastic. I absolutely love the lighting effects done in pixel art. Really gives the game a magical feel! Overall the puzzles I'd say weren't terribly fun in their current design...the only one that seemed to have a solution for me to figure out was the last one where I had to realize where the light switch was to turn on. It was a neat discovery to realize that you could slow down the enemies with the crates! I'm not sure I ever used that one to its full potential though. The conversations with the boss were super fun. Overall a great game!![](https://img.itch.zone/aW1nLzcwMzA1NjMucG5n/original/hJrMMZ.png)
Thank you so much for playing! All valid points and very reasonable. Definitely could've put a light on the first switch, but decided against it cause it sort of had a light on it already and i understand it blended into the wall quite well, but figured when you find it it'd pay off :p The first 2 levels were there to teach and the 3rd and last was more of a puzzle. I wanted to make more levels and add a bunch more features, but ran out of time cause i wanted to polish what was already there. I found out you can use the crates to speedrun as well by watching one of my play testers haha. He was pulling the crate and one of the guards was pushing it.
Thank you again for playing i'll definitely be checking out your game when i have time!
