I loved this game, the clever usage of all the acquired mechanics and the general flow of the game is just fantastic. I'd love it if it was somehow easier to switch to the exact skill that you need and I personally had some troubles with the camera, though.

A solid little game :) although I almost wish the concept had gone further in the puzzle direction and less in the platforming direction. I felt as though (hopefully this comes off as a compliment rather than an insult!) your puzzle-building skills showed more strongly in the game than your platformer-level-building skills. Lovely use of particles/processing. :D

It's fun to see how just adding some particle effects can make a game form good to awesome!! I'm surprised form how much content this game has to offer!! Switching abilities was akward and the enemies (without the ability to defeat them) are a bit too hard to dodge, but other thank that good Job!!

Nice visuals, great level design and mechanics!

Nice, I liked the art and your take on the theme! It was fun, that death animation was really cool. I enjoyed failing to get new abilities, a great game!

Very good game. Lots of content, great gameplay and great idea.

As some of the comments already pointed out the level design was a bit sloppy and unbalanced but that is completely acceptable in a jam game.

I thoroughly enjoyed my playthrough, well done!

Very cool and I love how you solved a problem I was facing with which was "how to prevent the player from killing themselves at the start of the game over and over to get all the upgrade." This is very clever interpretation of the topic and probably the first time I've seen someone implement a metroidvania style game so well in a shorter jam. Excellent work!

Insane amount of content and polish for 3 days. Visuals are awesome, sound design is on point.

For critics, amount of different states becomes bit overwhelming, some UI would solve that problem. Jam theme is explored, but in a small way, feels a bit like cheating.

Still, one of the best games in this jam. Polished, fun and creative.

Extremely polished game! Who did the sound design? Like th sfx, were those auto too?

Developer

Some sound FX were done by me (hence the horrible quality) and some were found on the internet, for example the guitar bounce sound (since I don't have a guitar). Glad you like it

Enjoyed the concept of use whatever kills you makes you stronger. Good puzzle elements too. Great job!

What a great game! Love the style already, feels polished and well-designed! The part with the floor spikes and 2 bouncing spiky balls was a bit frustrating and switching abilities is a little cumbersome. Overall really well done!

Developer

Glad you like it :)

Unfortunately I didn't have anyone to playtest the game so the ballancing is pretty horbile as I've heard :D. The idea was, that once you get the shooting ability, you can easily kill all the enemies and get past them

Super great and creative mechanics, epic!

Well done especially for 3 days. Like the powerup respawn animation.

That was an absolutely fantastic game! Really well done, it is crazy how much you got done in a short amount of time. All the different abilities and the huge map, that was a crazy experience! Awesome stuff man!

Definitvely one of the games that will be featured. The game is put all together, the interpretation of the theme is akso interesting and teaches me the lesson that graphics is not what is really important for a game but aesthetics.
Thanks for sharing you game it is very cool!

Really nice idea. Encourages the player to try every death, and this is something that can be missed in other games. Imagine all the work on death animations and effects, that is missed because of players being too skilled in a game XD

Interesting interpretation of the theme which I haven't seen before. Good job!

Nicely polished and felt good. Apart from the bouncy balls; god damn they were annoying. I quit when I got past one, then picked up a checkpoint at a dead end and had to go backwards back through it.

Not a complaint per se, but I would have enjoyed seeing more interesting / detailed environments. What you had looked good and is polished, but for a metroidvania I would like landmarks so I can understand where I am.

Fantastic work! The theme, the execution, the polish, fantastic!
Well done and good luck! This is great!

The only thing I faced is I got stuck in one or two places and had to reload the game page to play again and try a different path.

Developer

It should be impossible to get stuck. Do you recall what the area looked like where you got stuck?

5 Stars! Very cool submission, fits the topic very well, super polished (actually wtf, extremly polished!). Only thing that could have helped would be to be able to switch powers with 1 - 9 or something like that because its kinda tidious to switch.
