Definitely has the best storytelling out of any of the other entries I've played. Having to re-order events using the clues was a great mechanic (the color-coding was a really effective touch), but my game bugged out on the fight scene and I wasn't able to move forward with the entire game, no matter what keys I pressed. Despite that, I had a good time with what I played. Good work!

Developer

Interesting. I haven't heard of that bug yet. If you want to play the rest of the game, you can start up the intro and either press 4 to jump to the fight scene or 5 if you want to skip it. Thanks for playing, really appreciate it!

Man, it's a gem. It is simple on the one side but it's super creative - when the game ended, I was just smiling. I don't even want to criticize the game - it's just good :)

Developer

That's so kind of you to say. Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it.

This is such a brilliant interpretation of the theme and its really well-executed! This definitely in my top 10 games for this jam. Well done. I have zero complaints, you nailed it. :)

Developer(+1)

Wow, you're too kind. Thank you so much for playing my game. Glad you enjoyed it!

I love these puzzles and ghames idea, goes to my favourite games so far. Not much else to say

Submitted(+1)

This was beautiful! I love this Wish there was more. It was an interactive, fun puzzle. This was amazing. I never thought the story would be interesting in this jam but here I am with my jaw wide open!

Developer

That's so kind. Thank you so much for the nice feedback. Comments like this really make my day.

Really creative way of story telling, and really good visuals. I quite enjoyed this, thanks for making it!

Beautiful visual style and sounds! The game turned out really good. But apparently I'm too dumb to pass these puzzles. Good job :D

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks for trying it out! If you want to see the rest of the game (the 2nd and 3rd stories play completely different from the 1st) you can check out the game description for a walkthrough and cheats to skip directly to whichever scene you want.

Submitted(+1)

Wow very creative storytelling. the gameplay changes throughout kept it pretty engaging. I admit I cheated on the first level, but I  appreciate you putting the walkthrough in the games description since it helped me get to the next two levels which I enjoyed much more. I especially like the 3rd story, I think its really funny! Good job!

Amazing game but just not usually the kind of game I'd play.
Developer(+1)

Thanks for taking a look anyway! If you're not into visual novel type stories, the 2nd and 3rd stories in this game actually control completely differently from the 1st. There's a walkthrough and cheats in the itch description if you're willing to give it another chance :) .

yeah I will just trying to rate as much games as possible I did like it though so I'll probably come back to it!

Amazing job! very creative, somehow made me nostalgic. Kudos!

This is great! I spent a lot of time on this game (especially the first story) but had a lot of fun. I liked that each story was extremely different, even in terms of gameplay but still followed the basic mechanic. The art and sound, too, are very well done :)

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks for playing! I'm curious; did you spend a lot of time on the first story because you enjoyed it so much or because it was the most difficult? I've heard a few people that gave up during the first story and unfortunately didn't get to see the gameplay changes in the 2nd and 3rd because of it. Wondering if I should have lowered the difficulty for the first story.

Submitted(+1)

The first story was very hard for me. The second one was pretty similar in difficulty, and the last one was incredibly easy and I beat it on my second or third try. I wouldn't say the level is too hard in general, but rather time-consuming, which tends to work against games in a game jam. It wouldn't hurt to remove an option from the first level to make it a bit quicker to beat.

Developer(+1)

That's fair. I suppose it's difficult to determine the difficulty of something if you're the one who made it haha. I'll have to ask someone else to playtest my games in the future to see how long things take. I appreciate you taking the time to respond to me. Thanks again!

Great! Charming art and charming story! Love that you changed the way the player inputs too! Really creative.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you think the art is charming. Art is definitely my weakest area and I tried to spend some extra time on the art in this jam to work on it a bit :) .

Submitted(+1)

wow! this game is great! I really didn't expect the 3rd story Good job!

Developer(+1)

I'm so glad you liked the third story. It was my favorite one to make :) .

Took us some time to compete, absolute masterpiece of a game, great job!

(and an interesting take on the topic too)

Developer

Thanks for playing! That's so kind of you to say :) .

Nice :D good take on the theme!

I love this game, it is so funny to select random thing, and the dialog adapt to it, thats so well done, just lovin it

Developer

Hey, thanks for playing my game! If you haven't seen the 2nd and 3rd story yet, it might be worth taking a quick look if you enjoyed the first story since they take the gameplay in completely different directions! There's a walkthrough and cheats in the description on the itch page if you're interested :) . Thanks again for playing. Really love all the nice and friendly feedback.

Hey!
Very nice and creative game. I have to say that after playing the first story and seeing that the next one has fighting (because I looked at the controls) the game will lose it's charm and will be incoherent, BUT it didn't happen, the fight was well incorporated into the main mechanic, which was great! It took me a while to figure out some of the options possible in the second story and I really thought it bugged at one point but it was just me not knowing there is another a little less obcious choice still to be made. This game is a perfect jam idea, but also could be expanded and still have it's charm and novelty. This game really plays with player expectations. <SPOILER>Last story especially has some great player baiting and humor</SPOILER> While I'm not really a fan of this style of graphics I have to say that they serve their purpose here. I have to admire how the lines said change based on what we choose, and overall how well this is thought out.
I think the font bugs a little at first, as it's changing, but that's just a minor detail. Also I have to agree that it's sometimes hard to know if by "order" you mean position of the event or an event sequence, but once player gets a grasp on that the game is really enjoyable.
To sum all of it up:
- Very clever idea

- Great execution of said idea

- Fun play on player's expectations

- A little, minor confusion with the wording

- Good visuals and sounds

- Possibility to expand the game after the jam

- Very, very few bugs, actually I think I only saw one very minor one

- Enjoyable and challenging gameplay
So overall Very solid game, great job! I enjoyed playing your entry very much :)

Developer

Hey, thanks for playing my game all the way through! I've seen a few people confused about the "in order" wording. It's a pretty difficult thing to put into words. I think a small tutorial level or something would go a long way if I were to do it again. Thanks for the complete feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Loved the theme and idea, very cool concept, and made me nostalgic for Mastermind. Liked when the game remembered the order of events and told a story about it (like the life-saving changing based on weather). Wish maybe there were more cues and hints so you could finish with more informed guesses and a little less trial and error, like if the grandpa was like "No that's not right, hmm I'll go get something to jog my memory" and he's holding an umbrella or smth. Idk but I really liked the idea and playing it!

Developer(+1)

This is a fantastic suggestion and would solve all the feedback I've been seeing about the solution being too random and not tying back to the story. If I were to do this again, I'd definitely include little hints like that. Thanks so much for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Beautiful game! I like the concept of getting the right order, very creative. Good job!

Submitted(+1)

Great game! The plot was super creative and the stories were enjoyable to play through (especially the last one!) Although, I wasn't a huge fan of the trial and error gameplay. That's probably just me, though, and I probably should have opened up notepad to help me remember what I got right lol. Still, it's something I haven't seen any other game try, and that's really cool!! Also, the walkthrough really helped and I liked how the text in the first one changed depending on what you picked prior. Good work!!

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks so much for playing my game. Yeah, I've heard a couple people talk about how difficult it is to get the solution without additional hints. I think if I were to do it again, I'd include little hints during the "No wait, that's not quite right" part after you get the wrong solution. Maybe something like "Odd. I remember it was raining." or something if it isn't raining by the time you fail. Thanks for the feedback!
