Really cool to gate things by size. It seems like a normal 2d platformer at first but then it becomes clear that it also matters in which order you do what to get as much yummy as possible. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! The breakable blocks are definitely my favorite level gimmick, allowed me to really emphasize the size mechanic. Didn't want the player to get three stars by completely ignoring the theme!

Submitted

awesome game, it feels a little like a kirby game, the sounds effect are funny and the main character is really unique. hope it gets featured by GMTK

Developer

Thank you so much! We definitely had Kirby on the mind as an inspiration for the core gameplay + visual style. Glad you liked the silly Michael sounds :P

It was so cute! it may sound trivial but the movment felt smooth and fun to play with

great job!

Developer(+1)

Hey, I don't consider that trivial; movement is crucial for a platformer like this. So glad you enjoyed it!

That's one hungry lil' fella! Nice little game, I like the star ranking system! It's also fun how the music gets more instruments when you eat more of the gelataliens.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! Wanted the star system to encourage replayability, since there were only three levels. Also thought the dynamically evolving music would make growing more fun!

Submitted

Neat! i think the skill could activate a little faster!

Developer

Glad you liked it! I do agree, there should be less start-up time for the eating; we just wanted to make sure people didn't spam the button repeatedly to avoid slowing down. Gotta find a better balance!

Submitted

Michael is my favorite pokemon. Making every one of his sounds a variation on saying the name Michael is amazing I love it!

Developer

Haha, I'm glad you enjoyed it! We thought it'd be a cute trait to give our little jerboa. It was fun recording the audio for it :P

Submitted

Thought the idea was neat and enjoyed how you had an incentive to be at a certain size during the level and could have little skips!

Developer

Thank you so much! Wanted to make sure your size played a good factor into the fastest routes; that way, the core mechanic couldn't be ignored. Glad you enjoyed the game!

Submitted

I liked the art and enjoyed playing it, nice character animations!

Developer(+1)

So glad you enjoyed it! Marloosha was responsible for all the art/animation, she did a wonderful job :D

Submitted

A super cute game , what can I say except for "Micheal"

Developer

Michael, indeed :P

Submitted

Super cute and fun! Felt really good to handle too!

Developer

Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it!! Tried making sure the base controls felt polished, glad it paid off :D

Submitted

That was super cute, i loved the little main character and the Sonic vibes, the eating mechanic being able to charge through the scenery was a great touch! I thought the difficulty curve was a little much but maybe thats just me. Overall though - that was a great game to play!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked all the art and vibes. It was intentionally tricky, might've done it a bit too much though; just wanted to really test platformer players.

Submitted

Really enjoyed how tight the time was set on each challenge, really forced me to get good at each level and figure out the different routes. Takes the best aspects of Sonic-style level design and combines it with the theme very effectively.

Developer

I'm really glad you enjoyed it! The tight time limits + route hunting was mainly inspired by my recent playthrough of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, which has a super demanding time trial mode with a similar structure. But, I'm also a lifelong Sonic fan, so of course some elements from that franchise snuck their way in as well :P

Submitted(+1)

I enjoyed playing! Although admittedly it took me way too long to realize I should hold to eat instead of tapping. Wish there were more levels! Nice job!

Developer

Thank you so much! Yeah, a lot of people are saying a similar critique regarding holding the eat button; should've been better communicated. Glad you enjoyed it though!

Submitted

Pretty fun! Only criticisms are that the fact that you have to hold down the Eat button isn't explained clearly enough and the lack of a pause menu (though the quick reset button does make up for it)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I updated the page description to say "hold X/P to eat," but that sadly can't fix what's in the game. Glad you had fun!

Submitted

Great and fun little game! Like another person said, a pause menu would be nice! Other than that, I hope you make more levels!

Developer

Thank you so much! I do wish I had implemented that pause menu, haha. Hopefully being able to reset the level with "1" + the levels being fairly short to complete makes it bearable!

Pretty cool mouse kangaroo hopping platformer game!

Developer

Thank you so much! Our little mouse kangaroo is a jeroba, one of the smallest mammals in the world. Michael specifically is a Baluchistan pygmy jerboa, otherwise known as Salpingotulus michaelis :P

Submitted

It's a charming little game! Took a couple moments to figure out the eating mechanic required holding the Eat button rather than just pressing it (unless my timing is just terribly off), but it is a mechanic that fits the theme and could make for an interesting take on platformers!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Yes, you are supposed to hold the button; no need to worry about your timing! We'd love to expand the concept someday into a more dynamic platformer, hopefully this gives a good taste of the potential.

Submitted

the game is simple and fun, but the art is SO SO SO charming. I love it.

Developer

Thank you so much!!! Full credit to Hi_Marloosha for the art, she focused on it the entire jam and I agree it came out great!

Submitted

I really enjoyed the game. Hard challanges to beat and a good runner. You will have to play again learn the level and master it. Scaling mechanic maybe can be more understandable, it took me a while to understand it.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! We wanted to make the star requirements challenging to increase replayability. A more detailed explanation of the scaling mechanic within the game would make sense to add, thanks for the suggestion!

A simple idea, but turned into a fun little platformer. I like how you have to decide whether to stay small or get larger. Makes me think more, but that's not really easy if you don't know what's ahead. It would be nice to better see what's ahead of me. Maybe with a dynamic camera that shows more where the player is looking.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm glad you liked the core gameplay loop, we wanted to make sure the idea was simple to understand and executed well.

I 100% see your point about visibility, it does require some memorization to know what's coming. Hopefully the levels being shorter in length made this bearable!
