That sounds like a pretty lucky run, every boss has some way to attack the upper side of the arena, if I get back to this I will probably add more moves and intelligence to the bosses for when such thing happens.

Yeah, In the end I decided being able to control your head was the main challenge and not really the bosses. Chomper doesn't do the charged launch instead I makes an area attack when he bites to be able to do some combos and latch to the enemy (kinda, needs better coding). Thank you so much for liking the visuals! it was my main focus for this jam!

I played it with Mozilla Firefox!

this was so addictive, I have a lot of fun! everything felt so responsive and reactive, really liked the artstyle, the music and the gameplay, an awesome submission!

I really like the artstyle! the 1-bit design is really cool, combined with the RPG like music makes the bosses feel more epic!

OMG I WANT TO PLAY MORE! the game feel is incredible, the art is cool and the music is fun and catchy, the only problem is that I can't play after the second boss! idk why the game crashes when i try to reach it or I was killed by them, I hope you found a fix cus i really want to finish it, is probably one of best controlling game on the whole jam!

Interesting game! It gives me that 2d modern metroidvania style vibe games like Hollow Knight, Blasphemous and Nine Soles have! great music, nice art and great bosses, sadly my pc started to lag on some bosses so I ended my run early

Really loved the artstyle and some pretty catchy music! the gameplay needs some work, there was a constant bugs where i ended floating over the vinyl and when i started the fight me and the boss had the life of my previous run (so I had 0 and the boss not full), hope it get fixed soon cus i really wanted to play more

Short and Sweet mix between boss fight and tower defense, when I finally realized the idea I really liked the concept of farming resources to help create your base. This is a project that I think can be expanded for more.

Omg this game looks so good, the visual style and character design are great, the pixel art is amazing, better than some full indie games. The amount of content with a bunch of bosses, multiple characters and different tools is crazy! I love what you guys did it!

Ok this was Awesome! love the story and the vibe of the whole project, very well designed bosses and a unique gameplay that fits perfectly with the jam. Congratulation for this fantastic project!

Nice little game, Interesting world and concept going around, love the steampunk design defined with a great pixel art, also the powers you have are very helpful, a solid experience, the only problem I got it was with the ballerina, every time she shoot her beams it lagged the game to a crawl.

this game feels like a feature complete Indie Game (it just need some more sound effect imo). I would never guess someone could be able to make a combat game with gardening mechanics while doing it so well! Beautiful visuals and cute graphic with really cool music, nice but kinda easy bosses with charming ideas. FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE

Very fun Idea! I really like the concept of little puzzles for each boss to defeat and the great artstyle the game has! there where some minor bugs in my playthrough, letting myself out of bounds from a room spin or the second boss getting stuck in a electric pad, but  they got solved themselves for whatever reason.

Interesting way to take the spinning tops concept, gives a nostalgic feeling watching them roll all by themselves and one just tweaking it's power like changing parts, would loved to see a visual representation of each card as a new part of the top. Loved the art of the cards

Love the hand drawn style, the music fits perfect for the bosses and i really like the world and the concept

Unhinged, difficult, crazy, amazing. This is one of the most unique I have ever played, hell, touched, I heard it was good but I didn't knew it was THAT good!

What a cute game! Even with the simple design it was a blast to play, beautiful characters, cute graphics and good music gives the motivation to go forward and finish the game!

Amazing!!

So sad is unfinished, I really wanted to see more of the cool character concepts, the designs and are animations where really cool.

First RPG that I have seen in the jam, really like the style, reminds me a lot to Hylics, very cool way to take the jam theme and make it a vibe

It looks interesting but I didn't get it, I killed the boss without knowing how I did damage, the visuals are cool and I really like the models of the characters but I would loved to get some explanation of the unique world the game shows.

So cool Idea! Is like a combination of Mario 64 and Rakugaki Showtime, With very cute art and charming characters!

Amazing! perfect idea, perfect execution, cute visuals, charming designs, cool music great sound effects, even has a cute narrative ending.

Short and simple! I would have loved to have seen more bosses but the one in the game was great! I think having I-frames after a hit could have help to make the game play a little more fun (and with that it could be great to reduce the amount of HP of the player), cool Intro screen and UI!

Very fun time! I love the idea of the customizable spinning tops and also love the dynamic music, also pretty catchy! great bosses and interface that makes smooth the transitions from each screen!

Thanks! Kinda, The models are based in the old cel-shading style that uses games like Jet Set Radio, Viewtiful Joe and Killer 7, the menu's are an in between of Persona and Crazy Taxi. Yeah I totally agree with the camera, it has been something that has been bothering me and I've trying to find new solutions since. I'm glad you had fun with my project!

At the start was kinda difficult to understand what was happening, but after understanding where the boss was and the size of the hitbox it was a interesting experience, very unique idea with a very cute character, giving a reason to the only one command at a time was a smart move!

Here is my jam entry! https://itch.io/jam/boss-rush-jam-2025/rate/3295032 I will happily also rate yours!

Just rated your game guys! here is my little project: https://itch.io/jam/boss-rush-jam-2025/rate/3295032

Simple shmup game with a interesting defense mission twist!, sadly the shooting button didn't work sometimes so it wasn't possible to defeat the bosses until like the third loop, I liked the simple controls, being a only mouse game helps a lot to make it stand out!

I tried to implement a web version before the jam submission time ended but it always got problems with the screen size for some reason

Interesting little project, with a very interesting horror vibe that remembers me to old dungeon crawlers, it was fun to finally see implemented this loop ability in the jam and your way nailed it, it made me wanting more!

More people need to play this! IS AMAZING!!!

Interesting concept, the visuals aren't of my liking but they work, pretty neat mechanics that tied up very well with the concept of the jam, the sound effects are kinda repetitive but it really helps telegraphing the attacks, I felt outside of Weaver the bosses where a little bit easy.

Also there is a way to cheese the game spamming dash and melee attack at the same time where you don't receive damage if you are inside the boss.

I like it, and I see a lot of potential in it's ideas.

Wow what a beautiful game, was a very cute little package, with a basic yet neat way to implement the jam concept, amazing art with the pastel colors, very cool music and fitting camera and sound reactions.

Sadly got a crash screen in the credits and after defeating the boss and some effects didn't load me (like the enemy shooting particles like in the thumbnail gif).

I played 3 of the 4 bosses because the last one wasn't loading in the title screen, also when i played the web version it had a very janky camera that when it shakes it went outside of the arena and didn't stop, aside of that the game was very interesting.

The most fun was trying the different powers, each one very unique, so much that I wanted to do combos with them but waiting for the next move made it not possible (also It kinda annoyed me that when you did the jump attack the character flew back almost always hitting some spikes).

Visually impressive even with the unique light effects and the amount of particles, everything had some reaction.

The music was awesome, very great for each boss fight even when it was difficult to hear some signs of the enemy.

My first experience was kinda frustrating due that camera bug, but aside of that is a pretty neat game.

Thank you! and yeah, the camera was very difficult to adapt when the game doesn't have an up direction to follow with the plenty amount of rotated thing. again thanks for liking the vibes, that's really makes me glad to do this project!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you love the style, the idea was that the head is the main learning / difficulty point of the game after I ended with simpler bosses, and I quickly got used to it so I didn't realized it's difficulty.

Very fun game! simple controls with a neat boss concept, sometimes the luck wasn't helping but I just tried harder to beat it, the dynamic music was a cute detail.

Astonishing visual style! pretty difficult even after you learn the great boss pattern design, it didn't get at first you can shoot "the mad" in it's showdown phase, kinda sad that the game just loops after the 2 bosses.
